1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Which of your family members are into BJDs?

Apr 14, 2007

    1. I'm probably the only one in my family that's really into BJDs. My mom loves porcelain dolls and recently has started to get interested in BJDs (she has one of the VOLKS doll dummies and all 3 pattern books) but I'm not sure if she'll ever be interested enough to actually buy a doll...

    2. My nephew Jay is really into them. He has been since i first got charlie. But now he is seriously in to them. When ever he comes for a visit he will wake me up. (Climb the bed, throw a plushie or just yell Aunty TC). Grab Kobold from the shelf (Charlie i grab charlie) take the suite case from under my bed of their clothes and shoes. Demand that I open it and we will sit down until my but is sore. Re dress them, combing their hair and he will pick out the eyes that he would like them to wear today(I help dress them most the time he just picks out the clothes, today he got kobold pants on ^_^). Then when they are dressed to his liking he'll take them both into the living room to watch lazy town and when he is eatting he tries to feed them too.

    3. i guess i'm the only one as well. My cousin's also into porcelain dolls but she doesn't seem interested in bjds when i showed mine to her. ^^

    4. My mother has been wanting a girl of her own for awhile now. But my father kind of veto-ed that since she has a sizeable doll collection of her own already XD

    5. My grandpa love's my kids! He invites them to come place's when we hang out. The rest of my family are ok...but my grandpa rules!

    6. My sister and I share this account. (She doesnt get on very often though) But we're both into BJDs. My aunt is trying to get into them...she doesnt want to spend the money though.
      And I'm positive if my Mum were still alive she'd be all about having at least 2 of them by now.

    7. My sister is. ^^
      She the one who got me into this hobby first!

    8. The mother of by boyfriend really loves dolls! While I didn't have dolls as a child (except Cabbage patch kids and barbies), she had many porcelain dolls as a child. She actually helped me clothe my doll when I received her! She was in awe about the intricate details of the last outfit I received (Luts korean outfit for kid delf).

      My mom likes my doll, but she's not crazy about her (she's alway been a little tomboy).

      My boyfriend has no interest in my doll whatsoever, but I think he's happy to see I found a hobby and that I love my doll. He was even patient enough to come to the artist store with me today to get supply for my faceup :)

    9. I'm the only one in my family that's into BJDs. They all think I'm crazy for spending so much money on a doll.

    10. I mentioned them to my sister (explaining why I was on ebay all the time). Next thing I new she had ordered a Souldoll Clara - she got one before I did!!!!

    11. I'm working at seducing my sister into it, which probably won't take much effort. I'm also considering trying to bring my younger cousin in to it, as it'd be a nice way to connect, and for her to maybe learn some lessons about saving money...or to get back at my ebul!auntie by making her daughter plague her with requests for doll money.

    12. Oh god no, none of my family is into BJD. They already see my figure collection as a massive waste of money. If I told them I bought a BJD they'd lecture me forever. :/ I attribute that to them being fairly frugal with spending, where I am less so. ^_^;

    13. None. And none of them would get it either, even though my mother is a brilliant dressmaker and one of the main reasons I want a bjd (or two) is so that I can sew and knit clothes for them. Luckily I don't live with them lot so I won't have to explain it to them!

    14. I don't even have a doll yet, but I can almost guarantee that neither of my parents will be into it. The only person I can imagine that would even take interest in the hobby is my sister - and as a matter of fact, I think she just signed up on this forum yesterday.

    15. My boyfriend isn't much into the dolls either. He thinks they're clutter (and I agree, but they're so pretty, I just can't resist...). To be quite honest, that's alright with me. He'd be really girly if he liked BJDs.
      But he thinks it's cute that I'm interested in them, and I don't think he minds that much. He's really great - every doll that I show him, he always gives an opinion on, and he asks questions about them. :) Boyfriend is such a sweetheart! :aheartbea

    16. My mom.
      At first is was awesome having someone near by to share the hobby with. But now, she seems to have taken it over completely... >.<;

    17. Well, my sister is saving for a Pipos Curo, and my son wants a doll of his own too.
      My Significant Other is tolerent of them, but he really likes Unidoll Ark. Sooo...I am saving for the next release.

    18. Well no one at the moment well I am not too sure about my sister. She said she wanted one if it was more human like, like a "manly" one lol. She said she was going to get her boyfriend to buy her one for xmas so I think prehaps she likes them though she did say that she hated the MSD style the cuteness, she hates girly boys D=

      But I don't think she wouls "play" with it, I mean personally I don't see her buying it clothes an carrying it with her I think shes more of a collecter, she collects dragons. But i'm not sure what her intensions are. Maybe onceI get my boy she will warm up more including my family, I'm not sure at all if my mum would be a collecter o.O

    19. My mother and BF is pretty much the same althogh my mother will actually give her input as to what kind cloths would look good on her kins of patterns to make as far as cloths, wigs and hair styles.My BF on the other hand the first time he saw my girl it kind of freaked him out..lol but at the time she had no cloths and her head was not placed on the body just yet. So it was a headless ball jointed body...about the size of a barbie (yes I own a Dollfie Dream not a real BJD yet) I think after I get her some nice fitting cloths and a new wig it won't creep him out quite as much...but even if it does creep him out, he's going to always be excepting of my hobbies.

    20. My mom is alright with it. She likes to make clothes for my girl. The only other member of my family is my Nine year old Niece, who has just bought her first BJD! It's very cool.
