Why do you choose white skin dolls?

Jun 27, 2014

    1. I thought it might make mods easier since there's white apoxy. It also seems like it would be easier to do a faceup and body blush on white resin.

    2. my frist bjd has white skin. He looks delicate and androgynous... and i definitely want to put dark freckles on his face (which i already did) lol

    3. I used to only like NS dolls but after many years, they look unnaturally yellow. No human skin would be that shade of yellow in my opinion. While I'm not a fan of stark white / paper white unless the character calls for it, I find that WS with a tinge of yellow in them yellow pretty nice. They look more like natural human fair skin; which I find more appealing than the orangey / pinky normal skin tones.

    4. Because they are generally more delicate looking. Plus I like a variety of resin tones in my collection. Whenever I can get a doll in tan, I get that & when the right WS doll comes along, that's the one I'll take. Of course I like the whole range of NS tones too. I don't choose the skin tone to match a character as the dolls don't have a character until they come here. I just really love the WS dolls because they are so ethereal & delicate.

    5. Honestly, my character was a girl that had never left the house. As someone that has never gone outside it had to be a pale doll. When I looked at the sculpt and saw how beautiful it looked in white skin I knew I had to have her in that color. It seemed to be perfect.

    6. I just love the look of white-skinned dolls. They're so beautiful, it's definitely my favourite skin tone. Certain molds look better in other skin tones, for example- if I ever had the chance to get a Souldoll Chiron, I'd definitely get him tan. Lol. He just would look so perfect in tan. For the most part, however, white-skinned dolls always stand out to me more.

    7. I had a very particular, goth-chick type look in mind for one of my characters - very pale with black hair - and PKF Shiwoo in white resin with the default faceup was perfect. Now if I could just get the hang of photographing her.

    8. my choice was based on the characters I had in mind, with one blond boy and a black-haired boy who spent half his life without leaving the house, so when I bought my dolls I chose a white skin tone to reflect that

    9. I think part of it was that I'm very pale myself and partly because I've always been drawn to the pale, Gothic look.

    10. I have four white skin dolls, currently. One was selected in that color as the character for the doll is an albino, so it seemed the most appropriate choice. For the rest, two are limiteds that, in their initial release, were available only in white, so I had no choice in the matter. The last is also a limited which, while available in multiple colors, seemed to fit best with the WS resin available.

    11. personally I like the girl with white skin, bacause when she get her face-up,she will look more beautiful than the normal skin, and I like the boys with normal skin and Bronze skin,I think boy with the two skin will look like a really man, this is the way how I choose the skin color of my doll

    12. I wanted my doll to be different from the others' dolls so I chose WS for my first doll head, even though it's harder to keep and find him a body :3

    13. One of my characters are suppose to be ill, and just happens to be more pale anyways so he has white skin. But I'm planning a tan skinned and "normal skinned" doll too.

    14. I have three white skin dolls :)
The first one was a mistake, I bought the head without specifying the color and they sent me a white one (as a noob I even thought it was normal skin for quite some time)
The second is my Minifee, I was looking for a Minifee Woosoo Elf and it was the only one in the marketplace. It makes sense though since it has vampire fangs.
And the third is my Soom Yrie, there simply wasn't a choice there.

They fit really well in my collection though, because even those that aren't white skin are still quite pale.

    15. Primarily because when I first joined the hobby, anything other than white resin (or "NS") was extremely rare. Many of the darker toned dolls that were available were very realistic in their sculpts which don't suit my tastes. I grew most of my collection before different colored resin became quite common. I only have one doll who actually looks paper white however, all the others (minus the one I dyed) are a more natural looking white.

    16. I like colours to contrast and white resin dolls offer that :) That's as simple as it gets!

    17. I only have one doll in WS and his character is a reclusive assasin turned alchemist/mechanic so he needed to be super pale. Otherwise I wouldn't get it again unless the character NEEDED to be cast in WS.

    18. Bcause they offered me only two choice, either it is ws or ns. I don't want him to be ns since he is an elf, well...if they give me tawny I'd go for that choice.

    19. I'd like to try a WS doll but am worried it get dirty/stained too easily. Anyone find that is an issue with their WS dolls?

    20. I like the white skin because colors look truer and more pronounced. I like the stark contrast.
