1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Which of your family members are into BJDs?

Apr 14, 2007

    1. Well, everybody knows from my id here that my daughter is the true bjd addict in the family. I've bought Kiba and the Piccolo, Gabriel, from her. Love 'em both. She invited me to the NY Dolpa, but I didn't have the vacation time, darn it. Next year, I hope, if she still wants me to go with her.

    2. I....haven't had the guts to tell my parents. :( They know I'm getting a "giant barbie" (as they call it) but I never told them the price lol.

They're still clueless as to why my savings account is kinda low since I've been working 40 hr shifts for the past two months. I told them I had been buying...."stuff." :sweat

So no. No doll people in my family. Though my mama is VERY good with her sewing. ;) ;) ;)

    3. My mom is interested, but would not buy one that I know. My dad is mildly interested, and my brother is "not interested" but he usually comes to take a peek and ask what I'm doing when I'm doing doll stuff. :)

    4. Well my sister is into BJD's. On DoA she's artemiselani. My brother is slowly getting into them.

    5. Before my doll arrived, I was the only one but now that she's been here (and I've reported on the cost of bjd clothing) my spouse has volunteered to try making some clothes!! A step in the right direction, anyway... ^_^

    6. ha ha, none of my family members are. none of my friends are either! i'm a loner in the bjd hobby ^^; but i'm sure once i get my doll my brother will either think he's more creepy than ever or pretty cool. i don't think he'd ever get one though(he spends money too fast to save and i'd probably be taking care of the thing because he wouldn't play with it. though if it was an unoa i would gladly take it off his hands ;p)

    7. Mah sistah! ^_^

    8. No one in my family participates in the hobby, but I was surprised that my sister was so supportive of the idea when I showed her. That makes me happy that she finds them as beautiful as I do. ^_^

    9. sadly, just me. and my parents are still skeptical about why i am planning to buy a BJD.:(

    10. My aunt. She's a longtime doll collector and she's dying for me to bring my first SD girl home so she can steal her. I shall have to be wary....

    11. Well my mom isnt into them but supports me, my dad is just my dad. Most my friends want them now XP

    12. Since making this post my DD has adopted one of my MSD girls and has bought her a couple of wigs with her own money and talked of getting her a face up by new year if she finds this indeed something she enjoys. But so far no picture stories or such, just likes playing with her. :love

    13. No one in my family is interested in dolls at all. But they do appreciate that I am. They notice the artistic stuff I do. Same as most of my other hobbies.
"Good for you! You sew really well, and the dolls look lovely. They're really interesting. But, they're kinda wierd, so I'll just stick with choir."

    14. I never had any family members interested in any of my dolls until I started collecting BJDs, now my mother even wants to get one of her own, which, I have to say, is very cool. ^^

    15. I'm slowly getting my mom in to BJD she loves the Yo-Sd dolls XD

    16. My sister likes to look at BJDs and pullip dolls, but otherwise I don't think she could be bothered to save for one yet (maybe when she's older o.o) My mum thinks they're not worth it Dx Dunno what my dad thinks :o

    17. Well..me and my sisters both have dolls..And my aunt wants one now too..I know if my mom were alive now she'd probably be about as into it as we are and be helping us pay for them. :( I miss her..but ..that's about all of us in the family so far. I'm trying to convert them all into BJD lovers. Muahah.. ^_^

    18. I'm an only child, my papa's a 'simple man' and I don't have the guts to even tell him I spent so much money on a "toy". Mom's ok with it, because the money is going into something other then my favorite fashion (lolita, she HATES it). But sadly I'm the only one around here (as far as I know) who's into BJD's.

    19. An interesting discussion!
My daughter(mid-20s) and I are both into dolls and also discussing what to buy. I don't think I'll OWN a doll, but I will surely enjoy when my daughter does. I'll probably make clothes or accesories though.

    20. Nobody else in my family is "into" BJDs but my sister likes the idea of making things for them. So she's talking about borrowing one of mine and making wings for them, sewing for them, etc. I doubt she'll ever own her own though.
