1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. Both together at the same time from the company with my first doll, I ordered a wig too so that I would have everything I needed to start with but the dress and wig never arrived so I ended up with a naked bald girl and had to make some clothes and buy a new wig for her. I didn't buy any clothes for my new girl when I ordered her though, she's an awkward size and I didn't really like any of the company clothes so I'm making her clothes myself now she's here and I can work out the fit.

    2. My first doll was a gift thankfully the friend who ordered him warned me and I was able to get clothes in time. I had his wig for about two months before the actual doll. I actually slept with the wig on my bed because there were many nights I'd fall asleep playing with it.

I have a friend though who ordered a doll (Illusion Spirit Muka) and clothes at the same time from different companies the doll came from illusion spirit's site and the clothes from alice collections. The clothes took a month longer to get to her based on her own mistake.

    3. I ended up getting my first doll and her clothes at the same time, all together in the store.

    4. The first few things I ordered for my first doll were shoes (that I know she hates), stockings (which are pretty big), and a wig (that was too big). So when she got there she had no clothes (I quickly measured her and threw together a small dress) and was very naked XD.

Jump to now, I am going to be placing the order for my third doll and have already bought her a beautiful wig, epic shoes, and am getting her basic jeans (that certified fit the senior self girl). Not to mention the luts event means an event head (who will need a body eventually ;) )

So it is all a matter of taste. Sera got her very first bought outfit for her 1st b'day, but it took that long for her personality to shine through. Not to mention new cords and shoes she'll actually wear.

    5. It depends on the BJD. If it a character I've already in mind I bought the outfit, eye, wig first. If it's a doll I didn't plan to buy in the first place I buy all the things after the BJD.

    6. Definitely the doll. But after the doll buying I immediately go to the BJD-shops and buy for the doll all props: clothes, wigs, shoes etcetera, because I have the doll's image in my head. So they - doll and clothes - arrives to me about at the same time, though I buy the doll first.

    7. When I got my first doll, I kind of failed at the whole clothes thing so I had to dive right into learning to sew her stuff because shipping items to here is really kinda expensive (Not to mention the customs). This will likely change in the future because I've planned my second doll to be the same size (with the same body) so I can either sew stuff for him in advance using my first doll as a model or combine shipping on him and clothes from the same dealer.

    8. Doll, then clothes. I sew casual clothes for my girls myself and buy only things that I can't make at home. Sometimes I buy the gorgeous outfits but only for the present doll in my arms.

    9. When I order my first doll, I will get some outfits as well, but not until then or my husband would get mad at me XD

    10. oh,i bought a lot wigs and outfits when i was waiting my first doll.

    11. I've been making littlefee and pukifee clothes for about two months... And now my little Chloe is on her way here! :D

    12. Personally, I prefer to first pre-order the doll and then accumulate the clothes, wig, eyes, ect while I'm waiting on them to arrive. My first doll was an impulse buy, and was in-stock. I was a total noob receiving a completely blank doll and nothing else xD. For a good two months she sat face-up less and even longer she was nude and bald. I defiantly think the "bonding" process would have been easier if she had everything ready for her when she arrived. My future dolls will defiantly have clothes, eyes, and wig ready for them when they arrive.

    13. I ordered the doll and some clothes at the same time, though not from the same place. That meant that the clothes, shoes and wig all arrived before the doll - which made the wait difficult!

    14. I bought my doll first, then the clothes a few weeks later, so I know that the clothes I wanted fit the doll I bought. The clothes arrived before the doll did, so I could dress up my doll right out of the box!

    15. I always buy the clothes first ... I don't know why ^^' ... I think I'm addicted to doll clothes and shoes.

    16. I always buy my dolls first, but the clothing always arrives first, haha! At least my dolls aren't nude for a while.

    17. It really depends on whether I know how the doll is in person or not. When I buy a certain doll I planned and have seen or have/had, I can freely go on with shopping while waiting for the doll. But when I don't know what to expect by a new doll, except for the wig and eye size, I'd rather stop myself from buing untill I see the doll and can decide for her looks and sizing issues. :)

    18. I'm very impatient when it comes to new dolls, even if I haven't had any incoming in a long while. I always always buy things like eyes, wigs and at least one outfit before I buy a new doll, just because I like to have as much ready for them as possible when they arrive. I neglected to that for my first doll, and ended up really anxious to have those sorts of things for him, so now I make sure I do.

    19. I... bought the clothes before the doll ^^; Personally, seeing as I'm already going to wait a long time before the doll arrives, I figured it would be better if I was prepared for their arrival. Plus, I'd have something to play with before they get here xD

    20. Dolls first. For one thing, I want to be 110% sure I'm committed to buying the doll before I go spending a fortune on clothes for them. For another thing, it will take much longer for the doll to get to me than the clothes, even if I buy the clothes a week or several weeks after I've already paid off the doll. I like to give myself the time to make proper decisions on what I'm going to get for my little ones, too. So I will always buy the dolls first and then the clothes/wigs/shoes will come later.
