1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. With my very first doll, I bought the doll and clothes at the same time because I purchased her fullset.

With my second doll, I bought the doll first, and then immediately started stockpiling clothes. I had a few options ready before she finally arrived!

For my third doll, I bought clothes first, and then the doll. It worked out well that way for me, because my third doll was not shipped--I bought her in person. It was nice to have clothes waiting at home so she didn't have to stay naked.

    2. I usually order the doll, then while that is being made im ordering clothes, wigs and anything else i can think of...the little trickle of parcels helps the dolly wait...i dont think ive actually ordered anything for a doll until ive actually ordered the doll itself. Saying that i have bought a wig second hand for a doll i havent ordered yet but that doesnt count!

    3. I recently ordered my first doll from Luts, and ordered clothes right after. The clothes are already here, but the doll won't be here for probably six more weeks.

    4. If the doll and clothes are from the same company, then I order them at the same time to save on shipping. If they aren't from the same company, I would prefer to wait until the doll arrives first before getting clothes for it... just in case the clothes don't suit the character due to the doll not appearing how I expected, etc.. ^^

    5. Definaitly clothes first! But I too made some things to big and some to small. When I got my first Ellowyne one of my boys took a pin and made nippy marks on her front side. I have caught all my boys staring at Mei, I try to keep them dressed!

    6. Clothes then doll

I wouldn't want them to catch a cold ... Unless they came with a default oufit

    7. I bought my first doll head before I purchased any clothes. At that point, I was still on the edge about pursuing this hobby. Buying the doll head was like committing to joining the hobby.:)

    8. For my first bjd, I got him with his clothes and shoes together from the same site. :) I really love another bjd too that I have not ordered yet; and I have gotten an outifit and shoes for him!:sweat I hope I can have him soon!!!:blush:whee:

    9. Well, due to past curumstances where I've stocked up clothes and stuff for a doll and then the doll never came, I've decided that I will NOT purchase any items (not any expensive items anyway, I've got a few things for my boy stashed, but all together they total under $10...) until I have ordered the doll, just because if that were to happen for some strange reason I really would hate to have the extra clothes and stuff that were meant for that doll around the house waiting to be sold. :/

I would be willing to order clothes and acc. with the doll though, but that's only if I'd have extra $$$ saved for them. Doll comes first, then, if necessary I will sew clothes myself...and I cannot sew at all...

    10. for my first i bought him and clothing to go with him at the same time, but for the others, they normally come home naked and stay that way for a while.

    11. I don't have any of my "kids" yet, but they all have at least one complete outfit here waiting for them... most have 2 or 3.

    12. It depends on the fact which is more limited/available at the moment. I've bought dolls and clothes alltogether several times as I usually try to make a fullset of the doll and all the accessories provided by the manufacturer of the doll to save on shipping. But since I make up an image of my future doll before buying her (i.e. I make a market research looking for an ideal outfit/wig/shoes/accessories for a particular doll) I often have to buy her outfit first as those I like are usually quite limited.

    13. Either I ordered them with clothes or was quick about making them clothes shortly after they arrived.

    14. Doll first. I'd rather have the doll be naked then have clothes and no doll.

    15. Doll first, then clothes. Mainly because I need to know what the doll "would like" to wear so to speak. The one time I got some clothes in advance my doll rarely even used them. xD That, plus I sew a great deal of things myself; and in order to sew I prefer to have the doll in person instead of just their measurements.

    16. Doll first! Then scrabble to get the kiddo some clothes. xD

    17. First I bought a doll and while she was made by the company I ordered clothes and wigs for her.

    18. Doll first, while I'm waiting for him to arrive I'm trying to make some clothes.

    19. I typically buy the doll, then start buying or making clothing. Although, when I'm looking at a doll to buy, I do look through clothing I might want for them, and if I see something I absolutely want, I'll buy it, even if I know I may not buy the doll at all.

      I guess I do both.

    20. I was pretty sure I was going to get to order my first doll on Christmas (or if not, then somehow come hell or high water. lol.), and I caught myself purchasing little bits like stockings and shoes, and playing with crocheting a sweater. *fingers crossed* that the stuff fits! lol.
