1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. Clothes, shoes, wig and eyes first.

I like to have a little welcome package ready for my dolls, so they're not bald, naked and eyeless when they come home. :)

At least one pair of shoes/boots, at least one outfit and one pair of undies. + Wig and eyes.

    2. For my first doll, I bought the doll then the clothes, but the clothes arrived first. Aelic came all together, but I didn't buy clothes for him until much later. ((He shared Kiyo's.)) I bought Grimm's hair ((which is pretty much his clothes for now, considering he can't wear clothes)) before I bought his head, but the head arrived first.

So...I'm pretty all over the place, I suppose.

    3. I ordered the doll, and then I ordered clothes before they got here. I didn't want them to be naked! I wanted to be sure they were dressed right away.

    4. I bought a dress first, back when I was still new to hobby and it was SD sized then I got my girl an EID size girl .... yeah it didn't fit. Now I prefer making stuff to fit her and having her body here helps with that.

    5. My first was naked for a month or so when she got here. I bought her in parts, and didn't bother to even order clothes til her body got to me. Also, I was on a strict budget for her, and I had to wait til I had more money. But she didn't mind really, it was warm anyway :sweat

    6. I have always bought my Doll first, then clothes, because each doll has his/her unique personality, and I like to have them there in my sight when I am picking out his/her clothes.

    7. Since I really wanted to sew for my doll and had no idea of her measurements, I waited until she arrived to make and buy clothes. ^^

    8. I like to buy clothes for the doll first but only if i'm absolutely certain i'll be getting the doll. I don't want any of my dolls to be uncomfortable sitting around naked waiting for clothes ^-^

    9. I buy it all at once. I like to have a general idea of what they'll look like before I purchase them, which also helps me choose a sculpt. I usually only buy a wig and shoes with my doll though, as I like being able to make them - which also saves me money. I bought Kadan a pair of jeans and cargo shorts however since I don't know how to make those kinds of clothes yet.

    10. When I ordered my first doll, I ordered her with the default outfit so she wouldn't be nude - so technically, I ordered them at the same time, but because I haven't actually bought any clothes for my girls yet other than what they came with, plus a pair of boots at some point, I am putting this under "bought the doll first".

    11. i bought my first doll first and then the clothes. But now, i bought first the head, then i bought the clothes and now, i bought the body. I found out, it is weird to have a naked doll and you want to play with her or move her from the box.

    12. I just own one doll and her first shoes arrived with her.

Her first wig & clothes (a simple dress) had been finished on the day of her arrival, with materials i had from old school projects back then. The cloth for her other dresses had been bought one day before I got her, because I had missed the postman in the morning.

    13. my sister let me go thru her barbie stuff, and I even bought a ken for an outfit...none of which has ever touched my boy ever! lol! I was having trouble picking out a name, and trhe outfit I got at volks at pickup basically decided it for me.

    14. I bought My doll and her first wig in the same order I was looking for clothing that I liked and that would fit her and it was about 4 weeks after I purchased my first doll that I ordered her clothes they did get there before the doll though that was a plus

    15. I buy the dolls first, and the outfits.. Well, I make them myself, so there is no need to buy clothes :)

    16. I bought the doll first, as she is on layaway at the moment I can buy her some clothes before she gets here, having a naked doll is weird for me lol.

    17. Exactly what I'm doing right now :) months in advance I hoard massive amounts of fabric and it's so easy when there is a sale going on in my favorite store XD

    18. If there is an outfit for sale from the place I bought that doll from that I like and can afford, I'll buy that with the doll -- especially if the doll comes in a size I don't already own. Otherwise, I buy the doll first, and then either use the time between ordering and arriving to do some research and find clothes that will fit or I put up with having a naked doll for a bit while I try to make something.

    19. You know this is a very interesting question. Because if I get a doll first before having the clothes and goodies in my hands it takes me longer to figure out there personality then if I get the clothes first. I still have dolls with no names, well maybe 2. But they have left over clothes on them that didn't look right on someone else. But yeah Im looking at them like something's wrong and I know it weird but I feel their not comfortable till I get their look right! But I don't want them sitting around in a box or just naked. So for me it's better to get their clothes first.

    20. I think it depends to be honest, I've had Nancy for about four months now and she's still in a dress I've borrowed from my friend and have only just scraped together the money to buy fabric to make her anything. However, at the moment I know I'm getting the D.O.D Luke but, since I know his measurements, I also picked up fabrics to start making clothes for him so when he arrives I'll hopefully have his full outfit all ready for him. I don't make a conscious decision about which I'm getting first I think, sometimes you see a doll you fall ilove with and just have to get right then and there but sometimes you know that there is a doll you're going to get and, whilst saving up for it, you have the time and measurements to sort out outfits.
