1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Which of your family members are into BJDs?

Apr 14, 2007

    1. I have a few friends who are mildly into their dolls... I am definitely the most in to them out of my group though. My little brother (he's six) loves my dolls. He's always hanging around me when I have them out and has awesome photoshoot ideas. He even kisses them goodnight every night before he goes to bed if they're out (which they usually are- my dolls get a lot of attention). It's so adorable and I always tell him that they said goodnight to him too. My close friends also tolerate my endless BJD babble, so that's great. I wish I had other enthusiasts, but at least I have what I have!

    2. My brother is the one that is into this hobby. In fact, once he gets a job he's going to save up for his first BJD.

    3. The only person that I can say that's into BJD's in my family would have to be my mom. She's the only one who really supports me in it lol.

    4. my sister likes them and babysits mine often but has yet to have one of her own

    5. My mum definitely. Everyone else in my family thinks they're weird but she always loves helping me with sewing projects for them and has even bought little prop sized items or furniture for them. She gets me

    6. None of my family members are into dolls, they don't even remotely understand why I collect them because they are not "practical". My mom doesn't really spend money on anything artistic (though she used to), and my dad is more of a car guy. My brother, well, he's very much into himself and how to make himself look more "swag" and BJDs are definitely not that in his opinion. I think BJDs are pretty cool though ;) My fiancé is the most supportive, and even though he doesn't collect them, he is always willing to help me get that doll I want, help me pick out accessories, and offer his muscles for restringing :)

    7. My sister is sort of in the hobby. She has a souldoll lupinus that I handed over to her years ago. I couldn't sell him with my other dolls since shed always loved him so much. She used to play with him more, but he's mostly just on display nowadays. She doesn't shop for him or photograph him or anything. She will talk bjd with me though, so that's good enough for me. My mom has always enjoyed my hobby from afar. Shell come over to see when I get a new doll or a faceup finished. She's helped me sew some outfits, and has offered to help with my new girl.

My fiancé actually financed my last doll minus like $50, so I'd say he's supportive. He demands before and after pictures of each faceup. He bought me all of my art supplies and keeps pushing me to try to take commissions. Which I think he pushes the commissions thing so he won't have to shell out all my doll money haha! But he had been sending photos of my latest faceup to his family members to show them off, which I find sweet. He seems very proud of me. I think it makes him happy that this hobby makes me happy. If I could get him INTO the hobby with me, then life would be a dream sweetheeeaaart.

    8. My mom loves gets a kick out of my dolls, she's always asking me to tell her names of websites where she can buy my dolls outfits and then send her pictures of them wearing the clothes.

    9. I have an aunt that used to collect dolls. I think she might even be into BJDs had her eyes not bugged out when she found out the price tag. I'd consider getting her one, but...she does not take care of her belongings at all, and I could not spend several hundred dollars on something I know would not be taken care of.

Other than that, I don't know of any family members of mine that are or would be into them.

    10. All of my family members like my dolls in one way or another, though my younger sister (not much younger than me) really likes bjd's and I've actually bought her all the ones she owns, she and I love looking at new releases from smaller companies together and wishing we could buy them all~<3

Most of my dolls are being left to her in my will, the others might get donated or possibly sold since the rest of my family probably wouldn't want them as much :sweat

    11. My oldest sister likes BJD too, she recently ordered her first doll!! I'm really excited about it^o^
My little sister likes BJDs too, there's a dollie she's been eyeing for a while hoho.

    12. My siblings are very supportive of my interest in BJD's and look forward to the day when I'll be able to get a body for my Migidoll head. However, they're not into BJD's nor would they necessary want one for themselves. Although, my younger sister does show some interest in wanting to have one of her own. ^-^

    13. I'm alome in my family. So, my mom thinks that hobby is for children =__-

    14. None of my family members are into the hobby specifically, but my little sister has been wanting a doll since I got my first. My mom thinks it's creepy, but my dad thinks the hobby is really interesting.

    15. My twin sister! ^__^ And my Mom has starting making dioramas too.

    16. No one but me. My son is supportive, though, and interested in their design and customization. He sometimes asks about their stories.

I'm glad he doesn't want his own dolls, to be honest. I couldn't afford it! ;)

    17. My sister! She had 3 and then i fell in love so she bought me one!! I absolutely love her sooo thank you to my sister for getting me into bjds!

    18. My mother and young sister like and admire my dolls but they don't collect. Sometimes my mother sews some clothing

    19. No one in my family collects ball jointed dolls, and I'm sure they would balk at the price, but my hubby supports my hobby, and my mother in-law is a bit amused by my bjds if anything.

    20. My sister used to collect bjds before leaving the hobby. Now I am the only bjd collector in the family.
