1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I order doll first, then wig, shoes, last thing is clothes.
If it is a girl, I will prepare a skirt for her homecoming. So clothes use to be the last thing to buy. And many dolls are coming with their own outfit.

    2. I'm slowly working out getting Frankie clothes (she was an impulse buy though... when her owner suddenly put her up for sale I jumped at the chance to have her) but I'm planning on buying Theo this outfit, just because it's limited really and I'm not going to be able to get it for him later. I think that since Theo would be so difficult to get I'll probably be getting him things until I finally have a chance to buy his head. Hell, his body might get here long before his head does. XD

    3. I went with clothes first...I really didn't want to have to explain why my doll has a leetle resin penis. Mmmmboy.

    4. I bought clothes for him at the same time as I bought him so he wouldn't have to be naked when he arrived. *lol*

    5. I ordered my doll before I bought clothes, but I had the clothes at my house before there was a body to put them on.

    6. First of all the dolls. Then, while waiting for them to arrive [like now :o ], which can take a loooong while, I sew some nice temporary clothes for them. By now I've already made a silk jacket and a velvet pullover hoodie for my boy.

    7. It's all about the shoes. I bought shoes first, then got the doll that fit them. I love SD shoes! Only problem is it's cutting into MY shoe budget!

    8. I definately bought clothes WAY BEFORE I got Alexis!! I just didn't want her sitting around in her nightie. (Not that the slips that Volks sends with the SD's aren't pretty...but you know what I mean):)

    9. i buy the wigs and eyes first. Then order the doll..and then start looking for shoes, so that they'll arrive soon after the doll. And as for clothes, I make all my own =3

    10. Of course doll frist, because doll's size may have a little bit different, for example lenth of leg,if you buy clothes first, maybe it'll not fit your doll.

    11. I have some clothes I bought and I have yet to get a doll!! haha

      I am saving up!!

    12. Well, I don't technically buy clothes, unless you count the cost of fabric and the time I spend making them, but I was definitely making clothing -way- before I ordered my girl.

I'm a experienced tailor, and if I've got the right measurements, I can make pretty much anything that isn't skintight. So, my Shall has had clothing waiting for her for months, now, and when she gets in, I'll make patterns specifically for her. ^_^

Now, if I can just learn how to cobble for dolls...

    13. I bought my first doll with the "doll first, then clothes" idea in mind, which ended up with me not bonding with him for a long time because he looked "wrong" and just now, a year after, have finally started buying clothes for him. I have already shopped wigs and clothes for my next doll, and will be ordering her in February, after the clothes arrive :D

    14. XDD well... i discovered dollfies and three days after i was buying my first doll and a lot of clothes for him... so.... yes... both ot them at the same time.. poor little one. i wasn't go to let him go naked >< XDD !!

    15. I have tons of clothes for smaller dolls, but I wish I had bought some outfits for my first BJD.

Its winter and she has on a thin summer dress. I've felt so guilty over the Holidays, beause I've had to put off buying her something. :(

I bought her a pet Gerraff & Hippo to keep her wam. :)

    16. I bought some clothes (and eyes and wig) before my boy arrived home, I couldn't wait.

    17. Both at the same time!
It was kind of a bonus that Iple house had the Fencing suit (a.k.a. Shinigami outfit). I'd fallen in love with their boy body and decided on that. But when I saw the suit, it was just a given that I'd get that as well, and decided I might as well save the shipping and get them both at the same time. :)
Plus, I bought him during their summer special, and he came with some other clothes as well. So, when I opened the box, the boy instantly had a small wardrobe!

    18. I also went with the "doll first" approach...for my first one (Cyndée) and, to make the proverbial long story short, I overestimated the amount of time it would take Volks to process and ship the FCS order by about a month.

She ended up without "proper clothes" for roughly a month :doh .

For my second one (Cindy) I decided to get some clothes first :) .

    19. With my first doll, I bought her and then got her home and went "Hmm... guess I'd better sew something."

After that, if I know they're coming I make sure there are clothes for them when they get here (or they come with clothes and I don't need to worry about it).

If they're an impulse thing, I have a doll size armchair on my sewing table, and they sit there in their undies while I sew them an outfit. :)

Congratulations on being so organized, and that stash of doll fabrics and blankies and stuff is going to come in very handy once you start having dolls move in.

      I wish I'd had your forethought. :)

    20. I only know for sure that I am going to buy a doll when I start buying wigs and clothes for it!
