1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Which of your family members are into BJDs?

Apr 14, 2007

    1. = = my parents gives up on me with the "expensive hobbys" mainly oil painting and like PVC and doll - -b

my younger cousin in China adores Dolls and she likes a lot of things that I love >//<

She is the one who helped me getting my boy, DZ Mieqi =3= and She's planning to get a DZ as well sometime after her junior high exam = =b

    2. Well, my mum was with me when I saw an SD 'in the flesh' for the first time, and she was also very tempted to buy one. But she is afraid people will think she has become senile, she is 74, and afraid people will laugh at her for buying a doll at her age...

I do not have my doll yet, but I think that when he arrives and she sees him, she will change her mind and go for one too!! :)

    3. Nobody in my family is into BJDs, or even understands why I like them so much, but my boyfriend will be getting his first BJD in two or three months. :) (He's getting a CP El.)

    4. I am the main one into dolls in my family, my 6 year old is right there with me and my husband for the most part dosent pay any attition to it exept for when I am drooling on the puter lol. My mom is in the works saving for her first doll so I am spreading the love. I am also lucky to have a close friend that has 2 dolls and got me into them by sending me link after link after link lol.

    5. Well, I'm still awaiting my first bjd to arrive (Tiny Lii and Tiny Near - and I'm soooo excited), but I will probably hide them from most of my family. I have collected other small dolls for years, my family thinks it's silly. My mom always makes some polite comment like "do you really need another doll?" But my son, 11, is the only one who gets some fun from them, he still makes fun of me, but he likes to come over and style their hair and change their clothes, so he might get a chance to play when they arrive.

    6. None of my family members are into BJD. But my mother is supportive of my hobby of collecting BJDs :) She was happy to see I sew my own doll clothes.

    7. my two younger sisters like them.. after i brought home rayne..
the 15 yr old wants a DOC Ducan
the 10 yr old likes the CP Soo

    8. Well, my house is only my parents and I. After I got my boy, my mom loves when I drag him around and will pose him and make him talk. It's so funny. A couple of my friends like BJDs as well. My dad just doesn't get it, but is happy that I got the one I wanted. My boyfriend thought my doll was going to be creepy, but loves whenever I bring him over.

    9. my two sisters are into BJD's, and are actually the ones that got me into them. my parents don't really understand the obsession, but leave us to it xD

    10. My 17 year old sister likes them, but would never buy her own. She just plays with Morgan and tells me which one she thinks I should buy next

    11. My older sister (she just turned 22) has been trying to get into them. But she sucks at saving money. So now I'm holding her money so she can't spend it. XD She doesn't seem to like Miles, but she thinks Zane is hot. X3;; She wants a Hound, which I'm excited for when she does save enough money because I only have CP so it would be nice to see something else.

    12. well... like, uhm... none -_-'

    13. My mom...
She actually suggested I should get one and she is even more excited about getting Petsha than I am.

Already she is planning to make clothes and buy things. And tries to convince me to buy even more dolls.

    14. My mom isn't really 'into' BJDs and I don't really think she'll buy one, but she likes them a lot, surprisingly. She adores Beatrix, anyway, which sometimes is irritating because she will take her and do embarrassing things with her (loudly pretend Bea's talking to her, etc. I guess it's all in good fun, but I find that a little creepy).

On the bright side, she's helping me learn to sew for her. . . :D

    15. My sister and I both love BJDs And my whole family chipped in to buy mine for me, so everyone at least likes them and thinks they're pretty.

    16. My aunt was the one who showed me a sticker album of many BJDs so i got hooked. Now i'm going to get my gram hooked with a doll for her b.day, & my mom's wanting her own after she saw my gram's pressie also my eldest sister's daughter is also into it.

    17. Me and my sister both like BJDs - me more than her, but that might be because she doesn't have one yet. ^^ (She's saving for a Lishe~)

My step-sister is interested in them as well, but as for actually getting one.... her mom won't let her, even if she pays for it herself (D:), so I can't see her getting one any time soon.

As for the rest of my family, my mom likes to tell everyone the price of my dolls, so they all think I'm nuts. D:

    18. Noone of my family is into dolls, my brother hates Ilya the most and my mom thinks I should spend so much money on a "doll". Only my grandmother is helping me, sometimes she's knitting clothes for my two lovely guys.

    19. My mum thinks they are gorgeous.
My step-sister has always loved them, since I think one of her friends in China introduced them to her because there are a whole lot of photos on her QQ site of them.
      My step-mother adores Manabu, I think it's his face-up. ^^
My dad and grandparents like how they work and are amazed that I could save up all that money be myself. :sweat

    20. I think the only ones who know I collect BJDs are my mom and 13-year-old sister. My mom has said they're really beautiful, and I think my sister thinks they are, as well, but I don't think they'd ever get their own. My sister has never really been into dolls, although she's inherited a lot of my old porcelain dolls, and my mom might be interested, but not enough to buy one. Of course, I haven't shared with my mom exactly how expensive the dolls are, either. lol I think she suspects that they aren't cheap, but she hasn't asked for prices.

They both did show up for a dollmeet I was hosting for a few minutes, though, which pleased me. I didn't really think they'd come. They didn't stay long because my sister wanted to shop, but I think my mom at least would come again if I invited her along.

I do have two friends who know about the hobby, too, and one seems to be very interested. If she could afford it, I think she'd probably buy one of her own. So I'm seriously considering getting her a minifee or MSD for her birthday or Christmas. She's highly fascinated by the fact that they're anatomically correct, so I'd probably get her a boy. lol
