1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Which doll do you see the most?

Apr 13, 2013

    1. Littlefee Ante. I see her all the time everywhere. Also Soom Dia, which I really don't mind :aheartbea

    2. I saw a lot of Minifees and Iplehouse around, these times <3

    3. I have heard soooooooooo much about the minifees. They are so pretty though so I can see why.

    4. I think popular molds come in waves; and what was once popular tends to fade out at some point when something new/interesting/more coveted comes along. Personally I could care less what's the "in" thing. I love my dolls that are popular, and the ones that aren't and remind myself that in a few years people will not give a hoot that I own *THIS DOLL* because by that time there is going to be a new doll that everyone loves. That's how collection hobbies work. For instance when I joined this hobby, the Delf line (on LUTS) was insanely popular! I remember losing out on an auction for a Woosoo head that ended in the $900-$1000 range (thank goodness). Now people would scoff at such a price, because while Delf are still well liked they're 'old news.' ...and I don't mean that in derogatory way, but they had their time in the light and people want something new. It doesn't surprise me that Fairyland dolls are the new "in" thing. Fairyland took some of those original Delf fans with them when they broke from Luts, and I see a lot of the same charm in their popular MNFs like Chloe that I saw in those old classic delfs. It doesn't surprise me they have carried the torch for them.

Soom is another example, they started doing some crazy new and innovative things with dolls, and went from this obscure company with really conventional looking BJDs to this fantasy power house that was cranking out hooves, horns, wings, transparent resin... Even if you didn't want a doll like that you couldn't help but see the pages of posts all over this forum about a 'new MD'. And again along with it came the spike in the market where Soom Sard and Beryl fullsets were hitting close to $2500 second hand. Dia's got crazy popular because those who couldn't get a Sard got the Dia... Dia is still really popular. This might be my unpopular opinion, but I think Soom has also faded out some too. Other companies such as Iplehouse are now doing some fancy fantasy fullsets and are a source of competition, fantasy colored resins are being experimented with by many companies, and overall Soom dolls just don't get the same crazy hype they used to when they first started the MDs.

All this to say, companies will get recognition at different times. Those that push the boundaries in engineering their dolls tend to get a lot of recognition because it's exciting to see what these doll makers are concocting. But if you're sitting there trying to show off owning something because popular, or hating something because it's popular... you're wasting your time. Nothing stays crazy popular forever.

    5. I mainly see Leekeworld Mikhaila after that probably Dollshe Saint

but to be fair thats because I mostly subscribe to/check on Leekeworld Art Body and Dollshe threads/groups these days

    6. Chloe in every size, but mostly Minifee. Ante in every size, but mostly Littlefee. I own both, I love love love those sculpts ;)
Lately I see a whole lot of Iplehouse too and the MP is flooded with Soom. And have any of you ever noticed the sheer crazy amount of doll clothes/eyes/wigs companies that have Volks Four Sisters as their model? I'm surprised she didn't get mentioned more!

The skintone I see most of lately is tan. I don't get it, but it seems like everybody and their mom is craving a tan doll!

    7. I see and hear a ton of Blanchet (I think she's a senior from LUTS?) Totally understandable though, as her sculpt is gorgeous!

    8. I actually see so many minifee clhoe @____________@ everywhere XD and lots of Iplehouse also o__o but I understand, they're beautiful ,__, (specially the minifee ♥)

    9. Fairyland dolls are everywhere in the US. Maybe because you can buy them through Denver Doll. Especially Chloe.

    10. I hear about Iplehouse, Luts, and Volks the most out of the companies I've heard of.

    11. I mostly see Migidoll Jina Boys...which is unfortunate that its so popular because i love the sculpt.

    12. For me, it definitely is Latis, lots of Latis :) and volks doll. Sometimes people will only see things they are interested to. So it really depends.

    13. I pay a lot of attention to Luts because I love them so this is probably why but I'm going to go with the Luts Bory! I always thought he looked like a mini mee of one of my dolls and I always catch him. I also see a lot of Volks but once again thats probably because I love them and can recognize their molds easily.

    14. i think it's because until fairly recently tan was a more special skin tone and rare to find unless it was some special run. it was mostly just normal skin or white skin with a few tan or darker dolls. Now that tan is becoming more common people who always wanted tan and never had the opportunity to get one, or just the fact that they've become more accessible/affordable makes people more willing to buy it than before. I know I always admired tan dolls but since they were harder to come by I didn't get my hopes up on having one. Now I'm going to be having my own very soon.

as for the answer of this thread: i have to agree i see a lot of luts bory. migidoll ryu. and i see soom all over the marketplace all the time.
when i lurk the newbie forums i see a lot of mention of bobobie apollo but i never actually seen one.

    15. I see Soom Dia everywhere, and Volks school A and four sisters(especially Nana) mostly in Asian doll community.

    16. I think it is MNF Chloe. She is very common. :D

    17. Funny. I keep hearing about Minifee Chloe in this thread-- but I have to admit, I wouldn't know a Chloe if I tripped over her. :XD: I don't think I've ever seen one. I don't know anyone who has one. "Dolls you see" is SERIOUSLY a function of where you happen to hang out, and I don't hang out in Fairyland or Minifee threads. Actually, I've probably seen her in the many Games threads I subscribe to, but without discussion I wouldn't know.

I see Iplehouse JID Owen way more than I'd care for, because I subscribe to the JID thread and Owen is the current hot ticket.

I also see tons of Iplehouse EID and SID women (which I can't always tell apart either), and the T&A outfits that go with them.

EID men are just all-over popular, though some sculpts are more visible than others.... more Arvids and Rexes than Akandos and Elchanans, f'rinstance.

I see a lot of Littlefees in the Games threads-- but I can't tell any of them apart so I don't know which one I'm seeing.

I see a lot of Volks's SD16 Four Sisters everywhere lately; I guess her star must be ascendant right now. But Volks threads are interesting because you can also be suddenly inundated with a bevy of old-school sculpts/models (SchoolHeads, Tokyo Boys), because the old classics have never stopped being beloved. Then the conversation will shift to SD17s and suddenly there are floods of Williamses and Reisners (with way fewer Alains, Genjis, Shiros, etc).

Generally I stay subscribed to the threads of dolls I own-- so I mainly get to see the dolls I want. :chocoberry I'm a busy girl, must make the most of my DOA time, don't usually have time to browse through things I know I'm not interested in.

    18. Fairyland, Volks, Iplehouse, Resinsoul, Doll Chateau, MNF, Luts, Soom, the usual most well known doll brands.

    19. Minifee Chloe of course. Everywhere. I can see her appeal, but it's hard to find them interesting after so many in my opinion.
She is the most prevalent I notice, but I also see quite a few Dollzone Megi's around. Also some RS Mei's, DC Bellas, and the only place I ever see Soom Chalcos are in the marketplace oddly enough, but I see him enough there for him to come to mind.

    20. Same! definitely MNF Chloe, but I also see alot of MNF Shushus
