1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Where do you keep your BJDs' boxes?

Feb 10, 2011

    1. Agreeing that any packing supplies that can be re-used are like gold :whee:
Boxes and bubble wrap and whatnot can be expensive!

    2. I toss the outer box, usually. I had the inner boxes and some of the packing supplies for quite a while, but I did a power clean a couple weeks about and ended up having to sacrifice it all to the gods of "being able to move around and get into my closet in my tiny little room". The pillows pad out their new storage tub home and they wear the facemasks in there.

    3. I get rid of the shipping box and things like packing peanuts/etc (at first I kept them--buuuut, I'm never selling anything to ship, so there was really no point), but! I keep the doll boxes and pillows so that, when I move, I can pack everyone up safely, without worrying about how to put them into the moving boxes, etc--just into the doll boxes, nice and padded, then all into a big moving box, and there! Done. :)

    4. I keep the doll box (not packaging box), pillows, papers, face cover...pretty much everything but the bubble wrap/ect :)

I store the boxes in a closet with all that stuff inside :) I don't have a TON of boxes but it does take up a lot of room so I do understand why some people just keep the dolls.

    5. When I got Soraya, I kept everything. xD
A year later I have since discarded the bubble wrap, but I still have everything else!
The outer postal box I've kept, which I use to stash the things she's not wearing, since her little dresser can only hold a couple things.
I still have all the mailing papers and such that were attached to the box as well.

    6. I just realized that I only wind up keeping *everything* (bubble wrap and all) for dolls I later on decide to sell. o.O Weird.

Usually I only keep the box and the pillows, but all the dolls I kept the bubble wrap and paperwork for wound up being sold.

    7. I toss the shipper box pretty much immediately, unless there's a problem and I'll need it to ship the doll back, or if I need to ship something else out for which the box would be perfect. I hate clutter, and I don't like keeping extra boxes around. I also keep the shipping material, such as bubble wrap and peanuts, if they are in reusable condition. Non-reusable packing material (and newspapers!) get recycled.

As far as the doll box and everything inside, I keep it all. Cushions, face protectors, paperwork, manuals, freebies, etc. Though, I have to say, after having bought 27 dolls over the years, all the cushions are beginning to annoy me. I'm glad that some companies have foam cut-outs in their boxes instead of the dreaded cushions.

    8. I don't have my first doll yet, but I would definitely keep the box. I've learned from experience that you always end up needing a box shortly after you get rid of it. The dolls box might be good for if you move to a new house, to sell it, or to simply put away if you're afraid it will be damaged out in the open. I don't know if I'll keep the bubble-wrap and such, but I'm definitely keeping the box.

    9. I keep everything. Outer shipping boxes, inner company boxes, doll pillows, bubblewrap, styrofoam packaging... everything.

I collect fantasy parts, so it's really handy to have storage for them (or unused human parts) when my dolls aren't wearing them. I also keep my dolls boxed up except when I'm playing with them, so their boxes have really been invaluable.

I've also used bits and pieces of the bubblewrap to package parts I've mailed to other people, but I mostly keep it to protect all my fantasy bits and pieces :XD:

    10. Before I decided to start selling dolls, I threw away the outer box and packing materials, but now I keep everything. Boxes and packing materials can be expensive, and I pay for them myself rather than making the buyer pay for it. Even if I didn't plan to ever sell any dolls, I think I would still keep the materials for when I move. I'm surprised in retrospect that I threw things away in the past. Storage space is limited, but the shipping boxes aren't that much larger than the inner box.

    11. I keep everything. Well, I throw out the mailing box sometimes, but I keep doll boxes, pillows, and everything.

And I save the bubblewrap for when I ship plushies to people.

    12. I keep the doll's box, bags/pillows, and paperwork - most of this gets kept in the box itself, if not in my storage cubes.. The outside box usually gets recycled. Packing material I may keep depending on what it is and how much room I have for it. Though if I ship anything with packing peanuts, I usually end up shoving handfuls of them into grocery bags and THEN stuffing my box with those, much less messy to clean up for the buyer. :)

    13. I am someone who keeps almost everything ^^
I keep the bubble wrap, the small plastic bags, cards ( if there is any), the EMS paper, face protector, inner boxes, the wig net etc. It is good if you want to ship something later on.

I rarely keep the outer boxes, I always ask my dad if he has any use for them and if not they go ^^' If I would get cute little boxes I would definitely keep them :3

    14. I keep everything except the mailing box, but the bubble wrap I keep for other things.

    15. I like to keep the doll boxes, pillows, papers, and bubblewrap.

I used to keep everything but it was taking up way too much space. I had several doll shipping boxes full of packing peanuts that I ended up just getting rid of a couple of weeks ago.

    16. When Jared came home, I kept everything including all the bubble wrap and the package box. XD The doll box is where I put in his stuff. ^^

    17. I keep the box they came in, not the mailingbox. And the pillows. The bubblewrap goes for recycling. :P

    18. I keep EVERYTHING, even the label on the box (only for reference)!^^ Bubblewrap always gets used for other things...when I had Soom Saiph and shipped her to her new owner unstrung I kept her foam pillow for over a year and then found a use for it when I tried to make a sofa for my dolls (using the foam inside) - I like to re-purpose stuff! ^^

    19. i don't have a doll yet but i'm pretty sure i'm gonna keep the box since i don't have a proper 'home' for him :sweat
also what i learn from youtube is most people keep the pillow so you can wrap them up inside the pillow and get it in on the carrier bag if you want to travel with your doll

for me i will keep everything though (i don't know about the bubblewrap because i might end up playing it it and throw it away :sweat)

    20. I keep everything including shipping box and packaging items. It's mostly because I'm notorious for reusing these items since all my family and friends live around the world. Literally. -_-;; I'm a gypsy and move around a lot and having the boxes plus shipping boxes for bigger expensive items and electronics has saved my rear end more times than I can count.
