1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. For me I suppose it will be doll before clothes. I will probably make some clothes for my girl when she arrives and only then buy anything else.

    2. I tend to buy the clothes/accessories first before the doll as a way to kind of keep me on track to buying the doll XD But I don't overdo it. Maybe just one fullset outfit first before she arrives.

    3. I buy the dolls first. Then I buy the other stuff for it like eyes and cloths and hair. The Reason for this is If I do not buy the doll first I might end up putting it off forever and then missing out or something.. also I figure if I do not buy the doll when I got the money too something will happen and I will end up not being able to get it.

Usually though the dolls take long enough that if I buy cloths and stuff a couple weeks later I will get the cloths, eyes, wigs before the doll gets to me so.. it all works out.

When I do get the doll before I get cloths.. I usually just croshet them something quick.. or I do a Make shift robe or something (that's what my newest doll I got yesterday is wearing right now lol).

    4. USUALLY I would buy the dolls first, then clothes, wig, etc., so they'll have something to wear when they get here. But if I'm getting the clothes from the same company I'm getting the doll, I'll just save up a little more and buy them all at once. No point in making two orders on the same company when you can buy it all at once.

    5. I bought a set of clothes first, as a step towards the goal of owning one. Plus, it will be (slightly) easier on my wallet to buy them (clothes and doll) separately.

    6. Got my doll with an outfit together, and didn't buy any new anything else or anything new for two years.
It was a mix of nerves about dealing with websites and that no one I knew was interested in the dolls and/or everyone I knew thought that they were creepy. So just kept mine on my dresser.

    7. Once I knew who I was getting, I plugged in her measurements for dresses and pants, and then ended up buying a totally different doll! Luckily almost everything fit fine, except for pants.

    8. Doll then clothes, for me. I like getting to know just how big the doll is, who the doll is (is the personality and general style I picked working for that sculpt now that I have it in person), stuff like that. And usually when the doll gets here I have something to put them in just so they aren't nude until their clothes do get here.

Now toys and other accessories? That's a different story. I know I was going through my old toys to see what the girls might like before they got here, and what might work scale-wise. Good thing I loved small things as a kid too, lol.

    9. I buy clothes for my doll while I am waiting for them :)

    10. I bought the doll heads first, and then the doll clothes. :sweat The clothes were really cute, and I couldn't resist. I'm saving up for the body now, but I know which doll body I want so I can use those measurements to make sure the clothes can fit.

    11. I bought my first doll with her clothes so I voted with but for my MNF I bought clothes before her and for Mal I didn't buy any clothes until after he had been here for awhile. Alot of it depends on where I buy the doll and the fact that most of the time I need to see what I want for them since I can't find what I need ready made :)

    12. I am commissioning a friend of mine to make all my dolls custom clothes. She would prefer me have them in my hand so she can get all the measurements she needs before she starts.

Another reason I bought the dolls first is because I was having a hard time finding any clothes I liked and I was impatient.

Well, I suppose I actually did buy clothes and dolls at the same time, because I couldn't stand the thought of them being shut away in boxes for months, or sitting around on my shelves nude, so I purchased basic undies for them.

    13. When I bought my first BJD I got her before I got her clothes and she was naked for a while. It upset me to see her naked and not really having the full image straight up. I have since bought clothes after the doll has been ordered/around the same time. That way when the doll arrives I can put the whole picture together straight away :-)

    14. 1. doll.
      2. wig and eyes. (while the doll is being made)
      3. clothes.
      4. face-up (xD)

    15. Doll first.

If they are the first one of their size and/or body type to come home, they end up having a few days of Naked Time before I get some clothes either bought or made for them

    16. I purchased my doll first, but while waiting purchased clothes. The clothes did arrive before the doll itself but purchase wise it was the doll first.

    17. Doll first. I hadn't even realised that she would be naked until she got here, so I had to make a quick makeshift dress and then order a real dress and proper shoes.
My second doll I bought on DoA and the previous owner was nice enough to send me some clothes along, and here I had already gotten shoes for him.
My third won't have ANYTHING and I just ordered him xD
And I already have a wig for my fourth, and eyes for my fifth. How is this gonna end? :D

    18. usually doll first, although I'm trying to get at least one set of clothes at the same time so that the doll doesn't stay naked ^^

    19. Before I bought first the Doll and after the Doll's clothes but now I prefer to buy right away the clothes or Fullset Doll because it is not always easy to find clothes.

    20. Well since I make my own clothes and I wasn't familar with BJD's before I bought my first, I of course bought the doll first. Now that I have several dolls of similar sizes if I buy a new doll I try to work on the clothing while I'm waiting. Although sometimes its just best to wait for the doll because even though I make a particular outfit for them, when they arrive and I put it on it fits but just doesn't suit her/him.
