1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Where do you keep your BJDs' boxes?

Feb 10, 2011

    1. Out of the 18 dolls currently in my possession, 15 have their original boxes. The others all came without decorative boxes. I typically don't use them for anything, but I'm going to use them to store my dolls in for an upcoming move. It's annoying how much space they take up, but I don't want to ever throw them away.

    2. I keep all of mine.
I don't have a lot of space in my room on the floor, my room is small and square, but it does have a very high ceiling (yay for old houses!) so I just keep going upwards.
At the moment I have one box on the shelf above my bed, and the other four are on top of my closet. I'm not sure how much higher I can stack them before I can't reach, but I suppose I can always start using a ladder

    3. I do keep them, except 1 that was pretty battered from shipment >_< They're so pretty and also very sturdy, so I could probably use them when I move as a means to take them along safely.

    4. I still have mine. They sit under my end table in my living room. I keep the pillows that came in them... in... them. I have this thing about wanting to keep packaging and stuff for just about everything (like figures and collectibles and such) in the exact same condition that I got them or close, so when I move I pack everything up just like they came. Same goes for doll boxes.

I also like to keep them because they're nice. I will never throw my Crobidoll box out though, it's really nice quality and really cute. I plan to make some beds out of them though (in a way that won't hurt the boxes so I can just slip some fabric off and have doll boxes again) specifically with the Iplehouse box I'm getting in the (near?) future.

    5. Hahaha, I'm the exact same way with packaging. My mom, like, brainwashed me when I was little into believing that I should keep all the packaging for EVERYTHING in case I decide to sell it later. :XD:

I keep my dollieh boxes so if/when I sell my dolliehs, it'll be there for the buyer. I keep clothes and accessories in them awhile.

    6. I keep them the way they are to store dolls clothes inside and if I need to bring one of my doll in another place its always useful.

    7. My girl sleeps in her box, and I plan on doing the same with the rest of the dolls I will own. I keep my girl's extra wigs, face protector, and extra feet in her box with her as well.

The boxes are so big however...I'm scared they will take up too much space xD

    8. I kept my box. It's a kinda bulky Luts box, but it turned out to be the perfect place to pack my poster tubes when moving! XD; I kinda feel like the box is an important part of my baby. That's to say, throwing the box away would sorta feel like throwing his feet away or something. Plus it's alway reassuring that I have it in case I ever need it

    9. These are all good points...guess I won't be chopping the lid up for the sake of art XD
I was thinking about making the lid into the roof part of a four poster bed but...it would mean cutting bits off it so I guess I'll find some other type of material haha

    10. I keep mine as a place to safely store and transport my dolls.

    11. I only have one right now, but I plan on keeping them. We'll see what's happened when I have all the 10-ish dolls I want to buy... XD
I think it's good to keep the box in case you end up selling the doll. Finding a box shaped like that would be too much a pain for me. I don't really like the Souldoll box, it's just a cardboard box with a yellow cover, but it's a nice place for storing doll-things. I have the pillows, manuals and extra string and putty in there, and when I move to the city apartment again, I'll keep the face-up supplies there too.
But as said, when they increase, I may get rid of the uglier ones. Meaning this one. ^^

    12. I do keep my boxes (and I don't flatten them to store them), but they're becoming a bit problematic. There are so many now, they pretty much take up my entire bedroom closet. I'm thinking it might be time to at least break them down and stack them. Though there may be a storage unit in my future instead. Or something. I don't know.

    13. I store my dolls in their boxes to protect them from the sunlight and to stop them getting dusty. And they are good for storing clothes and the like too. I actually wish I had more boxes, several of my dolls are second hand and did not come with their own boxes so the are sharing XD

    14. I keep the boxes, however I seem to have misplaced the lid to my Delf box way back lol. My Hound didn't come with a box, just a carry bag (back from ye olden days when Luts sold Dollshe dolls). My Yun was secondhand without box. So really, I only have 2 large boxes, and 2 mini boxes that all fit just fine under my bed. I use the Delf box to hold my 60cm travel bag, but that's about as multipurpose as they get haha.

I imagine it gets hard to keep all the boxes if you have 10+ dolls though. If that were me, I would probably resort to collapsing them and storing them that way.

    15. Absolutely, I definitely keep their boxes. I won't even buy a doll secondhand if it doesn't come with its original box; the boxes are part of the value to me. That way I always have a place to keep the dolls safe and I can always stack all the boxes into the corner of the closet if I need to put them all away for a while; that way the dolls aren't all jumbled into a sock drawer or somewhere like that if I need to put them away for a while.

    16. If I have them, I keep them, (a couple of my 2nd hand dolls came without).

Some of the prettier/sturdier ones I use as benches for my boys to sit on, with the fancy packing pillows as cushions. The rest I have stored in the space behind my art supply cubby in my workroom, (it sits diagonally in a corner so it would be wasted space anyway if I wasn't storing things there). I HIGHLY recommend putting boxes in boxes if it works for you, you'd be suprised how much space it saves!

    17. Yup, same here. I keep all my boxes. I don't fold them down either. Right now I have two. One is a tough gift box I got from a faceup artists when she returned my doll's head. It's now used to hold my CFK ( which is still in pieces until I can get up the moxie to put her together... ).

I use the box to store my doll when I am not playing with it. I have some bubble wrap under the first pillow and sometimes I keep wigs, dresses and eyes in the box on top of the second pillow that lays on top of my doll.

    18. Yes! Most of my dolls are second hand so they didn't come with boxes but my first girl's box is a tad beat up (it's about 5 years old give or take.) and is being held together with duck tape. >.< I know I should throw it away but it's kinda sentimental. ^.^'

It's great storage even for things that aren't for dolls. Plus I have a top self in my closet that I keep them on (no with the dolls in them of course) So, they're pretty much out of the way at all times.

    19. Yup, I have all the boxes from the dolls I bought from a company. The second-hand dolls don't have their own boxes, though. :(

    20. Yep. The Fairyland boxes are quite convenient to store items in that I don't usually need, like sleeping faces, extra hands and stuff. Plus they look quite nice in my bookshelves!
