1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Which of your family members are into BJDs?

Apr 14, 2007

    1. One of my sister collect BJD. :whee:

    2. None of my family collects BJDs, however my mother has borrowed one of my boys to try and see if she is going to pursue the hobby. She have had him for around half a year now and she shows no signs of wanting to hand him back. My father often fiddles around with the dolls when they visit me so although no one collects dolls right now I have an expectation of my mother starting to collect soon.

    3. Just me so far, but I am okay with it as long as I can keep my dolls out around them!

    4. Me and my 15 year old daughter do our bjd hobby together. My husband is not interested in dolls for himself, but is always happy to check out our latest projects and is super supportive and encouraging of the creative work we put into our dolls. He's really impressed with our daughter's faceup skills and with all the detail and handwork I put into making miniature clothing and wigs. Our bulldogs seem to be the only ones in the family who find the dolls unsettling... at least my big SDs, who they kind of avoid. Daughter-unit's MSDs don't seem to bother them. They're very particular puppies in general tho...

    5. My daughter is the only other person in my family who owns a bjd, but many of the others are both interested in learning about them and supportive of the hobby. I haven't heard anyone say they find them creepy or anything. Some might think its weird for an adult to collect "toys", but they keep it to themselves for the most part (I guess they know I don't care either way) :)

    6. Nobody else in my family collects dolls nor to I know anyone personally that collects BJD's. However my father does have a model railway and collects expensive model steam train locomotives, for which there are some parallels, eg the cost, customisation etc.

    7. My mom always liked them, but recently she decided she wants some of her own! I got her hooked now, and she actually started planning for two! : D

    8. none of mine are in the hobby but my dad is supportive of it

    9. None of my family are into BJDs :sweat But my mother appreciates and respects my hobby the most, and she likes listening to me get excited about it. She doesn't really get it, but she makes the effort to and asks me questions and lets me show her all kinds of things. Maybe one day I will convert her over to the doll side~

    10. For the most part my family is more supportive than active in the hobby. My mom does play a more active role in the hobby than the rest of the family does, buying me clothes and wigs and the like, and she freely admits that she likes my dolls. But for the most part she just supports me and helps out when necessary.

    11. None of my family are into anything remotely like BJDs or dolls. My parents still confuse my BJDs with Pullips.

My dad--to the extent it can be a hobby (it isn't totally his day job)--is into farming.

My mom is into interior decorating.

My sister is into acrylic painting and makeup.

    12. Haha, I actually met my husband through a meetup that was organized right here many years ago! We arranged to find each other at the meetup so I could play around with his MSD F-09 (I was considering buying one myself), and we became good friends very quickly. Eight months later, we started dating, and now we've been together for almost 10 years! We've both drifted in and out of being active in the hobby, but love having the dolls around even during lulls in activity. Roo, the F-09, will always be extra special.

My sister did buy a doll when we were younger, but her interest was casual and she eventually sold him. My parents think Elly (my Yo) is charming, but don't really care either way about the rest.

    13. Sadly, I'm the only one in my family who's into bjds, and dolls as a whole, really. I gave my mother a doll for Christmas one year, because she really wanted one, but it wasn't a bjd. ^^; However, I do consider myself very lucky, because my mother and my brother seem to at least really enjoy seeing my collection and seeing what I'm doing with them. :) My husband is also very supportive and likes to spoil me by buying me dolls or things I want for them whenever he gets the chance, too. ^_^

    14. none :...( although my mama does like reborn dolls

    15. I also don't have family members who are into bjd, only close friends. But my mom really likes my bjd's and the outfits I sew for them and she supports me so much ^^

    16. Unfortunately none...my young sister keeps saying I am wasting too much money and my parents don't even know how much my dolls cost...and I will never let them know. (even though I am just spending my own money!)

    17. None of my family really collects BJDs but my sister fell in love with an anthro BJD recently (I loved it at first sight too), she convinced me to buy it and she even gave me part of the money so I would be able to purchase it. She is so in love with it I am considering giving it to her so she'll become a collector too.

    18. I got my mom into them last year! She has 3 dolls now ;)

    19. Me, myself and I :abambi:
My family thinks it's an expensive hobby and will nag at me when they see something new appearing at the doorstep no matter with a smiling or a grumpy mailman.

But just 2 years ago, I found out that my younger cousin is interested in bjd but do not own any. I was tempted to gift her 1 of my doll for fun but in the end did not :sweat
