1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I buy dolls first, then worry about dressing them. I've still got one girl with little to wear because she's just an odd size compared to the rest of my girls! :)

    2. As a seamstress I needed the doll for a model. Then fell in love and now have 3,
      with the 4th in lay-a-way..But it works I tell hubby I need another model.lol..

    3. I bought the doll first and hadn't any clothes for him before he came so he had to be naked for couple of days : D And it sure was easier to get the clothes right size when he was there to model them.

    4. Generally i have bought the doll and clothes at the same time...mainly because i liked the clothes on the website that i bought the doll on so i thought why not get clothes too while i am paying huge shipping amounts anyway. :)

    5. I'd rather make all my clothes myself, so it's way easier if I already have the doll to size everything just right! ^.^

    6. i got my doll first than got the clothes.

    7. I ordered some clothing a few days after I ordered my first doll...and while they clothes is currently waiting for me at the post office, I don't believe the doll has even been shipped yet. :( But at least she'll have a nice outfit ready when she arrives.

    8. I bought both my boys and went crazy shopping for them in the same weeks, shopping for everything from jeans and tees to bookbags and cellphones, so they'd have all they needed when they got here.

      The only thing I couldn't get them was boots, because they were harder to come by in their size, and I didn't want to get a pair for the arrival just to find out it didn't fit, so I waited until IU had them to get shoes of any kind.

    9. With Ophelia it was, doll first and then the clothes.
      But now with my new doll, I've have the clothes first and then the doll xD

    10. I need to have a charcter in my head when I buy a doll, so when i find the doll that fits the chacter, I buy clothes at the same time I order the doll (usually not from the same company). So I would say at the same time.

    11. I usually make a "to buy" list so I buy the doll and clothes/wigs/shoes/etc at the same time, of course not always from the same company and usually the clothes arrive first ^_^

    12. I'm not sure if it counts, but I haven't ordered my doll yet (just two more weeks >.<) but I already ordered shoes for him.

    13. I generally buy the doll first, unless I've been anticipating getting the character for some time and happened to find the perfect piece. Then I have to buy it. :) But I made the mistake of buying things for a doll that hadn't come yet, though he'd already been ordered. When he got to me, I found that the character (and style) I'd assigned him was totally wrong. I still have some of his clothes that he's never actually worn, heh.

    14. I vote for "Doll first, then clothes", but my Jun is the exception.
      Because I was pretty sure that I want her, so I started looking for clothes for her, as well as eyes/wigs/shoes, before she actually came to me.
      But my concept is still that the Doll first.

      Whenever you have the mindset of which doll you want, you'll look for his/her stuffs although you are still waiting for her to arrive.

    15. Exactly.

      For me, face-ups and hair make a big difference on what sort of colours I put a doll in. So whereas a doll-muse may say they'll wear that outfit, when they get here they can snob it.

    16. My first doll was my Petite Ai, Kestrel, whom I intended on turning into a boy.

      I purchased her on e-bay, and didn't buy any clothes for her before she arrived, because I wasn't sure what would fit her.

      Also I wasn't really sure where to find clothes for her.
      See at this point I hadn't joined DoA yet, not even to lurk, nor was I familiar with a lot of the company sites.
      (My first five or six dolls were all bought on e-bay.)

      She actually arrived with a little sunsuit type thing and a robe, very baby-ish and girly looking clothes.

      So I promptly mugged my male fashion dolls for all their baggy shorts, boxers, and t-shirts. Lol! :]

      Appropriate clothes since she was going to be an adorable little six year old boy. ^_^

      Only Kestrel refused to boy.
      She insisted on being a little six year old girl...
      lol, dressed in her brother's hand-me-down clothes. =D

      Her Volks MSD Mario, and SDC Arashi, brothers arrived a few months later. ^_^

      As I recall, I had clothes ready for them, having discovered lemonday's (dollmore's) as well as other people's bjd clothing on e-bay.

      Although, the SD part of Peregrine's SDC label threw me off a bit, so some of the clothing I'd bought for him was too big since it was meant for SD sized. Lol! :P

    17. Clothes first....although I really shouldn't have, because she only tried the outfit on once, and then refused to wear it after that. >__<

    18. for my first boy, he came with clothes since he's a fullset ^^;
      so i'm not sure how to answer..
      since my 3rd boy, i got his clothes before he arrived.. but that was only because i was going to work on his face up personally :D;;

    19. My lilis was nude quite a while, I even posted naked pictures of her on the internet. :wiggle
      It was so long a wait for her clothes to arrive, next doll I already have started buying clothes for to save from this.

    20. I'm saving up for her, and while I save up in my spare time I'm making her clothes.

      But I'm ordering a dress with her, just incase my clothes don't turn out very well. xD;
