1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Who do you talk to and share you BJD ideas with?

Jun 26, 2015

    1. Mostly with my sister, since she got me into the hobby. We haven't really been able to do many meets or the like for a while, so we just have to talk dolls with each other for now.

    2. Humm, I know your problem, I dont really know anyone that is into the BJD hobby either.. I try to talk to my boyfriend but he isnt in to them much, haha! I guess I started on DoA to make more friends and maybe meet people irl :)

    3. Here, here, here! Lots of people with great ideas and lots of interest in the same dolls I like are here! Also other bjd forums and fb groups. Plenty of places to chat about dolls.

I have RL friends into dolls, but we don't see each other all the time, and often just end up chatting about dolls online anyway, so it's not much different than chatting here (sometimes do it through convos here).

I don't need face time to talk about dolls.

    4. My twin sister ^__^ <3 We share the same likes and hobbies - it is fun to talk dolls together.

    5. If my husband has listened to me brainstorm over doll ideas or glanced at the doll pics I shoved in his face, but he didn't actually say anything back, does that count as a form of conversation?

Otherwise no one yet, really. Being new to the hobby and not even owning my first BJD, I have found it difficult to bring up the subject with my close friends. Right now it's my secret hobby, my guilty pleasure, and I'm okay with that.

    6. I talk to my best friend and also my husband
And ocassinally people I run into at local anime conventions

    7. Mostly people in the forums. :D But there are times I talk about it to my family so I can give them a heads up where my salary goes to. And my boyfriend and some close friend in the office.

    8. I dont have any irl doll friends (yet! I recently joined a BJD group for my state and am intending to go to some meets that are surprisingly close to me!), so I've just been talking my boyfriends ear off about my doll plans recently lmao.

He doesn't quite get the appeal of bjds, or why Im so excited, but he's happy to listen to me be excited. (:

    9. Really, everything I post here, is pretty much all I have in the hobby.

    10. Sometimes I talk with my friends and mother, but not often

    11. Hmm back in the days I spoke a lot with my friends about dolls. Unfortunately as ten years has passed a lot of my friends have left the hobby. Some have left it for good, others for a specific period of time. I have two good friends who still collect dolls and I chat with them from time to time but not as much as I wish I did. I often tell my mother about my dolls, news, what I'm waiting for, raging about taxes and so on but its different to talk with my mom about it and then talk with my friends

    12. I've talked about either my gal or BJDs in general to a lot of people but here are my main:
-My mom: very supportive and lets me bounce ideas off of her
-My brother's girlfriend: supportive, very interested in BJDs, and talks ascetics with me
-My boyfriend: supportive, talks ascetics, and gives me a bit of the voice of reason.. also "As long as you are happy, I am happy" (dangerous words to me :sneaky)
I am lucky enough that I have quite a few people around me that show interest in my hobby, but I am positive only one of them for now is going to end up with one of their own. (One of my aunts fell in love with an Island Doll Mian Mian.. so I'm going to get her one for her birthday.)

    13. posting on instagram, waiting for replies thats it lol

    14. I mostly post things to my Instagram. I also keep a notebook of all my doll ideas and things, so if I'm really excited about a character or something I just draw them a lot. Every once and a while I'll tell my boyfriend or if it comes up in conversation with my friends I'll bring it up. Sometimes my friends actually ask me about my dolls, which I'm really thankful for.

    15. I talk about my dolls with my brother. He knows the name of each of my dolls, and oftens offers to help me when I'm taking photos of them. :)

    16. Anyone who will listen...
Usually's my is my best friend or cousins though.

    17. I don't really know people who I can interact with that collect bjds, but occasionally I will share the end product with my hubby. :3nodding:

    18. I have two roommates who aren't into the hobby, but they'll nod and smile when I talk about my ideas for upcoming dolls or current ones lol. Bless their hearts for putting up with me

    19. I talk with my boyfriend/some friends but they just listen politely so I don't think it counts... It's pretty frustrating not knowing anyone to talk to about these things, actually :pout:

    20. Oh, I talk to pretty much everyone I know about my dolls. A few of months ago, on my birthday, my neighbor held me a party, and we decorated her house with the dollies. I was absolutely charmed, because two of my friends brought their dolls too, one of them even brought her dolls entire wardrobe for us to ooh and ah over, they were exquisite little dresses she had made herself. So much fun!
