1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Which of your family members are into BJDs?

Apr 14, 2007

    1. Me and my two sisters
We all use this account (until we realize that it is pointless sharing and get our own)
in fact i am not lilly.hatake, i am her sister^_-
I made my own account today thank God............

    2. The only person around me that are also interested is my sister :3

She is interested and seems to want to buy one.... but will not go against my mom so she will mostly only get one when she gets out of the house in 3 years XP

    3. All my friends and my family members are kind of against it, rather than interested, due to amount of money spent on just buy wigs and dolls.
I have on the other hand decided to sew my darlings' clothing myself, as well as doing the face-ups, since I'm from a poor family. :sweat I remember when i was a kid... My Barbies had very little clothing back then. My Ken didn't even have clothing after I killed them with a scissor. Anyway, i went off-topic.
The answer is simple: None of them. I'm hoping to get my brother interested thanks to all the customizing you can do, but I'm sure he won't be interested...

    4. My elder cousin is a BJD addicted and is on DoA.

She's trying to drag me into this hobby with her. I'm kinda convinced since BJD are so lovely but I'm still saving and looking for my future doll that I will fall head over heels for him/her. So far I haven't find one yet ;(

I have my own separate account from my cousin (but haven't active) but I'm using her laptop XD

    5. I'm buying a Littlefee Shiwoo for My Grandma..but will probably end up adopting it. XD
      My aunt thinks they're cool.

My dad finds some aspects neat. He loves glass eyes for example.
My cousin likes the idea you can give them tattoos and piercings.

But I'm the only person uber interested in them.

    6. My father is into photography, and therefore finds dolls interesting-- not that he would like to get his own, but he is willing to take pics of mine:) I have one year older sister, but she doesn't care... I can ramble in her company though, she thinks it's a cool hobby, just not for her (she likes painting, drawing).

    7. None of my family is into them and they don't say much about my doll. I've been into miniatures and figure collecting for years so when a bjd was added the last time they came to my apartment my parents didn't even give her a second glance.

Most of my friends are the same way. Only one of them struck up a conversation about her. He was interested in the clothing I made and asks about it every now and then. He has no interest in getting one himself (yet) but enjoys looking at mine.

    8. My mom used to like them, but the more I got, the more she dislikes them xD. I had been considering buying a Jonathan Rhys Meyers Minimee and having a faceup and outfit commissioned as Henry Tudor (she loves him in that show) but now I don't think she'd go for it. My father thinks they're interesting, and is more into the business/profit side of it - he's a CEO and we're actually developing our own head sculpts.

    9. My sister is interested, but doesn't have the money available right now to get her own. She'll probably eventually end up with my faceup practice head (which she really likes) on an extra body I expect to have floating around at some point. I'm seriously considering asking her about the 27cm Bobobie dolls, though. The price is good and they can wear Barbie clothes, so that might be a good way for her to go. Plus they're adorable!

    10. I'm so glad to say that my daughter, who is now seventeen and has never liked dolls
before has fallen in love with BJD's. She'll be getting her first a Homme Ducan for her birthday. This is very exciting for me to be able to enjoy this hobby with her! :) I was fortunate to be able to go to IDEX last week and attend the
Elfdoll meet. They had lots of clothes for sale and I picked her up a great outfit and boots for her Ducan. She was so happy and we can't wait till he arrives.

    11. My little sister (who isn't even really related, but more or less my dearest and best friend from high school that is over so much and loved so much that we pretend like we adopted her :P) is more obsessed than I am! She wants 8 of them and has expensive taste. She wants a Dream of Doll. I don't blame her, they're some smexy dollies! *drools*

My fiance keeps talking about getting one, but is sort of creeped out by dolls in general (typical boy)...

My Aunt thinks I'm insane, my grandparents just nod and smile. Mamaw in particular though likes a lot of the stuff I do. I think she wants one of her own.

Thats about it, everyone else just sort of ignors my hobbies.

    12. sadly, none.

    13. None of the members of my dad's side of the family are interested. They all think I'm crazy and I need to spend my money on something else. ((But then again, they think that about whatever I like...*sigh*))

On my mom's side, my aunt thinks they're cool. My lola loves my little Puki Piki and my Bory. My cousin and his boyfriend are totally interested. ^^ They were there when I ordered my girl and they liked the 2008 Breakaway. ((Simply because "she" looked like a character in Tekken that my cousin is obssessed with..I didn't have the heart to tell them Breakaway is a boy..)) My mom has taken a liking to them. She makes my dollies clothes as well as fusses over them. I showed her the elephant doll from Dollzone; she adores it.

    14. I think my mum is interested in BJDs. She knows how restring dolls, so is offering to help me when I need to restring my boy's body. she flipped when I showed her a Puki Pongpong picture.

    15. None of my family members would ever actually a buy a BJD, but all of them support me purchasing them. Well, minus my brother who thinks it's a waste of money. Everyone else thinks they're beautiful.

    16. My mom has one I think, but I dont talk to her so IDK, she may have sold it

    17. My dad is a bit skeptical about the whole doll thing, but my mom is fairly into it... sort of..... They've capped me at 2 dolls, they say not till I'm older should I be getting another one..... (Cough... I have two on the way... ) They can't actually stop me, except for the guilt I'd feel if I went against them.

    18. none of my family wants me to have a dolly, they say that their just a waste of money...:((

    19. It is just me! hee hee :fangirl::D:sweat:):aheartbea:...(:doh

    20. Neither family or friends are into BJDs. Some of them think they're cool but way too overpriced, and they question my sanity.

My grandma visits mine every once in a while and keeps trying to teach (*cough*force*cough*) me to make clothes for them, and my dad will tolerate anything that makes me happy. He actually really liked the PukiPuki I had and told me to show "the little one" to anyone who came to our house. :XD:
