1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Why are so many boy dolls so girly?

Aug 10, 2007

    1. I don't have a problem with smaller dolls looking younger - what I don't like is the huge difference between perceived age (let's call it that) of those smaller dolls' bodies and heads/faces. I simply find it kinda disturbing when (to use an example from a few posts ago) the face looks like that of a 14-year-old boy and the body like that of a 25-year-old man. Not everyone likes SD-dolls (or the huge resin-hunks that are the mature-looking Iplehouse guys) and it's really hard to find MSD-dolls with mature-looking faces. I've tried. Mature-looking bodies - no problem. Mature-looking heads/faces - very hard to find. And the discrepancy between mature-looking body and childlike face/head just kinda creeps me out.

(Note: Talking about male MSDs here. It's not that bad with female MSDs, actually - but I'm really not into girl-dolls ...)

    2. Actually, I find with a lot of female BJD's (both MSD and SD size) that there's a huge descrepency between the maturity of their face-sculpt and the maturity of their body sculpt - and I find it just as disturbing in the female dolls as in the males to have a childlike face on a mature-figured body.

And, I can't believe this thread is still going! It seems like I started it aeons ago!
