1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I bought the doll and then a week or two later I ordered his clothes and wig so I wouldn't have a bald boy sitting around in boxers. So when he gets here he'll be immediately dressed.

    2. When I finally decided I'd get one sooner or later I started keeping things I could use to sew clothes, or stuff that seemed to be in the right scale, just hoping someday I'd have one, but I only started to really buy clothes once I had bought him, to make the waiting time seem shorter and more pleasant I guess, I still don't have that many things though... I'm too picky :lol:

    3. I am still saving for my first doll, but I am going to sew all the clothes myself. I was taught how to do it all by my Grandmother, she is good at it.

      I'll buy the shoes and wigs though.

    4. I haven't ordered my first doll yet!

      However, I've already ordered him a wig and a pair of socks for him, since the shoes are a bit too expensive right now. -Nodnodnod- I'll be making him his clothes, and like you, I've already picked out fabric for a beginning robe! I figure I'll make a robe first, so that way I don't have actual clothes that don't fit very well, since I didn't have the doll to model it during production. -Nodnod!-

      So, I've ordered his wig and socks, and I have fabric for a bathrobe until he gets here, and once he gets here, I can custom make his clothes!

    5. Doll first as I have ordered her and I'm planning to make her clothes as soon as she arrives. I will probably make some sort of makeshift outfit for her so she won't be naked.

    6. I haven't bought my first doll yet (soon...) but I've already bought some shoes, clothes and wigs.

      I was planning on buying everything at once... but then Dollheart started that fukubukuro sale and I thought, might as well get shoes while I'm at it... and then the perfect wig came up for sale on Ebay... and the fukubukuro came and I was so pleased I ordered some more. Gianty snowball affect in progress.

      And now I have access to the marketplace as of today. I'm doomed!:drool

      edit: Ah... actually have to wait until 02/04/07... forgot when I joined :doh. Oh well, I didn't expect to make it to 40 posts this fast either.

    7. I do it all at once now ^ ^

    8. I bought a few wigs, clothes, and a pair of eyes for Em before I got her, and now for the next doll I want to get. It'll be nice to have something waiting for him so he doesn't have to spend time bald and naked, I think. ^.^;

    9. Yeah, I want my first doll to be spoiled. I'm gathering her piece by peice, but starting with the smaller parts like wigs, because the doll herself is going to be the reward for meeting a special goal.

    10. I usually buy the clothes first. Like, the clothes will slowely dirbble in as I save up for my doll. It's really fun that way, I think~

    11. I don't even have my doll yet, but I make clothes for her to pass the time while I wait!

      It's fun making the outfits and accessories and makes me even more excited about getting her.

      It's a nice way to prepare and develop the character more as I think about what she would like to wear, what hairstyles she would have, what she will look like, etc.

    12. Didn´t buy clothes yet, but I will definately buy some before my first BJD arrives.

    13. well I haven't bought my doll yet and I already have an outfit, a pile of material and literally a box full of different accessories and jewelry for him XD I even started sewing him clothes today. I was going to just buy him first and then think about the clothes later, but like you said, I don't want him to be walking around naked.

    14. I bought the doll first. He hasn't arrived yet. While waiting for him to arrive I'm stockpiling a basic wardrobe so he won't be lying naked around the house. Also, I only have a vague concept of who he's going to be and have decided to wait until he arrives. I want to mostly get clothes that will match his personality.

      I don't know if I'd buy clothes before actually purchasing a doll because I tend to change my mind and might at the last minute end up falling in love with another doll instead who is a different size.

      I actually found something in my bead box today that I'm saving for the future when I get my female doll. But it's not really the same as purchasing something beforehand.

    15. I made my dolls clothes as soon as they got here.

    16. Actually, my shoes arrived before my doll. She came as a fullset with one exception, no shoes. I didn't want her to be barefoot, so I ordered shoes from another dealer when I ordered the doll. The shoes arrived first and a couple of days later the doll.

    17. I bought my doll before, because I need to have the right mesurements for the shoes and the clothes. And by doing this, I had the time to choose the right clothes for my doll (the style to match her character, I mean).

    18. depends on the doll, honestly. i had few measurements for Tam, so i bought him first. Cyr was the same size as Sora and Sterling, so he could borrow clothes. Saxon... was my first to arrive with clothes. Sehti i'm still saving for, but he already HAS clothes, and has for some time. o.O;;;

    19. I bought the clothes, hair, and eyes before I actually purchased the doll. (quite risky, as everything was done on e-bay)

    20. I bought my doll first, thankfully. I had a specific set of clothes and hair in mind when I ordered Remy, but when he arrived, I completely changed my mind about all of it! And it all turned out for the better. :)
