1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Which Is More Important To You?

Mar 15, 2011

    1. I like to have something for them when they get home. As a little welcome home gift you could say. And Im usually so excited that I want to start photographing them right away so more outfits and wigs and such the more creative I can be!

    2. Well, somehow I can't stand it when my dolls don't have a wig and clothing when they come home...
      I always order the doll and if I do not like the wigs, clothes and eyes the company has, I order them from another seller directly, so my doll will come home and everything's prepared. ^_^;
Bonding works SO MUCH FASTER for me then.

    3. Depends on the doll, if I ask one of a size that I have I make clothes for when, and if I decide to wait to take action.
The wig and eyes if I have prepared earlier.

    4. The doll is the important part for me :D If I don't have clothing that will fit him on hand, I'll try to buy a pair of pants so he isn't naked, but the really cool clothing can come later :)

    5. Oh i'm perfectly fine with just having the doll arrive safely home. Got my first a few weeks ago, she came with a wig that's it. No clothes. Her official wig (for the character i'm/she's creating) along with clothes are still on their way. But i have loves my doll since i opened the box and experienced that intense resin smell xD

    6. I'm planning on buying everything (wig, eyes, outfit) before I get my next doll and then buying him. ^^

    7. I only have the one full doll (the other is a floating head, but he's no less himself for it!), and he's a hybrid; both of my heads were gotten second-hand, and the body for the one came a while after. I have no experience with full-sets. It took a very long time for them to get any real clothes that actually suited them or fit them, though I was prepared with eyes for the Head Joining Ceremony, and when he finally came together, it was all at once (and then I switched heads, but the same things still applied). I had eyes and a wig for my second head/doll before I even got him. I have clothes for my floating head for when he gets his body. That's helpful, for sure... I had a naked boy sitting around my house for four months. Did not think all that through. Really though, I think it's more fun to HUNT and COLLECT for something you already have, or a doll that you know already is on its way. Completing a collection, I guess. Thrill of the chase. It's like I have to find these shoes NOW because he's COLD, man!

For my next one, I don't know! I might just order the doll and see what I can find for him later. Or I could order his wig now and... OH I DONT KNOW.

    8. I prefer buying full sets, but that's just not always possible. When buying basic dolls, I usually just buy the doll with face-up and extras, such as hands. I don't worry too much about eyes or wigs, as I have quite a bit of wigs and eyes of various sizes floating around. Then, while I wait for the doll, I look for shoes and clothes. Sometimes the doll arrives before I have her outfit, in which case, she borrows one from my other dolls :D

    9. first i will have the doll itself...but i also try to order wigs and eyes, clothes and so on at the same time i buy the doll, but i always buy dolls on the second hand market and not from the company itself.....but i HATE it to look on my dolly if it has no wig or eyes -.- clothes are not so important ^^ but yes....i like it more to have a doll AND eyes, wigs at the same time

    10. I usually have the doll come with just the random wig and eyes....I like to have something for them to wear, so I can at least start to play & take pics when they arrive. If I know they are not coming with a wig, then I usually order one.

    11. depends when i can afford them. But now I think about it I have 3 BJD's now I think if it was your first doll you'd need to buy eyes, wigs, clothes otherwise you'd just feel sad not being able to have a complete doll. but I have a blank head at the moment but I have 3 dolls to keep me occupied while I wait

    12. It really depends. I rarely like the outfits that come with a fullset or I can't afford to buy it so I'll just get the doll and hope for the outfit later. I find that I really enjoy the preparation for a nude doll. Shopping for the eyes, wig, clothes, etc. help me decide his or her character during the whole process. Also, it helps me kill the time while I pay off a layaway or the long wait for the doll to be made.

    13. I think bringing the doll home itself is more important for me. Then you can get clothes that match what character the doll screams at you :3

    14. I would buy all the accessories first before the dolls

    15. I would buy the doll first, that way when they get home, you can figure out they're personality and see which clothes/wig/eyes they would look best in.

    16. My first was sold to me second hand with eyes and a wig. I decided to keep them on her, because I liked it.
For my second doll, I ordered wig and eyes before I got her. So, when she arrived, she already had proper hair and eyes.

But the clothes were a real problem. They were naked for a few month before I could buy them some cute outfits... XD

    17. That would be the doll w/ eyes. I can live w/ my dolls being bald for a bit of time and a few spare wigs here. As for clothes, I can sew basics; and shoes, I hunt for key-chains. Face-up, they can still be their characters respectfully even w/o face-up for sometime. The only thing is that I can't take pictures of them or take 'em out because they are still a blank canvas. BUT if I have the money to buy everything, or most of it, at the same time I would do so. :3

    18. When I got my Zhile (Doll Family Linfeng) I thought that it was so important that he had to have his clothes when he gets home. I spent so much money on clothes that he will never use, because it didn't fit him.

So now, I've learned my lesson. I buy clothes once they are home so that I can really measure them. Plus, I'm generally just happy having them home. I assess their character and then I can decide what their wardrobe will be. :)

    19. I try to have at least the wig and a set of clothes for the doll at home when she arrives. But not always happens...
I can be more slow with the dolls because I like to check the eye size that really fits them.

    20. I like to have wigs, eyes, and a special outfit bought before my doll arrives, but I do love to crochet clothes for them as well.
