1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Who do you talk to and share you BJD ideas with?

Jun 26, 2015

    1. I usually just talk with my friends who are in the bobby, though there have been people I have talked about bjds to that weren't, it just depends who I'm with or messaging at the time.

    2. i am pretty open about my hobby, so i would share my girls to almost anyone except pure strangers. My friends do 'make fun' of it once in a while but theyre actually not serious about what they said, and i would find them funny too!
i feel that collecting bjds is something that i love and is something that is me. So, most of the time i dont see why i should shy off the topic of dolls from people just to avoid getting judged.
My boyfriend is not into it, but is supportive and would hear me talk about my ideas even though he rarely suggest me any ideas. If i go for doll meet, he would ask me how did it go.
Overall im glad im in this hobby even when strangers give weird stares and whispers among themselves during doll meet or when i am bringing them out.

    3. I've got 2 friends I talk to about dolls, but just 1 of em is actually in the hobby

    4. I talk to noone about because usually when i bring tell people i collect dolls they either think they're cool or usually they think they're scary.

    5. I have unintentionally inspired a friend to get into the BJD hobby. At least a year or two ago, he saw pictures of my BJD on Instagram and was really interested in her and so I introduced her to him. I've shared some of the ideas I had and He really liked her and decided to buy one for himself. He bought his first doll just a few days ago and he's really excited and I'm excited for him! He is the only person I know who is really interested in BJD stuff. Other than that I usually talk online about BJD stuff!

    6. I talk to my fiance and my three best friends about my dolls and what I've been working on. None of them own their own dolls, but they help me figure out what accessories to buy and what looks better for the character I'm trying to portray. My friends even go through pictures online and tell me which sculpts they would want if they ever invested in a doll. :)

    7. I talk to either my mum or sister. My mum is happy to listen to my ideas and my sister on the other hand puts up with my mumblings but as she is scared of them, very reluctantly.

    8. Good question... I have yet to buy a doll, but I would talk to myself I guess. I dunno who to talk to about it haha.

    11. I have one friend in real life and she isn't in the hobby. However, she always replies my messages about dolls and stuff, and she also mentally supports me. That's very nice.
I chat with people here a lot. I don't feel lonely even if I don't have friends who share BJD story in real life.

    12. When I first got into the hobby years ago I didn't really talk about it with anyone, none of my friends were interested and some of them even found BJDs weird. For a long time I was only peripherally involved in the hobby, but now I'm seriously getting back into it and I share ideas with my partner a lot, he's pretty enthusiastic about it (especially doll modification), even though he's not into doll collecting himself.

    13. I usually talk to only one friend about bjd often. Otherwise I don't talk about it to other people, unless they ask.

    14. I don't really have anyone to bounce my ideas of of so it's pretty much just me. i do have a friend who has an interest in dolls but she'd no where near as crazy about them as i have .

    15. So far, I talk to my sister and my friend that got me into BJD about BJD ideas. (I think my friend is trying to get me deeper into this hobby...which is kind of working. I spent like an hour or so looking at different sculpts...to add to a wishlist of what I like, but not what I would buy)
Still new to this hobby so do need to talk it out with someone to get more ideas because I'm sure there are some things I haven't even though about regarding my future BJD. But there is something nice about having a friend close by that is in the hobby. But I should probably try to branch out and speak to people on the forum for help. I just have no clue where to start :P

    16. I share with My friends that I knew them froe this hobby

    17. My mom :chibi she’s so artistic and open, so I feel very comfortable to freak out over my dolls with her

    18. I have a few small circles I talk to somewhat regularly. :3nodding: I also have my love, who does his best to give input on what looks good with what. Since my dolls are often based on characters we've made who share the same universe, he's good at helping me figure stuff out.

    19. Total introvert and completely selfish. I keep all the good stuff to myself. :P

    20. Primarily I talk to me sister about bjd stuff. She's as enthusiastic about the hobby as I am even though she doesn't have any of her own dolls yet. I bounce all my ideas off her and we talk about our favorite dolls to each others. Sometimes I'll also talk to me older sister because she can appreciate dolls but doesn't have the same love for them as I do. I talk to my mom about them on occasion, but usually only to show her a doll I bought or my latest customization.
