1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Where do you keep your BJDs' boxes?

Feb 10, 2011

    1. Since I've moved so many times, I use my doll boxes for traveling purposes. One day I'll break down and buy a doll traveling bag.

    2. I save my doll boxes, but wish I could let them go, they take up so much space.

    3. I kept Larten's. I call it his coffin, since it's all silk-lined and he's a vampire ;p Darren's hasn't held up so well. Benny and my RS Dai both came in bags rather than company boxes so I don't have theirs. And I have no idea what I'm going to do about my other dolls' because they haven't arrived yet. :sweat

    4. I kept mine because I liked the way the magnet kept it closed =w=

    5. Oh my gosh I was thinking of this too. I don't want to throw out the box, it have too much sentimental value to it. I still have both boxes. One has storage stuff in it (random crap from my room) and I haven't done anything with the other one yet. My fiance uses her boxes for their clothes, each box they came in has that dolls clothes. maybe I'll do that with my second box, I have her stuff in a shoe box anyway.

    6. I have one so far, so I'm definitely keeping it. ^^ When I look at it, for a second, I'll feel the joy I felt during the box-opening.

I think they're useful to store supplies in (no use letting them sit around empty and taking up space), and if you ever need to sell a doll, you have the box.

    7. i tend to rotate my dolls as to which one i'm currently sewing for/photographing. the boxes make a great place for the ones that are "away on holidays" at the time. i'm lucky enough to have storage space in our basement for the boxes of ones that i have out at any particular time.

    8. I kept all but two of mine and I was bummed out when I couldn't find a way to save those two. Resin Soul used them as the shipping boxes and they were so covered in sticky tape and labels I didn't realize they were special until after I'd opened the boxes. On the upside, each doll came in a complimentary carry case, though I still wish for the protection of the hard boxes. I'll just have to make something, I guess.

    9. I kept my girl's box with the blankets and face mask inside, along with my boy's face mask. But since Xien came with a regular shipping box I see no need to keep his. :\
Every new doll/doll with original box I get I'll probably try to keep the box they come with.

    10. I always try my best to keep my doll boxes. When I sell a doll, I offer shipping with the doll box or shipping of an unnassembled doll to save on shipping costs, so I have some extras lying around. They just sit on a shelf in my closet out of sight and mind until I move, go on a trip/to a doll meetup, or sell the doll.

    11. I've converted my dolls box into his carrying case, I put fabric in and around it and added a strap, now I use it to store his extra clothes/accessories, for carrying him around, and his bed too, pretty much everything!

    12. Yes, I do. I keep the doll boxes and everythings that came with the dolls as well.

    13. My Bobobie didn't even come with a box :( He only came with a little yellow bag. If he had come with one though, I think I would keep it just because it could be useful for storing his clothes and stuffs.

    14. i put my doll beside the table

    15. I keep the boxes if they came with a box from the company...they are actually at my friends house. But Not always it just depends really on if I need a place to store there things they came with or not.

    16. i kept my boy's box and plan to keep future ones, but i'm a packrat and think the boxes are usually pretty looking, plus they're good for storing things!

    17. I have kept my doll's box, she uses it as a bed at night 'cause I'm paranoid about a) her getting dusty, and b) her falling over or something and getting damaged during the night.

    18. I tend to keep them, I'm scared to get rid of them because of multiple reasons, but I like keeping my dolls inside them too. I feel like they're safer from getting dirty from all the pet dander, smoke, and dust. When I move to a new place I might find something else for the boxes as I'd really like to keep my girls out, I'm just overprotective of them.

    19. I keep their boxes. I don't keep my dolls in them, but I do use the boxes to store their clothes/shoes/accessories in. Also, I figure that the boxes will be handy to have when I move/have to store my dolls for a while.

    20. Yes, I do if they come with a box! Mostly just for resale value, if I decide to part with them. Or shipping if I decide to let them go visiting people. Otherwise, my dolls never go back in the box once they're home.

Several of my dolls are hybrids or second hand and don't have boxes.

If I sell a doll and the new owner doesn't want the box (to save on shipping, etc), then I'll throw it away.
