1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I used to be not very organised and buy the doll first, then panic when it arrived and I realised I had nothing for it to wear :/

Nowadays I order the doll and then spend the time before it arrives to buy all the things I need for it - wigs, shoes, clothes etc. Then when it arrives I can enjoy it fully. It's a bit of a disappointment if the doll arrives bald and naked and you can't do anything with it for ages.

    2. I have my one doll and she came head first, literally lol. I got her head and then her body, then clothes. So she was naked for awhile, she has some clothes now though I am still waiting for some stuff ^^.

    3. Doll first. Mine actually came with clothes and hair that I loved, so I didn't have to worry there. But with my girl, I bought a full set, so I don't really have to worry, but I will be buying/making things for her to pass the time until she arrives.

    4. For my latest doll I bought the doll and then 2 dresses pretty quickly after, so I chose the 3rd option.

    5. Hmmm... usually the doll goes first, but considering I plan for my DD Hatsune Miku, Chihiro, to have a couple of outfits here before the grand arrival and you only get to pay the preorder before they send them out... it'll be clothes first in this case?? xD I don't know if it counts, though!

    6. The first doll I ever got -- the only doll I have so far, actually -- I ordered him without getting any clothes. He came so much sooner than I expected, and he ended up naked for weeks! I felt terrible... Next time, I'm going to order clothes along with the doll, so the poor things won't have to sit around naked. - 3 -;;

    7. I bought my doll first and could not resist to buy him a pair of cute payama's so he would not be naked. I only buy clothes for the sizes that I have and often for a specific doll. I have, however, many unclaimed outfits because it didn't work out and I like the clothes too much to sell them. :p

    8. This almost reminds me of what came first, the chicken or the egg! XD But to answer your question, I want to say I got the doll first and then the clothes. (I think one of my friends actually made her an outfit so she wouldn't be 'indecent' when she came home. My friend who owns her brother made her a lovely red Christmas dress. That way the sibs weren't awkward. XD)

However, I do think it's nice to have a stockpile. I was hoarding doll sized props and 'things' like plushies for my girls even before they came home. (I have been known to start collections for characters before they arrive.) I also think having some clothes is nice so you can dress them up.

    9. I wasn't sure on which doll first, and my original plan was to make all her clothes, but I had a little extra cash after getting Clover that i was able to buy her first outfit so she wouldn't be naked after she came home.

    10. I collected antique and vintage doll clothes first and then one day decided I need to display them on somebody, that was about 15 or so years ago and now I have WAY too many of both dolls and clothes.

    11. Doll first, because I think I could make clothe for them later.

    12. Doll first! :) then I would think of clothes that I would want her to wear. Then comes the wig, eyes etc

    13. I got the doll first and then the clothing. That happened with all my dolls except for my DZ and one MNF, who came with clothes from their previous owners.
I'm a bit hesitant to buy clothes etc before the doll is actually there because: Plotted characters turn out different, the size of the doll is off, picky about clothes, I'll make it myself...

    14. I usually buy the doll and while I'm waiting for it to ship, I'll buy and collect clothes and trinkets for it. Sometimes I'll plan out the clothes before I buy the doll and then buy both at the same time. Though for my first doll, I bought his shoes before I even knew which one I wanted, I just knew the general size I wanted and that I wanted a boy. Once they arrived, then I knew I had to order a doll for them.

    15. clothes first. That's part of the fun. Holding clothes in my hands and thinking about my doll.

    16. I tend to buy my dolls and cloths for them at the same time, just so they won't have nothing to wear when they arrive. Plus my mom gets freaked out when they don't have cloths XD

    17. It really depends on the doll, my first girl I had everything set up for (eyes, wig, an outfit, underwear even). Everyone else, not so much, wigs and eyes sure, sometimes clothes (my minis share clothes). I have one doll I have yet to buy that already has a wig, eyes, and clothes right now.

    18. I bought them at the same time because my first one was a Christmas present so I took advantage and asked for them together. Plus I would have felt bad leaving him naked and cold like that. The pants I bought him at first fit too big though!!

    19. Most of mine came from previous owners who thankfully included clothes! :) With the exception of my boy doll, and my boyfriend happily loaned me an outfit for him while he waited for me to find the one I wanted to get him!

    20. Now that I have a doll that'll be here within the next couple of months I can start getting accessories now ;) So technically I got the doll first? ;)
