1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Which of your family members are into BJDs?

Apr 14, 2007

    1. My dad isn't into them persay. He does like them for his creativity and obsesses over printing one and printing things for them. He likes them artistically. But he is who i go to when I want to show off my dolls.

    2. My mom thinks they're a waste of money :sigh but my grandma thinks they're really cool :D so at least one of my family members shares the interest though she would probably never get one herself.

    3. None, all my family actually often making jokes about my dolly obsessions. But I know they support me with my hobby, there was one time where my mom even showed my doll to her friends, I was kind of shocked since I haven't finished her clothes but still pretty happy :)
When I was having trip to Japan with my families, they also give me free time to let me wander on dolls stores, though I can't spend much but I really appreciate the time there.

One of my best friend is quite knowledgeable, but have no interest in owning one since dolls is thought for kids and she consider herself as not too creative for the hobby. The other best friend thought the dolls too creepy, but have no problem with mine and pretty much supportive.

I feel pretty blessed to be here and have my family and friends support :)

    4. None. My family has a complete lack of comprehension as to why I " throw all my money away on dolls". Which is a part of why I rarely see them.

    5. My mother loves them, but she can't really collect them because my dad hates them. So she only owns 2 YoSDs which I gave her as gift.
My husband likes and tolerates them, he loves most of my dolls (even he thinks I have too many; he is right) and when I started the hobby he also joined and got a Iple Jessica, Luts Bory (he LOVES Borys!! quote: "one cannot have too many Borys"), a Dikadoll Mini, Dollzone Dawn and a Dream High Studio Ben (and he is already calling my pre-ordered Dream High Nolan as "-his- new Elf" -_-)

    6. ha ha... none. my mom never said anything directly but i could tell that she thinks it a waste of money. 2 of my sisters thinks they are pretty, but just at that. my other sister is afraid of them, & my brothers don't really care about my hobbies.

    7. I contaminated my mother with the BJD virus.
She has less dolls than me but she has much more accesories than me (shoes wigs, clothes...)

    8. My sister is interested in getting a BJD. My dad was very impressed with some Ringdolls I showed him, but I’m not sure if he would ever actually purchase one for himself. I might get him one for his birthday and make it this character he’s had since the dawn of time. Literally all his customizable characters in video games have looked like that one character, so it shouldn’t be too hard. I think it started as a Dungeons and Dragons character? I would call him a nerd, but I’m no one to talk.

    9. Just me:eek:Neither of my family members and friends

    10. My grandmother loves my bjd’s! She is always knitting for them and asking me to bring them around to her house :3nodding:

    11. My husband has started to get into them now. My first bjd was a male doll and he wanted a girl who we found secondhand but was really his decision (she wouldn't have been my first choice) and I term her as his. Now he keeps telling me which sculpts he likes and who he wants for Christmas. We're both very creative and I think that pulled him in :)

    12. I wouldn't say she's into BJDs, but I share pictures of mine with my mom and she finds her cute and is happy that my hobby brings me some happiness. I don't see her ever getting one though.

    13. Only my mom knows about my dolls. I know that she probably wouldn't get for for herself, but I know she likes the dolls that I have.

    14. My mom loved and was supportive of my dolls before she passed away. I wish she could see the ones I have now!
My boyfriend tolerates them, I've yet to get him to get one of his own.
No other family members left to support my hobby...

    15. My cousin got me into the hobby tbh. And now I’m trying to drag my boyfriend in as well lol, though I don’t think it’ll happen, he is a bit more interested now than before :p

    16. My twin sister is the only other one who has bjd's. Everyone else in the family either doesn't know we have dolls or thinks we're weird for having dolls...

    17. No one in my family is interested in me or what I do. I guess that's better than family members telling me these dolls are a waste of time I suppose. It's been kind of lonely though.

My partner thinks I'm totally crazy for getting these dolls but he's very tolerant. I can leave them out in the open if I want. At least the tiny ones so far. I'm lucky in a way. My son is too young (1) to show genuine interest but he likes to poke them and giggles when I move their joints.

    18. None of my family are super interested in the hobby, but my mom is incredibly supportive and gets excited about the stories I make up for my dolls. I think my dad might think it’s a waste of money, but he doesn’t really say anything along those lines.

    19. Just me! Although my mother does really like Petunia. My dad thinks that they’re wastes of money, but he knows I’m into the more artistic hobbies so he doesn’t complain much.
