1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Which of your family members are into BJDs?

Apr 14, 2007

    1. My daughter and I are the only BJD lovers every chance I get I am trying to convert my sister, mother-in-law, sister-in-laws, nieces and anyone else.

    2. I dont have any family members that are into bjds, my mum thinks Lilith is very pretty but shes amazed i spent so much money on her. Im sure my mum thinks im a bit potty, but shes been thinking that for years even before i found out about bjds. Neither my brother or sister have even met Lilith yet so ive no idea what they think.

      My boyfriend thinks its a bit odd for a grown woman to have dolls but hes used to that, i used to collect porcilain dolls and his mum reborns dolls. My mother-in-law thinks that Lilith is a bit spooky cos shes so lifelike (this coming from the woman who disects babydolls).

      Im quite used to being the odd one out in my family as ive always done my own thing.

    3. My little sis ((Yako on here)) and I are the ones in our family into them. I'm trying to get my Mom into them XD;

    4. Haha.....none of my family members are into BJDs except me. :D

      My mom and elder sisters teased and asked me that I already grown up
      and why I still wanted to get BJDs. For them, getting BJDs is a childish behaviour. :sweat

    5. My mom always made little comments about dolls she thought were cute, but when I showed her a picture of the Mini Supia dolls, she actually offered to help me buy a Yan... And went on and on about how adorable she is. :sweat

    6. I don't think my mom is into them per say but she is supportive about it... anything to keep her 25 year old a little girl I guess lol

    7. I are alone ;_;

      They support it though, which is all I ask <3

    8. My mother is in love with LeekeWorld little girls...
      She wants to buy then and dress them as nurses.
      She, like, collects little nurse statues..

      She also has some freaky mod jobs she wants to do to make them into patients.
      I wish I could tell if she was joking... <___<;

    9. Erm... Well, I know two family members that want to be in the hobby, but simply don't have the money for it right now - my mom and my aunt. Both major doll collectors of every doll except for BJDs so far. :)

    10. I have indoctrinated my little sister and older cousin into the BJD community (both of them are on DoA). My little sister has a BJD now, and my cousin has twice the amount of dolls as I do even though she started 6 months or so later than I did! O_O

      My mother and grandmother think they are pretty, but don't want one for themselves (partially because of sticker shock I think). ^_^;

    11. I don't think my mother is interested in buying a ball-jointed doll for herself, but she's already buying bits and pieces she finds in shops for Damaran when he arrives - she's got her eye on a small child's armchair for him at the moment, and I imagine that she'll be eager to put him in silly poses when I'm not there to supervise her.

    12. I'm the only one into BJDs here. M mother always tells me I should make investments, and my significant other told me that he hopes I don't buy the BJD, because it kind of creeps him out. heh

    13. my sister temporallelement was in the hobbie about a year and a half before me, and still is^^ Its nice to have someone in the same hobbie as you cause you can ask for their help and opinion, is a lot of fun!

      good subject:)

    14. After I got my first doll my mom seemed pretty interested in these.
      She sometimes brings me some stuff that fits doll and like that.
      I've thought that my mom should have own little doll...
      Other family members are just like "blah".

    15. I deny I have twice as many dolls as you chibilolita, well at least not 'till my latest one shows up.:blush And I don't know, we might be ablr to find on that's cheap and pretty enough for Grandma.;)

    16. My father is not really interested in them (he's only interested in me using my money for things he doesn't think I should be using my money on :,D)
      My mom likes these dolls, she wants one herself, but kinda like me, she's also broke all the time ^^'
      My sister loves these critters, she has money saved for her first doll, we're gonna order him next month <3

      And our cats like dolls too :,D They always nudge my friend's doll and lay beside them :,3

    17. My younger sister desperately wants a WS Dimdoll Angelo (and later she wants a MNF Elf Shushu). Unfortunately though, she has to save up right now for something else. She even has a name(Aiden) and style and everything like that picked out for the kid. I really hope she eventually gets him! it would be so cool!

      My older sister was for a little bit interested in buying Lonan(soullittle Kimmy) from me, but then she changed her mind. she still thinks these dolls are cool though.

      Other then that, nobody that I know about. My parents think that some of the things I do with my dolls are cool, and they're glad I spent my own money on them(and not theirs), but they would never buy one.

    18. None :/

      But occasionally when I'm browsing dollpics online, my sis will pop in and say:
      "OOOH~ that one is so cute :D!"... or sometimes... "ew, how ugly" ^^;;...

    19. My sister likes the idea... she was going to get one. But, I think she just likes looking. I'm not sure.

    20. Since my family's in a sort of 'money-tight' situation, all of the adults are not to be swayed. However, according to my mother dearest's personality, I'd bet my bottom dollar that she'd learn to love them more than I :sweat

      Peculiarly, my numerous cousins all think they are beautiful but a waste of time- all but one, I should say. She is only a few months younger than me, but was persuaded to look at some dolls with me online when we were both bored to the flames of the underworld. We are just browsing sites...when she suddenly tells me to click on a picture of a DOT Shall...Viola! And everytime I log onto DoA at her humble abode she tells me to show her some Shall pics again. I think I've got her hooked!

      Overall, though, money is an issue. Some family members have stated downright that NO, I CANNOT buy a doll.:...( It all brews down to your situation, I guess. It would seem that some are more lucky than I...
