1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Where do you keep your BJDs' boxes?

Feb 10, 2011

    1. so far I kept them mostly because I tend to resell my dolls very soon after I got them :sweat but now it will be to store my dolls because I have no safe place for them :( (they don't fit on my shelf and it happened many times that things have fallen off it. mostly because of my cats xD)

    2. I've kept all of my boxes so far, aside from the ones that weren't original boxes(shoe boxes whatnot). My first doll didn't come with a box actually (and I ordered her from the company!) she was just sitting in an open cardboard box, all bubble wrapped and whatnot.

As for the company boxes, I have them stacked in my storage closet under my dollies in height order (SD, MSD, YOSD)... idk why, I just enjoy having things in height order.

The only company box that's doing something else right now is my Dollzone SD box, which my kitty enjoys taking naps in. He even hugs the pillow sometimes. :D

    3. I keep my box :) that's where my doll sleeps at night cuz she came with a full body pillow type wrapping so it's kinda like a bed XD

    4. It depends if I have enough space...so if I can't find a place for it, into the trash it goes! I usually don't intend on selling my dolls once I get them... if I feel like selling it during the waiting period, or once I receive them, then I'd most definitely keep the box.

    5. My Iple boys didn't come with boxes, they came with snazzy carrying bags. Much nicer for transporting them, I think! I only have one box that came with a body bought second-hand, and I'm using it to store the body I no longer want. So . . . no, boxes aren't that important to me. They are pretty, but I keep my dollies in an armoire so the boxes would really be pretty useless to me.

    6. I keep the boxes I have for all my dolls. Actually, I think I have a box or 2 that belonged to dolls I no longer own.. The new owners requested for no box to save on shipping.

I also have a few dolls that did not come with boxes when I bought them 2nd-hand.

They are currently not broken down, but it is getting to the point where I may need to break them down or condense them somehow. They are taking up the majority of one of our extra closets & we could really use that space for other things....

    7. I keep the nice ones and put the little ones inside the big ones. Sometimes I use them as risers to sit on or display them. I stash them under tables, under beds or sometimes in closets. I wish I had a warehouse to keep stuff like this and all the other stuff I seem to accumulate.

    8. ///////////////////////////

    9. Most of the time yes. In fact most of my dolls live in their boxes, and I take them out and fawn over them when I need a treat. I find this keeps me from getting tired of them!!! ^^:;

The exception is my Notdoll girl, "Mildred" who doesn't have a box of her own, as she came to me in pieces. She doesn't seem to feel deprived, though. She has an old Volks MSD box she can use (headless) in emergencies, or she could snuggle in with Helka if necessary. Helka's not necessarily snuggly, but she and Mil get along quite well.

My littlest one hasn't a box either, but she lives in the doll clothes drawer. She also arrived without a box of her own.

    10. My husband is in the military so the prospect of moving is always on the horizon. As a result I'm a little manic about the doll boxes. I won't even buy a secondhand doll if it doesn't come with it's original box because It's so much easier and a lot less stressful if I have the box to move them in.

    11. I always keep my doll boxes. Usually I just store items inside it, like doll shoes and wigs.

    12. Like others, I also keep my doll box to store clothes and accessories for my doll. I also store invoices, anything that's related to that particular doll in the box. I'm sure I'll be keeping other boxes when I purchase more dolls in the future.

    13. All my dolls are actually stored in thier boxes due to weather and pets....so keeping the boxes is a must for me!!!!

    14. I have all the boxes my boys came in. That's where they actually are 90% of the time as I don't have a good place to display them that is safe from sun exposure and idiot cat. Inside their boxes is the safest place for them to be considering my cat seems to be able to get into places he's not supposed to and thinks that several of my doll's wigs are actually his cat toys.

    15. Definitely keep mine, I've moved house eight times since I got my first doll in 2005 so I like to know I've got somewhere safe to pack them in case we move again. I keep them under my bed and use them to store the pillows they shipped with, a face protector and some bubble wrap and elastic bands.

    16. Yes! I love doll boxes though hehehe. I also move/travel a lot, so they are convenient when transporting my dolls

    17. I have four boxes and one carrier that my dolls came in, they're stacked in my closet. As I also quilt I fold up the quilts and blankets that I'm not using at the moment and put them in the boxes. The newest box hold all the extra pillows and weird pillow bags the dollies come wrapped in. So they are taking up space but they look neater that having a bunch of blankets piled in my closet.

I also don't plan on getting rid of the boxes. When I considered selling one of my dolls one of the major cons to selling him was losing his box. I didn't want to get rid of was the box cause it was so pretty and was so useful. lol.

    18. I keep the boxes, both because it would feel wrong to throw them away and because I store my dolls in there while I'm not handling them.

    19. I keep all my doll boxes. They are a convenient place to store clothes and accessories for that doll. Also, if I ever want to resell the doll, it's usually sells better if I have the original box (so I keep them in the event of resale too).

    20. I keep all of the boxes, though not all of my dolls came with one (back in the day, for example, Bluefairy sent my May in a carrying case instead of a box). I would be lying if I said that storing them isn't a problem - they are big and continue to multiply. Eventually, I may need to look into a storage unit, as I have no intentions to get rid of them. To save on space, I keep smaller boxes inside of bigger ones, as well as use some for storage of wigs and other accessories.
