1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Where do you keep your BJDs' boxes?

Feb 10, 2011

    1. I've always saved the inner box, and everything that came in it except bubble wrap, which gets recycled into a pile of packing materials for when I ship stuff. Aside from the fact I like keeping the "complete package", all my dolls are stored in their company boxes. However, most of my dolls are tinies, so these boxes don't take up much room. My two 60cm dolls, who do take up room, are stored in their boxes under the guest room bed. I also have one their shipper boxes flattened out underneath. I kept it when I realized how annoying it would be to find another box that big if I ever needed it.

While I can appreciate that not everyone has the space to keep boxes, I don't understand people who toss paperwork. It's not like the COA papers take up much space, even if you're one of those people with 50+ dolls. On the secondhand market, having the papers helps prove the doll's authenticity. I know a lot of people are like, I don't care, I'm never selling my dolls... but you never know what might happen. Some companies are even starting to require proof of purchase before they will do any kind of repairs, like sell you an unusual replacement part because you dropped your doll and it cracked, or something. So people who toss the papers just baffle me.

Oh, and as for free gifts... if they're food, I eat em. ^_^

    2. I'm exactly the same like RogueGirl ^^
Although the case is still totally different, because all of my child is second-hand, but I still keep the boxes given from the previous owners, both the real dollbox or the unreal one. I keep their stuffs in the boxes. So Rion's wigs, accessories, and clothes are put in his box, Orin's clothes and wigs are put in her box, and the same way is done for Noir's and Aro's stuffs :P

    3. It not us that keeps anything. Its our cat. He like packing peanuts. So about 2-3 months later we find a small stash of them somewhere in the house lol!!! <3

But normally I just keep the doll, the box they came in and all there stuff.

    4. I pretty much keep everything. I'm a bit of a nomad, so I try to keep the original boxes + shipping boxes of most everything just because I'll probably be moving within the next four years anyway. If not, I definitely use shipping boxes and packing materials for christmas/birthday gifts and care packages abroad.

    5. For the most part I keep just the box and any blankets that come in it! I will keep anything that goes over their faces though, just in case. If they have any special parts, like my Withdoll Priscilla's armor, I keep the bubble wrap and everything!

    6. I like to keep the inner doll box, pillows, face covers, Doll certificate.
The bubblewrap is good to have for when I need to ship things out or i need to bring my dolls in a suitcase.
I toss the shipping box, peanuts and newspaper.

    7. I keep:
      the fancy doll box
      the certificate
      the pillows
      the face up mask
and the bubble wrap (you never know when your gunna need this;))

Sometimes my dolls come with extra goodies like eye putty and chocolate but that's a given, of course I'm keepin' those!

    8. I've experienced but one actual box opening (I ordered a Lusis faceplate second-hand, so I don't think that counts, though I did receive small gifts. :3), and I kept...
      The doll (duh)
      The box
      The pillows (if applicable)
      The face-protecting mask
      The original paperwork
Whatever other goodies are included. Basically, I retain all articles condusive to doll maintenance.

    9. I normally keep just the papers (obviously) and the doll box itself, but not the box the box was shipped in. There are times when I have to throw the doll boxes because I run out of space >< (But I refuse to do so if the doll is limited and choose to throw just the boxes that are quite common or normal).

    10. I tend to keep the shipper box (unless it's smashed or in poor condition), the doll box (if there is one), and pillows (or bag) to keep my doll in. Sometimes my dolls come with certificates, cute notes, or just really pretty paper or ribbons from the company/seller, and I keep those, as well. I'm truly a sucker for awesome packaging.
I also keep the bubble wrap and other packing materials if it's in re-usable condition.

    11. I usually keep the doll boxes (though I had to toss two of my minifee boxes due to space issues), as well as the pillows they came with. I also keep the little pamphlets and certificates and stuff (if I ever sell, someone will want them), face protectors, that sort of thing. I very rarely keep bubble wrap unless I have an extra pair of feet or hands or something to keep safe. I usually use the boxes for transporting the dolls during moves or for storing things in.

    12. I keep the original box and all paperwork face mask, etc. If the shipping box is an odd or hard to find size, I usually keep that too, in case I decide to sell later.

    13. I keep everything, the packing stuff can be reused and everything else I just like to have :)

    14. When my doll arrived I thought I'll keep the inner box, but my grandma said that for some reason she needs this box. I said that she can have it.
Now I only keep the pillows, the manual and the certificate of authenticity.

    15. All my dolls are second hand hybrids assembled by me and have no certificates. So, I threw everything away, except little present from previous owners of doll parts.

    16. I kept everything from the Boxopening. Also the Box is currently in my cellar. The rest I take with me, when Anri and I are on tour. And in the white satin cusion he sleps, when we´re far from home.

    17. I toss the bubble wrap, the outer box, packaging filler (peanuts, newspaper, foamy stuff), and other packing bits. I don't do a lot of shipping so there is no point for me to keep these things. Plus, I have a really small apartment; I don't have the space for 'in-case of..' If clothes come, I toss the plastic unless it's a zippy bag.

I keep the box, pillows, hairnets, the bag and the cardboard the wig came in, eye case, face mask, certificate, postcards, and whatever else is cool... basically what's in the inner box stays except the packing stuff around the doll.

    18. i was planning on tossing everything except the pillow, but i may end up modding the doll box into a carrier, since it has a hinged lid. we'll see.

    19. I keep everything lol. The outter box, the inner box, the bubble wrap, pictures/calendars, etc.
Just so in case I want to sell it one day, it's easier this way.
Now let's just hope that my closet will be able to handle it all lol.

    20. I keep the inner box, doll padding and anything else inside the box that could be useful later (extras, receipts, any company stickers stuck on the outside) recycle the shipping box and any packing peanuts I don't need to send something myself. Mostly I keep the inner box mostly because I know we're going to be moving at some point and I want them to be as well protected and identifiable as possible when that time comes.
