1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Who do you talk to and share you BJD ideas with?

Jun 26, 2015

    1. Usually @Alucard521 but sometimes people here in the discussions.
I talk about BJD stuff with some of my other friends or my grandma, but they aren't really very interested most of the time.

    2. I love chatting with people in the forum about my doll ideas, but for serious planning, I talk to my sister. She's just waiting to dive into the hobby until she's paid off her computer.

    3. I only have online friends that I chat with about my bjds, and I am in some FB groups where it is fun to bounce ideas and share them with other bjd folks.

    4. Most of my old BJD friends have either lost interest in the hobby or just don't talk about it as much anymore. Would definitely love some new instant messaging friends!

    5. Well that's hard question to answer... I talk to my bf about Bjd but I'm very confident and weird so I can talk to anyone about Bjd and not feel afraid of rejection. It might be good to find friends on Den Of Angels and to go to conventions! I meet all kinds of friends there. :)

    6. I talk to my boyfriend mostly, he knows all the names. What they do and what they're like as a character. He also knows the setting that I've created just for my dolls. He also knows how much I want to create a story and a comic for them. He also knows my want to have a collection of art of them.

My penpal knows of them, I write about them a lot to him, he doesn't know as much as my guy but he knows enough and knows I love having art of them.

Most friends have seen them, I've told them the bare minimum of it. But a friend I showed my world too.

    7. mostly you guys and once I got to know people in the local doll community, I talk to them as well :D

    8. I usually don't talk to anyone about my ideas. It would be nice to have some dolly friends, but I've managed on my own.

    9. I don't know anyone in rl who collects bjd's. I usually just tell my mom about it, even though she isn't interested lol

    10. I'll be completely honest, no one.

Well, except my mother but she only nods her head and smiles every so often. It's her way of showing that she supports my decision to join the hobby, but she's not interested in it.

I have not met someone in the community who I can discuss dolly topics with or who I can simply get excited over releases with.

Then again, I am a bit of a timid bug. Though, most of my dolly thoughts an ideas go directly on to my journal so that I don't forget. In other words, I guess I talk to myself about dolls? Haha.

    11. I don't really have any "doll friends" yet, although I did drag my long-suffering best friend into it and they are polite enough to listen to me yammer.

    12. No one really, my family doesn't know and my boyfriend is respectful but couldn't care less about my doll stuff lol. I sometimes join in on discussion here and on FB but I really wish I knew someone nearby that likes them too.

    13. Usually my boyfriend or a friend.

My boyfriend isn't that interested in dolls, but when I show him dolls I want he'll go "that is pretty neat" or "It's your money, so if you want to buy that doll, buy that doll!". Occasionally he seems interested in crafting things for them (sewing clothes, watching me attempt and fail at wigmaking, etc) or in trying to sculpt a doll on his own. The later is more of a "I wonder if I could make a doll" than "I really want to make myself a doll", but it's pretty cool anyway, I'd love to see him give it a shot. I think he finds the prices ridiculous tho, but I've never heard him complain that I "waste" money on luxury items, or anything of the sort.

My friend has known about my hobby ever since before I bought my first doll. I used to rant and rave about how awesome they were, and all these ideas I had, and she would always be supportive and excited for me. I don't think she'll ever buy a doll of her own, but whenever I show her a new sculpt I want she'll be all "Oh that is cool, what character is that suppose to be? Did you buy it painted?" etc.

    14. I would talk about them with my mother before she passed and my soon to be 22 year old daughter. My daughter and I both have dolls and all of our family and friends know about our hobby and support it. Frequently they are brought up in conversations. I am always looking to find more people to share in the fun with.

    15. Mostly my roommates. The problem is none of them collect (or even really like) doll stuff. But I tell them anyway because we all have a lot of different interests and they'll talk to me about stuff I'm not really interested in. Although I talk about them so much that one of my friends told me that dolls are becoming an obsession. And I'm starting to realize he is right.

    16. There's not really too many people I share my hobby with. I don't know if anyone local has BJD's nor do I talk to too many people online. My family knows, I might show them my latest sewing creations, but that's about it. I did get my boyfriend into dolls, though, and now he wants one. :)

    17. I actually have a group of 3 close friends who are all into BJDs. We were all friends before the dolls and one of the friends actually got me and another into BJDs. So we have a group chat where we talk about lots of dollie stuff and sometimes we have classes together in school so we talk there as well.

    18. I love this thread it's really heartwarming to see the hobby shared with their families/partners. To add to that I think I talk about it most indepthly to my dad but everyone and anyone here's of it when I'm expecting a package

    19. I generally just discuss my dolls with you guys online XD I do talk about my doll buying plans with my parents as well. Mostly my mother, she's good to bounce ideas off. I don't know anyone in real life that is into BJDs :( I live in a tiny coastal town so I'm the odd one out that collects dolls instead of going surfing.

    20. I talk a lot with my boyfriend about my dolls and doll plans. He's very supportive of me in this hobby.
