1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Who do you talk to and share you BJD ideas with?

Jun 26, 2015

    1. I talk to anyone who will listen!!!! LOL I don't know anyone in the community outside of this forum and social media, so my husband and friends get the brunt of it!

    2. I have online groups where I will share bjd stuff with. In real life, I mostly talk to my boyfriend and artistic friends about it.

    3. I talk about them with whoever listens to me, I tend to talk lot about them and I can tell they just listen because they know I enjoy these dolls, it's so funny to me! Don't be afraid to talk to just anyone!

    4. My parents and best friend and that’s about it! My parents don’t really know much about dolls and I mostly talk about my customising projects. My mum does come out with odd things (Me taking doll out for the day, mum: ‘Doesn’t he have a jacket?’, dad: ‘It’s a doll!’)

My friend doesn’t collect bjds but she does like to see their photos and stuff I’m working on, which is nice.

I’d love a bjd friend that I could get really enthusiastic with... :abambi:

    5. I made one online friend right away. We bonded over having the same doll, with very different styles. We have sewn and made things for each other and sent them in the mail. I like to share pictures and ask advice. It's pretty fun since I don't have anyone else in person that shares the same passion for them.

    6. I was very fortunate enough to live in an area that a pretty active community. Now a days, I mostly talk with another collector friend in the local community (a new one since I've moved) but I still have friends online from back in Cali. My hubby sometimes asks questions but he's not super into them so i try not to go all out lol

    7. I talk to my husband and my best friend. My husband sort of puts up with it but will give me opinions if I press him, whereas my best friend is more into it and will let me ramble about wigs and eye colors and backstories. Thank goodness for her!

    8. I only have my boyfriend to talk to, but most of the time he isn't that interested since it's not a hobby we share :sweat
Me too! I wish I was better at making friends!

    9. Normally I keep them to myself but I've started telling two of my closest friends in the hobby. :)

    10. I pretty much will tell anyone who will listen to me ramble.:XD: Mostly though I talk to my sisters who also have a few dolls and my mom, all have been very helpful with letting me bounce ideas off of them.

    11. I pretty much annoy my partner with all my doll plans haha since he is the only one who will put up with my rambling. Sometimes I post on instagram what Im up to doll wise but mainly my partner

    12. My spouse being the one who got me into BJDs in the first place, we share a lot of ideas back and forth. I keep buying patterns for them, and they keep encouraging me to think of more wild things to do with mine!

    13. i talk about bjd with my daughter , my son and my mother ... the others people don't care lol

    14. Only my boyfriend knows about my hobby and I can go on rambling about it for ages and I'm sure he'all always listen because he's adorable and also because he knows he'll get to talk about his hobby just as much next. We are also both into photography and that helps a lot, since we have a common ground we can share.

    15. My family really doesn’t care about my dolls. My mother does like Petunia, though.

So I typically just stick to here for talking about BJDs :3nodding:

    16. My Instagram friends ^^ They are always there to share ideas with me as well and you can find so many friends that way

    17. Whenever I order a new doll I say to my boyfriend: "I have sinned again!". He might sigh in response, but that's all I really talk about the hobby with other people.
For me collecting BJDs is the one thing I do just because it pleases me, so I personally don't really feel the need to speak about it too much with people who I know aren't interested. And I don't have any friends who share the same hobby.

    18. Socializing in person with the doll fam is best, but my sister and mother both have a passing interest in my dolls (They're both fashion doll collectors, so there's a lot of overlap). I also yammer a lot to my partner about them, mostly because he's the only one who knows which doll reps what character.
I will talk about my hobbies with interested people, because most of my coworkers have seen me hauling a resin child to work before. Everyone has a hobby, there's no point being shy about yours.

    19. I post photograph of my dolls on Twitter, Instagram ... Sometimes someone comment my photograph. I don't have real life friend who has bjd.

    20. I really had to think about this one because .... honestly... no one? That sounds a little 'woe is me', but I don't really feel that way! I think I keep a lot to myself in general because I'm the type of person that thinks like I can see people getting tired of me talking but I keep talking anyway. SO, I keep a lot of doll plans to myself or I tell my cats. which ... makes me sound like I talk to myself... which I do :')

I sometimes will mention a few things to my husband or a few close friends but, they're not really into the hobby or dolls at all so they tend to nod and smile and that's it. LOL I'm not huge into social media and my instagram is a little of my dolls but mostly my cats/chickens so I don't share a lot of plans there either. I played around with the idea of starting a youtube channel or something to talk about my BJDs/future BJDs and that way I won't feel like I'm talking into the void. xD
