1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Who do you talk to and share you BJD ideas with?

Jun 26, 2015

    1. Thats sad, can we assume your back in the hobby?

    2. I really only share with my best friend. She's not in the hobby but she likes listening and it makes me happy

    3. Unfortunately I don't really have a person to share them with. I mean, I do share my plans with my partner, but she does not collect BJDs. She has other dolls. Many of my friends are also interested in BJDs so I sometimes share something with them as well. It makes me a bit sad not to have anyone to properly discuss with. (That's why I'm finally starting to get more active in here. I feel the need to talk about this hobby out loud.)

    4. I guess I'm lucky, my area has a decent sized BJD meetup group, I ended up making one on Facebook about 12 years ago or so. So now I have a great little group of local hobby friends to talk about it with. We meet up when we can and talk on fb or Instagram otherwise. Some of us play D&D once a week and sometimes half the time we spend talking about doll plans and purchases haha.

    5. I can talk with my best friend and my partner which are in the hobby too. But other then them I have nobody to talk to. Would love to talk more with others, but I guess I am to shy to talk to some one else.

    6. I have no friends or family that enjoy the bjd hobby. I have only found one friend that I trust who collects dolls but she does not collect bjd so it’s difficult to talk with her about them. Basically I only have this forum since I don’t like Facebook format for sharing ideas. I post pictures on social media accounts but I don’t really interact much.

    7. Mostly just my partner. Years ago we had a pretty good doll community here, but a lot of people drifted apart, and some left the hobby as well... so not so many to talk to any more.

    8. My daughter. She got me into the hobby.

    9. I share most of my ideas with my mother. She isn't in the hobby, but she does support me and likes hearing about their stories. Otherwise I'm with a lot of the other replies here; no specific person in the hobby to share them with.

    10. In real life it’s mainly my sister. Online I’ve got a number of people I’ve known over the years.

I really enjoy interacting with people in the hobby but sadly a lot of my online friends have taken long breaks from the hobby and they rarely post about their dolls anymore :(

    11. I share my love with my husband, my kids, my best friend and two online friends. My daughter and my husband are my best advisors.
Some coworkers know about my hobby and like to see photos.

    12. I share my thoughts, wishes and ideas with my SO. He's not interested in dolls per se, but he's willing to understand me better through conversations about whatever I'm into, and he's pretty much fascinated by the way I interact with and talk about my dolls. I appreciate his support very much.
I've also got a couple of friends in the hobby, but they live in different places so I can only chat online with them. Well, since I moved, I'm limited to internet communication with pretty much everyone, but before that I could discuss dolly stuff in person with my non-bjd friends (who were spared of too much details) and with abovementioned SO.

    13. My sister and one of our friends are who I talk to the most about doll stuff. I have a few friends that humor me but aren't really into the hobby. I would love to interact in person with the local doll group more tho.

    14. Mostly one of my friends. And she is in the hobby too. We talk about cloths and face up quite often. Then I moved to another country so no more meet up any more... :atremblin

    15. My mom mostly. One friend used to be into them, so I’ll show her once in a while. The rest of my friends I’ll creep out on occasion, but it’s not dedicated dolly chatter so much as joking around.

    16. with my friends that I meet on SNS!!(っ •̀ ̫•́ )︎

    17. No friends, so... nobody. :...(

    18. While my wife doesn't collect dolls, we do rp and make stories of our own characters together. My dolls are always shells for either mine or her characters so I talk about and share a lot of my doll ideas with her!

    19. No one I have no friends in this hobby
I use to in the past talk to my sister but found out later on when I told her I was taking a break for bjd stuff for a little bit, that she always thought it was super weird and creepy to “play with dolls at my age”. So lesson learned not to share my ideas or anything bjd related stuff with anyone :XD:it can get lonely having no one in the hobby but I’m use to it for so many years so it doesn’t bother me anymore and I’m content

    20. The BJDs themselves, I talk only on this forum. But I show my sewing and embroidery (so basically my doll dresses) as well as some pictures of BJD I took to some friends. As far as I know, they don't find it creepy, though I always was the "artsy" one of my friend groups, so perhaps they don't really care? The more artistically-inclined of my friends sometimes ask if I did new stuff, though they look at both the doll-scale and human-scale projects.
