1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. With my first doll, I ordered her then started ordering other bits and pieces (shoes, accessories, wigs, etc!). With my other 2 dolls I did pretty much the same, started getting things for them after ordering, but before they arrived. I make my own clothes so sometimes I start making first from measurements or patterns I find, or wait til they arrive to get a good fit.

I find now though I am planning ahead for my next doll purchases before making them, because I know exactly the dolls I want and I won't be changing my mind. So I find myself picking up fabrics and checking out shoes and wigs and eyes for them well in advance :XD:

    2. I know I ordered the doll first, but I made sure to order clothes soon after, so there'd be some waiting when he arrived. C:

    3. The first outfit I ordered along with my first doll ended up not fitting properly, because the clothing just said "fits most msd", so I make sure to get the doll and take proper measurements before getting clothes. The exception to that is if the clothes are made by the same company as the doll, which would mean they are made with the exact same measurements.

    4. I try to order things so that they come in at the same time.... So it really depends on which ships faster. I do the same thing with eyes and wigs.

    5. I voted doll first even though my Yumi is arriving with a dress, but I have a feeling that she isn't really a cute dress sort of a person and will forcefully tell me what to sew for her upon her arrival. However, I have been browsing the accessory selection for stuff I don't make myself such as wigs (I should learn to make those too) and some gorgeously detailed boots that would be too bothersome to make compared to the price. Anyways, I wan't meet her first and then decide what style she likes to wear. ;)

    6. It can't hurt if my dolly isn't wearing clothes for a little while. She can just wear a cloth tissue toga XD

    7. I bought an outfit and wig before I got my first doll :3 My 2nd and 3rd dolls came as fullsets, so I didn't buy them anything before hand (though I already had a few msd pieces from my first doll).

    8. I buy my dolls and clothes at the same time. The clothes come first anyway, but I don't want my doll to be naked for two weeks. Also, I can't sew well, and getting my mother to sew something for me takes time :sweat

    9. i buy the doll(s). then i'm broke so i can only afford a shirt and a pair of pants xD
so i wait 'til i have about 200$ (to buy the clothes at the same time). but when i have that money, i always end up buying another doll instead!
so at the end they are all poorly dressed xD

    10. I usually buy both the doll and doll clothes at the same time.

    11. the doll as a little faith in face I see more clearly the look I want to give.
I sew and I saw him make some clothes myself -_ ^

    12. I bought them at the same time :)

    13. Same time usually. Even if its order the doll that day and order the clothes right after from somewhere else haha.

    14. Everything, literally everything, but the doll first.

      I didn't do it on purpose. It just... happened. o____o;;

    15. It's different for each doll as I didn't get them all at the same time. Sometimes I bought the clothing first and then the doll and the other times it was the opposite.

    16. The first doll i bought was Nina from Fantasy Doll and she came with a really nice outfit.

    17. My first doll I bought before clothes. As soon as she showed up I went out and bought a Teen Trends outfit for her so she wouldn't be naked, wrapped in her hair.

Now I generally have enough clothes that I can buy a doll without them and have something for them to wear when they get here. BUT, I also have planned dolls, and I have taken sometimes to buying certain clothes for them long before I purchase them. For instance, my next boy is going to be a collector/wearer of beanies. I now have around 15 beanies stockpiled for him as well as a hoodievest and some shoes. I don't think I'll be getting the boy for a LONG time, but at least I have some things for him beforehand ;D

    18. I buy the doll first because it takes me a long time to decide what type of cloths I'd want the doll to wear.
Idk if I'd want a little nude boy on my desk. If it comes with a default outfit if I like it I will buy just so they have something to wear while I wait for the outfit I really want.

    19. Usually I order the doll first and then start ordering accessories. Occasionally I will order something for a doll I have planned in the future, but I try to avoid it if possible. Plans can change and I don't want to buy things I will never use.

    20. When I buy a doll, I generally follow an order:

The head and body are chosen (if separate, or doll, if sold together)
      Payment is confirmed
      Wig and eyes are purchased
      Shipping on doll is confirmed
A basic set of clothes for the body is purchased if the body type is new to me
Clothes are pulled out and customized or clothes are made from scratch (if I already have a similar body on hand)
Packaged is confirmed at local post office
Clothing, wig and eyes are gathered and taken to post office.

I like to have the clothes, wigs and eyes in before the doll arrives. I'd say maybe 95% of the time I've already scoped out things for the doll beforehand and any questions about those items are usually answered beforehand as well. Once the payment/shipping are confirmed, I've got requests to buy those things within minutes, or I'm searching for the clothing on the marketplace/making plans to sew items at home.
