1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Which of your family members are into BJDs?

Apr 14, 2007

    1. My sister, Lorentine, was the one who brought me into the doll community in the first place. We both have dolls :)

    2. My whole family does not like that they are anatomically correct

    3. None of my family shares this hobby. In fact they probably look at me like I'm werid because one they cost so much money and two I'm not the type to like dolls especially since I hated dolls when I was little. I was always into plushies.

    4. Not sure if she counts, but my youngest sister loves these dolls. Granted, she's only nine and very girly so she's bound to like dolls like these. If she were a bit older (13-14) I'd help her get one.

      When I was picking out my first doll, she really liked Leekeworld Mabel, however now that she's seen Pukis, she actually wants one. I'd certainly help her with with hobby, but I think she's a little young to really enjoy the sort of creativity that can be had with these dolls. If I lived in the same house it would be a different story. She does have some money saved up, I'd just rather see her become a little more responsible first.

      I hope that five years from now, she'll still like them. ^^

    5. My cousin's into them too (I only found out after seeing a picture of one as her cellphone background XP). We get together to chat about them and exchange clothes/accessories :)

    6. I have no one in my family who is into BJD's. But I don't mind. :)

    7. Actually it's all changed...One of my two SOs is into BJDs now (though doesn't have any as yet), and the other one has been into it for a couple years now.

    8. No one at all in my family has any interest at ALL in the hobby. And I have a really big family. The only doll people are over 70 and into porcelain. I have never liked porcelain. And yet I have so much of it. O_o`

    9. My mom LOVES my dolls XD its sometimes actually quite scary ^^;

    10. As soon as I got into BJD, I brought my young sister into it too. It's always great to have someone closed to share the same hobby. She did the box opening for my boys, Lan and Lian, while I was in HK to pick up hers. So our boys were "born" on the same day, the day I came back from HK.

    11. Both my mother and father are reluctant to see me spending such a large ammount of money on dolls. However, they don't really ridicule me for it... anymore. :)
      I said to mom, "You probably think I'm nuts-o for buying expensive dolls."
      "Meh, you probably think I'm crazy for buying your brother expensive gun replicas."
      "I guess it could be worse, I could be into buying and restoring classic cars."
      "That's true. You've always been a free spirited child tho. I never would've guessed you'd need your doll fix when you were fifteen. You hated dolls when you were younger."
      "Barbies are stupid."
      "Well, as long as you are sure you want to go through with it, and you take good care of them and earn the money yourself.... I do think they're cute...."
      "Agreed." (Dad, from opposite end of room, reaading) "Just don't ask me to play with any of them with you...."

    12. :aheartbeaWell I have been into them for soo long and yet am STILL waiting to bring my first one home,
      But so far I'm really the only one I know that likes them enough to buy one, but My 12 year old sister has recently found interest in them
      And I was surprised but In not time she came up to me and said, "I'd like to save up for one"

      So far she has more than me in savings and is almost half way there to her angell studio MOMO that she has fallen for,

    13. None of my family are into bjds as I am, but I think my mom is the one who really loves them, too. When I buyed my first Pullip, she said she would buy a whole collection of them if she had the money. Then I bought my first bjd and I can't even describe how my mom loved her, she even sometimes went to my room and talked to her and put her into different poses. Someday when I earn a bit more money I definitely will buy my mom a bjd, maybe an MSD sized.

      The rest of the family don't really care. I've never asked money for bjds, so my hobby doesn't affect them anyhow. My granny thinks the dolls are pretty, my brother has been interested in seeing my dolls. I've shown dad some bjds that I want on the internet and he is good saying his own opinion, this has helped me in choosing which dollie I'll be buying next. My boyfrend doesn't like bjds but he has no problem with me collecting them and he considered buying me a Pipos Bao for Christmas (I won't let him to do it because that Bao is so expensive ;)).

      They're actually pretty supportive and I really appreciate it. :)

    14. My sister likes the Pipos anthros (and most other anthros, is fact), because they are... uhm, not that human-like as far as I understood her. And she found several other dolls to be rather attractive over the course of time, although she did not like them at all at the beginning.
      My mom likes the photos and she took a liking to my doll once I dressed her up.

      My dad has no idea I even have them, but this doesn't bother me at all ^^;

    15. None of mine! And they don't understand my hobby! :(

    16. None, really, although they aren't against them per se.

    17. My step sister is very interested in joining this hobby... but she's still in the "research and learning" phase. I let her play with mine all the time too... hehe I'm a terrible influence.

    18. my daughter is into bjd, so we share clothes and stuff.

    19. None of my family members are really into the hobbie. My sister thinks they're gorgeous and my mother thinks its great that my intent is to pick up sewing for the dolls. (And she'll be helping me. Hurraayy)

    20. Non of my family are into bjd, but my boyfriend is still ok with me collecting them, so long as i leave him space for his star wars :)
