1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Where do you keep your BJDs' boxes?

Feb 10, 2011

    1. I keep the boxes since that is how I store my dolls at the moment, they fit under the bed pretty well. Plus I just like having the original packaging as well as the doll (I'm more of a collector than some, though I do play with them.) I wish it was possible to order extra boxes!

    2. If they came in their original company box, definitely! They are often so pretty, like the Littlefee boxes from Fairyland.
I got a lot of my dolls second hand, and in separate parts, so only half of my dolls have their own box or so.

    3. I keep them to store the accessories, of course when some relatives come, my doll will be stroe in it~

    4. Nope, I don't have the space to store them. I keep a few (the kitties have one that is THEIR BED, thank you very much, like I had a choice in that particular decision). But our house has enough clutter in it that I don't need to add more.

    5. I keep the box. :) She sleeps in it. Plus I tend to move a lot, so it is her safer transportation unit.

    6. I use mine as storage. That way if I ever need to ship the doll to someone or move them somewhere I have a nice way of packing them easier.

    7. I keep all of mine, or make one for dolls that didn't come with one. Thankfully those are tinies! They came in handy when we were redoing the carpet in my bedroom, and I had to pack them all up. In fact, I had to purchase some because some dolls did not come in their box.

Most of mine are up in my closet, on the top shelf. Some are under the bed, 4 under the desk, one they're using as a couch, one is standing up. The tiny boxes are in three bags in another room. I need to clean out that room, lol.

    8. The one doll box I have I've filled up with cushions/blankets and made into a bed for my doll; I figured, she'd need a bed anyhow, and it actually looks really nice as a bed >.<
I would always keep them though; in case of resale xP

    9. I have my doll boxes.

I don't use them for anything, however... and they do take up a lot of space. I probably should flatten them. I have most of the shipper boxes, too! *_*

    10. i store most of thier things, like eyes or wigs or clothes, but i do occasionally use them as "beds" by taking thier original pillows and covering them with "blankets" (which are really just scarves).
i have two huge boxes myself, and i'm not hesitant, just unwilling to throw them away. if ever i need to sell them (god forbid) i want to be able to ensure that they'll be just as safe as when they arrived to me.

    11. i keep all boxes, they are very useful! i keep doll stuff in them (gosh, I've got sooo maaany >_<).

    12. I keep all the boxes my BJD arrived in. Most of them fill the whole top shelf of one of the wardrobes. I have never worked on them nor used them to store things (I only use two for this and in one it is not their stuff), but I am starting to think that, with a little work, they could make nice hanging beds at the cabin of the male members of my crew.

    13. Same here, I keep the boxes with clothes and accessories. Those things will have to go somewhere anyway!

    14. More - I keep my dolls in boxes. I don't want to make them get yellow. But @Chel gives me an idea - to keep the accessories there, I can make in one box something like "drawer". Moreover, a lot of boxes are very pretty and it'd be a shame to turf out it.

    15. Yup! I sure do. When they're not on display, I keep them tucked safely in their boxes (along with their clothes, wigs, etc) under my bed.

    16. I keep all my doll boxes for moving or resale. I usually put them up in the attic as I don't have room for the boxes in my room. I have a doll bench everyone sits on..

    17. I kept my doll box and am currently using it to store ALL of my doll's eyes, wigs, clothes, etc. It's very convenient. :)

    18. My boy's box is under my futon/bed empty. I dont kno why i keep it, i will never use it (unless possibly transporting my boys for LOOONG distances) and have no use for it. But a DOD box is soooooo pretty. Thats my justification. Though now i might just stick it in the attic now after posting this thread. Cheers.

    19. Just moved back in with my parents (temporarily) and was glad I kept the boxes to move house with. That said, I've had to downsize my belongings and the boxes are currently stuffed with all my dolly accessories and hidden under the bed. I really need to organise things better!
I only have 2 dolls so they get to stay out all the time. I can't imagine myself buying a doll and keeping it in the box, but that's just me. I know a lot of people can bear to have their dolls out of their sight!

I'm not attached to the boxes, I'd chuck them out as soon as I had a better storage solution.

    20. My family just moved to a new house and those old boxes really came in handy. I hold on to mine--you never know when you might need it, be it for storage (either for the doll or for accessories), protection, or easy transport.
