1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Who do you talk to and share you BJD ideas with?

Jun 26, 2015

    1. I talk about my dolls to my mom! She's not in the hobby, but she generally listens when I talk about dolly things! I do try not to ramble though, as I'm sure it could get annoying/confusing for someone not in the hobby, I suppose.

I don't know anyone else in real life to talk about dolls with. At least not yet! I'm really hoping to go to my first meet soon! I am a pretty awkward and quiet person, but I'm really hoping I can meet some nice people in the hobby irl!

    2. I've been extremely afraid of talking about bjd as I've heard from lots of bjd lover that many judges them and has negative feeling toward the hobby.

But I recently became able to talk to this internet friend whom I've known for quiet a long time. She makes doll clothes and owns bjd herself.
I was really glad and enjoyed our conversation so much, so I'm currently having more courage to reach out to others and talk about bjd more.

    3. I kind of only have my mother to talk to about them...I don't know anyone in rl that is interested in them, and a lot of people I come across online that own them are either busy most of the time (which is understandable) or are unfortunately rude at some point. That's kind of why I'm a bit scared to approach anyone about the topic. Also I'm a little embarrassed to really talk to anyone about it in rl if they don't own one.

    4. My bestfriend who has other dolls, but she no longer actively collects or does stuff with them as she is super busy with other life stuff. She's great to bounce ideas off of and doesent mind listening to me ramble on and on:XD:.

My SO also likes to listen and talk about my dolls and actively asks questions about them:love.
Occasionally I will talk to my sister about them, she will propably get one herself at some point:3nodding:.

Sadly I don't know others with dolls, and I'm too anxious to reach out to anyone online:sweat.

    5. I get to talk dolls with my irl friends! We're a pretty tight-knit group and we're all into dolls to some extent. We hang out every so often and it's amazing :) We all have slightly different tastes in dolls, be it size or style, and so it's always fun to see what each other is up to.

Before meeting my irl friends though, I would talk sparingly about them with my online, non-doll friends. They support me but it's just not the same as getting into really in depth conversations with doll folk.

    6. I tend to talk about dolls with my friends and my mum, usually I bounce ideas off my bestie since he understands the doll hobby a bit better cause the rest of my squad don't quite get it. They've listened to me hem and haw about my not even here yet doll and helped me figure out her aesthetic which is why I love my friends cause they let me infodump without an issue

    7. I have a few doll friends I met online, through face-ups, sales, and so on, but also I am fortunate enough that my best friend is into the hobby. We both own and discuss doll topics all the time, and sometimes have a little get together where we strictly work on doll things. Just a couple days ago, we got our clothes order in, and we unpacked everything to check it out. It's definitely fun to have someone in person you can share the joy in!

    8. Instagram stories and posts, and Discord, these days. I don’t have anyone irl that really cares. They don’t really mind if I do talk about them, but they don’t collect, so they don’t really have anything to contribute to the conversation.

    9. Trying to talk about them to my mother and daughter . I love it

    10. I don't really talk much to my friend or family about BJD since it's not so popular among them, but I made some new friends in the BJD facebook group and discord that I can talk and share about my dolls.

    11. My sister and my friends are all held hostage when I talk about dolls lol. No but fr they are very fun to talk to about dolls and I’m glad they listen.

    12. My former roommate is usually the one I've been talking to lately about my doll (she's the one who bought her), though ever since I decided to buy an Impdoll Mona and make her into Adelle from Bravely Default 2, I've been talking about that idea to a couple of other friends.

    13. I don't really have anyone to share my ideas with that I personally know... My mom thinks it's a stupid (and expensive) hobby, and doesn't approve. My dad will look at my concept art for my dolls, but he doesn't really get it, either. I wish I had someone I knew who was into BJDs.

But hey, I've got you guys!

    14. I only kind of talk to my mom about them, but it's not very often and it usually centers more around my characters rather than the hobby itself. Sometimes I'll tell her my plans for a doll and such, but it's not much of a conversation. So unfortunately, I don't really have anyone to talk to about them. Still, it's nice to talk to her about it even if it's nothing too deep.

    15. Right now, it's just my friend who's also into the hobby, and my other friend who doesn't mind an infodump LOL. They're long-distance Discord pals! Otherwise, my mom knows about my dolls and she supports me; she's not inclined towards crafts or collections, so she doesn't offer much in the way of ideas, but it's nice to have an IRL to go fabric shopping with! :XD:

    16. Nobody :D

    18. I'm like you Moonbabe, I don't have anyone either, that's the reason I left the hobby.
