1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Which of your family members are into BJDs?

Apr 14, 2007

    1. In my family, i think no one... as soon they know the price of the dolls , but maybe, my father he has the soul of a child, and sees everything with positive light, he likes my PVC figures and find some of them intriguing so i guess he can like BJD's...:aheartbea

    2. My mom thinks they're absolutely stunning, but is appalled by the pricetag (I accidentally told her how much Luo would cost... oops!). At least she seemed okay with letting me split my paycheck between bank and Paypal and letting me save up that way, so that I won't be totally broke when I get enough to buy him XD I think that if she had spare money to invest in them, she'd totally get one. She likes pretty, cute little knickknacky things.
Unfortunately when I showed my dad a picture of Luo, he didn't know it was a boy... XD; At least they both think the tiny clothes/eyes/wig I got my Elfkin are absolutely adorable, haha.

    3. My mom and my sister both looooove them. My dad is slowly being converted. My cousin is the one who instigated all the madness c:

    4. No one in my family likes them. Most of them think they are pretty, but not worth the price. But no one gives me any flack about it, so it's okay.

It would be awesome if someone shared the hobby with me, though. But at least no one is against it! :)

    5. none of my family members nor my friends are into the hobby. my family members think i am wasting money, so i am afraid to tell as well.

    6. My sister is kind of intrigued, but my parents think they're creepy.

    7. In my family just me for now :-)

    8. None. My mom hasn't seen my doll in person yet but she's seen her default picture and she said "pretty". I thought she would say "creepy" so this kind of surprises me :fangirl:. She hasn't asked about the price at all but she knows it's more than $100 and the fact that she was ok with that kinda surprises me as well.

    9. My husband is getting into dolls. He is planning on ordering his own Minimee relatively soon and has already been picking out eyes, wigs and clothing for him.

My mother-in-law is also quite fascinated with my dolls as well. ^.^

    10. My husband humorously puts up with it. He loves me enough to share my excitement, though I doubt he'd ever take initiative and look into doll stuff on his own. He is very much into making props, sculpting, halloween, embroidery, CNC machines, and whatnot -- so he can and does make little projects for my dolls.

He was really worried about doing mods to dolls, however. He was afraid to help me because he might "ruin" my doll and make me upset. When "Wolfboy" officially became our experimentation doll for mods (we dyed him and gave him custom ears) I "gave" him to my husband. Oddly enough, the distinction that it was "his" doll made him much more relaxed about the whole thing. He wasn't as worried about messing up his own doll, after all.

EDIT: Oh, and my husband is planning on building a zombie BJD for himself. He likes zombies and such a lot. He is the king of halloween. :)

My mother is willing to give me advice and help me with sewing stuff, which I am not great at. She also took me down to the fashion district in LA a few weeks back to hunt for some very hard to find, very specific material I wanted for an outfit. We walked for like five hours, but we found it! I really appreciated that.

    11. My 'ex-stray' cat is very into Esmey, he thinks her mohair wig means she's prey.

    12. Well I think i got my Sister in BJD's as well. I got 3 friends now getting them so soon my little spot on this planet will have lots of people to talk to about Dolls. Hoping to start a doll meet in the Barrie area as soon as my doll get here. :( I hate waiting.

    13. None, that I know of. My cousin who passed away would love these dolls, she owned her own doll shop in Brooklyn for a long time.

My mom plays with my dolls sometime, but I doubt she'd ever get one because they are expensive.

    14. hmm well I've just bought Mum a DOT Lahoo head, does that count? She fell for his sculpt when we were at a dollmeet, and I shall buy the rest of him for her too, she's been such an amazing Mum through some very tough times so she deserves it, I don't think she would have anymore though

    15. well my familly thinks it is crazy for an adult to own dolls and are not into the bjd hobby, but my daughter is, my husband thinks i have gone mad and dislikes my dolls...

    16. None. My family all think I'm crazy for spending any ammount over 20 bucks on a 'toy' because...a twenty dollar plastic doll would be better> >< eesh.

    17. So sad...only me ORZ''...
My family thinks bjd only expensive barbies= =

    18. None of my family even knows what they are, I think. XD Hopefully my new doll will arrive in time for my next trip home so I can bring her along to introduce her to everyone. ^_^

    19. None of my family are into BJDs. My mom was pissed at me when I bought Raun because she thought she was a waste of moola.
i'm sllooowwwllyyy pulling my frends into this delightful viciuos circle.
The only reason I got into anime was because at the start if grade 7, my friend kelsey introduced my to naruto.
I was obsessed for about 6 months then moved on to death note.
now her name is Mello, and I'm Mikami.

      :3

Oh and a nother freind's name is watari.

      hurhur.

    20. My little 11 year old niece, Fell in love when I first got my BJD two and a half years ago, She is so mature for her age, She gets to come to our local meet ups, Because she is so good. <3 I love her to death too. One of my friends likes them. Wants a MNF Shushu, But would rather see me buy one than buy one herself.. My parents like their looks. Bought it. XD But my recent Best friend, She is in just as deep as me. ^^; It wasn't my fault of course, Though she found out about it all by herself. And we have become great friends over the last year. ^^
