It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Where do you keep your BJDs' boxes?

Feb 10, 2011

    1. I keep everything, and I mean everything. I used to throw away the shipping box and packing materials, but now I keep it all in case I have to move or sell. I even keep the shipping forms and papers that usually arrive taped to the box, for cataloging purposes. The cellophane baggies that usually come with clothing and accessories are neatly placed into a large envelope of safekeeping; when a piece of clothing isn't in use, I usually put it back in its original packaging.

    2. I like keeping all my doll boxes in good condition (I actually get a bit upset if they arrive dented or marred XD), so they're all safely tucked away in my (climate controlled) closet. Most of them are plain boxes, but I wish I had plastic "sleeves" for the ones with decorative markings and pictures on them. They're so pretty. ^^

    3. Well, when I buy a doll from the company I always keep their box.
Not always the box their doll box came in, unless I have room for it.
I'll also keep some packing peanuts or whatever they used to ship the doll, so I can recycle it later if I need it. :)

    4. I keep everything, be it to use at a latter date for shipping things, or packing things away, or when all else fails my two cats can turn ANYTHING into a toy. :kitty2

    5. My doll just came in today and I can say for sure that I'm keeping everything. I ship stuff quite a bit so the newspaper and plastic will come in handy, and my mom often needs big boxes when we take stuff to second hand shops,so I'll save the box for stuff like that (The shipping box from DDE,not his box,I love his box. XD ). ^^

    6. I keep the doll's box to store it away when I'm not using it, then the cardboard box it was shipped in, all the contents inside (obviously), but I tend to hoard bubblewrap. Not only to use again when shipping items, but to pop what I don't use. I'm one of those weirdos who loves to pop the bubbles. :sweat

    7. Your not alone,I love popping the bubbles too. XD

    8. My Honey Delf came in a super cute little box that has a gingerbread looking house on it. I kept that I also kept the box that my Kid Delf came in but lost it in a move several years ago :( . I don't keep like the bubblewrap (at least not after I pop the HELL outta that thing!) Luts doesn't give out alot of freebies with their dolls so there's not much to decide to keep or toss out. I don't have any dolls that aren't Luts. :)

    9. I keep pretty much everything -and it is a good thing I have kept shipping boxes etc.: they come really handy now that we are moving to another house, so much easier to move the resin dolls in their own boxes where they are safe to travel. And when I sell dolls (yes, that happens too sometimes) it's easy to ship the doll in its' own box and pillows etc.
I usually store my dolls in their boxes, since I don't have room enough to have my dolls hang around in my house anyway (and my cats would have too much fun with the dolls if I did ;) ).

    10. >///< s-so I just recently obtained my very first BJD. He's a Souldoll, vito body, sharics to be exact. when i first saw the box i nearly screamed. bringing him home dying to open him i plopped down, tore everything off to find my precious boy waiting for me.

I kept the important stuff, the box, his pillows, the plastic wrapped parchment stating his authenticity, but none of the packaging, bubblewrap or what i would consider trash.

    11. I usually toss the box it shipped in, since I can't re-use it for anything, and keep the inner box.
I keep all bubble wrap and peanuts, as I sell a lot on the internet, and they're super useful that way.
The last doll I ordered had about 15 dollars worth of peanuts in the outer box. Every little bit helps, packing supplies add up fast. :3

    12. I usually keep everything but the outer shipping box, newspaper/peanuts! But then I kick myself for throwing away the shipping box every time I decide to sell a doll. I can only seem to find the shipping boxes doll companies use in packs of twenty-five or fifty! Next time I'll know. haha.

    13. I have to keep most of the packaging, If its the orignal box then yes, the bubble gets re used, Paper and shipping boxes go in the recycle. Alough I keep the orignal boxes for storage of my dolls I kep them on the pretex of incase I sell them, the likely hood of that happening is as rare as hens teeth!

    14. For dolls 65cm and under, I tend to keep the shipper, unless it's too damaged to bother. After all, the doll's box itself is part of the set (I've seen enough Antiques Roadshow to know that the box counts!) and may help preserve future value. And mostly those shippers aren't much bigger than the inner box.

But the shippers for boxes like EID, SID, or Mecha Angel are just too farking huge to keep, so those get tossed. I live in a 1-bedroom apartment, with 36 dolls, so you can imagine how much of my life is already taken up by boxes! I figure I can always make a shipper later in the future if it's needed, but I don't sell my dolls so the need has never come up.

I have an alarming bubblewrap hoard already, but I do try to keep it in check... So, whether to keep the miles of bubblewrap depends on what the current supply looks like. ^^ You DO always need bubblewrap, though, it's great to always have some.

If the doll comes with a fullset, that gear all gets kept. Even if I never use any of it. Again, future value to consider.

    15. I absolutely keep all of my doll boxes. It takes up a lot of room but I feel that if, at sometime in the future I decided to re-home one it is more desirable to be able to offer the new owner the doll with it's original box.

    16. I keep my BJD boxes (all three of them lol) but for other dolls I'll only keep it if its pretty. We just don't have the space!

    17. I had no idea most people actually throw out their boxes. @_@ I always have preferred to have them as I keep them in their box. Though there was a time I used to let them sit in shelves but after I knew that most artificial lights actually has UV I started hiding them away again in their boxes. For me this is such a significant thing as this is what makes me miss them and want to play with them. If I see them too often I get annoyed and overwhelmed even though I only have 6 at the moment. ^^;;

    18. Absolutely! I have the original box the doll was shipped in as well as the shipper box in many cases. I also tend to keep the packing material too. I have a large and growing doll family but I still want to keep the boxes. I keep them sealed in plastic (to avoid any sort of damage) in my attic.

    19. Actually I use the box as a bed for my doll! :3 Boxes are just too pretty to be throw away!

    20. Yes I keep them. I use my Doll Box as a clothes storage for my boy. I can put everything that he owns in there and beside of that, I think that the dollzone box is really pretty! I like the logo on the top of the box!
