1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Which of your family members are into BJDs?

Apr 14, 2007

    1. :/ Well, I guess I'm an oddball in my family. My father is not impressed in the least with them (and even less pleased with their price). My brother finds them interesting somewhat... But that's alright X3 I don't really mind, as long as they don't make undermining or condescending comments about them.

    2. My neice saw my 1:6 Dollfie sitting on my computer and asked me to help her get one. After many hours she decided on a Bobobie Erin and I plan on getting a Tony at the same time so we're saving together.

Actually its more like I'm slaving away at my job and shes saving change... Bless her heart, only 10 and already hooked...Yarr! ^_~

    3. My entire family thinks my doll is stupid and 'not worth $600.' But they also spend all day watching TV and overall being boring. So whatever.

    4. Well, I'm not sure my mum's totally 'into' them, but she seems to half approve! She agreed that Twingkey was cute, and loves their 'little outfits' xD I think she might be getting a little tired of my obsessing, but that's probably just because she knows I have such an obsessive nature. I burst into her bedroom the other day and said "The doll I want is $550, including shipping!" all excited because I thought shipping would be a lot more that about $50. She just said "You could take a trip to australia for that much!" and I just raved on about how that would barely cover the flights, and that $550 was for the whole doll, but with no clothes, yadda yadda yadda. xP

My mum has actually kinda gotten into dolls since I started ranting about them. A couple of nights ago we rescued an old plastic doll of hers that I remembered from when I was little - she's beautiful, and was shoved away in the cupboard under the stairs! Today we took a trip into Wellington to look at a doll collection by a famous kiwi doll maker that was on display at a store, but the store was closed because of Queens Birthday Weekend! My mum was disappointed and a bit angry, but I was just happy that she had made the effort to go look at something I'm interested in (that isn't clothes :P) hehehe!

I really want to get her into dolls. Then she could have one, and I could have one! It would be so fun!! ^^

    5. My mom's actually rather interested in BJDs... She'll give me advice on doll clothes, she'll look at pics with me online, and she's even getting a School Head A Sweet Dreams head of her own this weekend at the NY Dolpa. XD She's planning on making it a girl, seeing as she dislikes boy dolls >_>

    6. None of my family like them. They scare my dogs, my sister doesn't know i've got one cuz she's not at home anymore, my mum thinks it's weird, and my stepdad wants to know why a GUY owns a DOLL.:|

    7. none of my family members, but I think it´s better for me

    8. My younger sister likes BJDs. She wants a kid delph, I feel sorry for her though, she can't work this summer, so she has to hold out and hope for Christmas of her birthday.

My friend, Kate, is mildly interested.

    9. I have a DD who touches them but not into them yet. My DIL on the other hand things they are very cool and I got her going with some small Volks she is doing the faces for me to replicate the Tenchi gang, but she loves Tonner so hoping will lead to actual BJD by Christmas.

    10. No one other than myself...everyone else I've talked to about BJD thinks it's a waste of money ;b They know nothing.

    11. None of my family but some friends want to have their dolls ^^
I will buy mine in the same time of a friend.

My mom and my brother understand why BJD are interesting so they don't think is a waste of money but passion for something (^3^)

    12. My older sister has an MSD Nasya, but beyond that she's not all that into the hobby.

    13. ^^" none in my family, my dad actually has come to acknowledge the hobby while my mom ignores it and my step-dad supports kinda, hell give input but doesnt want anything to do with it >< ---- i have friends i met at cons who support ^^" and 1 friend who wants to see my bjd but i dont think shed be into it

    14. My mom says mine is pretty, but then again, she doesn't tend to tell me what shes really thinking. My Dad hasn't said anything against it yet...
Although I have a feeling I'll get a talking to from them when I start taking him places :sweat

    15. Im all alone with dolls and toys, but my mom likes them.

    16. Well my mom isn't into BJD in particular but I inherited my love of dolls from her and know she will love Amara when she meets her, judging by the oohing and aahing that the photos I sent her incited. She absolutely loved the idea of changing the wigs and eyes and how poseable they are. So even if she never owns a BJD of her own, I know she can appreciate them for the works of art that they are.

    17. Haha, none of them. X3

    18. I know I can get my mother addicted once I get her her very own doll. >3

    19. None of my family members are into them. Only my mom is actually supportive of them, and my dad thinks the cost is crazy

    20. ----
