1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Which of your family members are into BJDs?

Apr 14, 2007

    1. None of them, but they accept that they're something I do.

    2. No one else in my family or friends is into any sort of dolls.

    3. I was really surprised when my sister said she liked BJDs Ö "If I had the money, I'd buy one!"
Yeah, she spends money like crazy. Too bad XD

    4. I don't know about my parents because I haven't told them about this hobby yet.
But my older brother knows and there's some dolls that I've showed to him that he really likes which makes me happy ^^

    5. No one in my family agree with them, but they don't dislike me for buying them either.
My parents pretty much call them a waste of money, but don't complain seeing as I pay for them.
But my sisters find them scary or freaky =(
=) But all in all I'm okay with it

    6. My little sister is. She doesn't have one yet but steals mine frequently.

    7. well no in my family is (or living that is)
but my doctor loves dolls! she thinks my baby, duchess is so cute! :D

    8. I'm an only child who doesn't really have contact with any of my cousins - they're all much younger than I am and live in the Channel Islands.

Neither of my parents are BJD people, but my Mum is very keen on helping me knit things for them and my Dad does scale aircraft modelling so he's got the smarts for this kind of thing :) And the expensive kitted out workshop ;)

    9. None of my family are into BJDs, unfortunately. :( My mum resents them, and is adamantly against me getting one. I guess I'll have to keep trying to convince her!

    10. None, all of my family thinks I'm weird for being in this hobby...So it's just me >.>

It'd be cool if they atleast understood these dolls though. But I can't ever see my sister or my mother collecting them. ^^

    11. Just me and my mom, I got my mom into it a few years ago when we got her the dollfie of her dreams, a Volks Shinsiya elf, and now she wants another one!

    12. My family supports it a bit also. No one in my family really wants to talk to me about the hobby other than my grandmother who I think at least thinks they're SOMEWHAT interesting. She talks to me about them and even sewed Momoko a dress for me as a surprise!! I've always been very close to my grandmother and i think that anything that means a lot to me means a lot to her, she's just that cool.

    13. At this point absolutely none. My parents only put up with my hobby and I feel they still secretly thinking it 'odd'.

I do have a very very distance relative (I think) that likes and owns dolls (no bjd though). I basically met her for the first time at a dinner with my aunt and uncles family. I brought my boy along to show them and low and behold this distance relative had 'dropped in' and she absolutely feel in love with him. I really couldn't have been more surprised.

    14. My little sister is a doll person. She loves porcelain dolls more than anything though. She likes to sit with me and look at the dolls, she's only 11 so its had for her saving up for her own dolls though, so she wont get one for a few years. She can't wait for me to get one though, she wants to see one up close.

    15. My oldest cousin. If it wasn't for her input and photos of these dolls, my mom wouldn't have even batted an eye to them nor would she have thought about ever letting me get a doll that expensive.

    16. my sister is into BJDs.
my husband isn't,but like to take photo with bjd.

    17. My husband likes them. We decide on which doll to get together. He also helped me with my first face-up and body blush, and takes the photos of our dolls. My mother is into them too, but has not bought one for herself yet. She's quite content with making clothes for mine :). My brother likes my dolls but does not want one for himself; and my father and sister show very mild interest.

    18. My niece was the first to get one, then I got mine and my daughter got hers and now my sister-in-laws wants a Puki. All together we have 10 dolls. We have Sunday dinners together and bring all the dolls to play with. It is so much more fun when you have other family members that like the dolls.

    19. Actually, I think most people in my family like my dolls. While nobody other than me actually has bjd, my little sister and my mother really appreciate them. They saw pictures of a tan Supia Yisol and fell in love with her. My older brother also likes how some of the Soom monthly dolls look. I think my grandma really likes bjd too.

    20. Most my family only goes as far as mild interest. Though my youngest sister really likes some of the smaller dolls and my nan is always helpfull, as is my bf :)
