1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

  1. The pictures are nice :D

    1. I post if the photo is beautiful--usually because of an interesting background or fantastic outfits

      OR

if the person doesn't post often and doesn't have (m)any replies. I hate to see someone with a perfectly nice doll passed over and ignored because s/he hasn't yet had the time to do fancy photography.

    2. I try to post to threads on dolls that I don't see very often in the gallery... everyone loves an El, a Heath, or a SD10 Megu -- but what about Yomo, Belladonna, or Twing-key?

    3. This is how I often feel too. If someone's commented on one of my pictures, I usually check to see if they've posted something too. I've had many pleasant surprises that way.

To get comments, it's good to give comments. ^_^

And it is nice to just spread the love sometimes. :D

    4. I do the same with my AR Kai and my F14. You almost never see them, so I post them a lot. (Kai for "almost" and f14 for "never" -am I the only owner in the US?) So I try to reply to every Kai post I see. I hate to pick favorites from among my bjd but Kai is probably my favorite. If somebody every posted an old f14 I'd proabably post just to say "hi".

Other things that I like are costuming posts. I sew and I appreciate it when someone who knows how much work it is appreciates my work and I try to reciprocate as much as I can.

Things I don't tend to post replies to: not much, 'cept pictures which are too numerous or take too long to load. I have really slow dial-up service.

Another thing I would not reply to is something I personally find offensive, but I haven't seen anything objectionable on DOA in a long while -thanks Mods!

    5. I...

don't post in the gallery. ._____. *bad person* I have once or twice, but those were generally exceptions. I do not skip over a SINGLE post in the gallery. I look at them all.

u_u I just think I should hold back my opinions/feelings until I get a doll. It almost feels like I need to be apart of the group to leave a proper comment.

    6. I don't look in the gallery as often as I like...slow dial-up and the like, but I do try to leave a comment on every post I do look at.

I admit, I make a point of looking at "just a head" pictures...I am so in sympathy with everyone who only has a head instead of a whole doll.

But,I don't post pictures very often, because it is very discouraging a lot of the time, especially to relative newcomers. I probably won't post pictures of Rei when he's here and finished, just because.

My own browsing and commenting is pretty random...rather like me. (I do like photostories, and I don't mind links...I understand the need for them. :daisy )

    7. Super well said Anika. *cheers*

    8. me TOO Anika!! I third that! :D

    9. awhhh, you don't have to do that! It's not like you immediately get a VIP pass once your doll comes home, you're part of the club from the moment you start liking BJD's. Don't feel like you have to hold back, commenting is an awesome way to make friends here, as well as generate useful discussion ^^

    10. Hmm.. once on another thread, a very good point was made: even if you get few comments on your post, someone was looking at it. Don't ever be discouraged about posting; it's entirely possible that some day, someone will be doing a search for xxxx doll and will love to see your owner pics :) (And perhaps then be afraid to comment, because the topic is months old, but.. )

      Let's see... personally, since I don't have lots and lots of time, I skim the gallery for dolls/owners I know and follow, interesting titles, and doll types I like. The titles thing is important -- I've been suckered into a new liking for certain dolls by being "tricked" into looking at them :lol: I usually leave comments for people I sorta-kinda know (what Janne said about giving/receiving comments is true XD; ), and for really beautiful photography or emotive stories.. and for doll molds that I'm glad to see someone have (like Sram or anyone Kawainino or something... ;) ). But sometimes, if a post has been squeed over for a couple of pages already, I feel like I don't have anything useful to add, so I refrain ^^;

    11. I look at everyingthing in the gallery, but I only reply if I feel compelled to. I also reply on peoples posts that have no reply sometimes, if I find something I want to say.

Most of the time its soo hard for me to comment without it being "oh wow your dolls so lovely" which has most often been said 5+ times before me.

Also on that note, I don't mind when I don't get comments on my pictures. Recently I posted in the gallery and watched the "vewies" go up but no comments. When somone finaly commented I left a response jokingly about someone being the first with guts to comment. The only reason I made that joke is because I had a mini doll naked(tastefully mind you, nothing showed.) in my pictures and it was a crack at some of the drama that goes on here.

I think that people thought I was fishing for replys after I left that comment and if anyone reads this..I wasen't. I was just being silly.

    12. I'll leave a comment if I have something to say. I mean, something different from the average "s/he's beautiful", unless I find a doll too beautiful and no words to describe it - then I'll leave that exact message. XD

I pay attention to the head molds I like too.

    13. I'm fairly new to this forum and I just within the past few weeks got my first doll and then my second. So I have only recently been able to post in the gallery.
But I personally do feel a little discouraged when I have 100+ views and no comments. But then again I wouldn't want someone to comment out of "pity" either.
A few of my posts have recieved comments and I just try to focus on that. I'd rather have 5 honest comments than 50 insincere ones anyway. I also remind myself that my first doll (who most of my pic posts are of) is not a very "popular and well liked" mold. So alot of people just aren't interested. And my other doll is one of the most popular molds out there so I think alot of people just go "Oh... another one".
But the bottom line is that I got them because I liked them and that's understandable that not everyone is going to be as enthused about them as I am.
I think if you have something valid to say and feel compelled to comment... that's great! Because I think alot of people may be like me where I have no friends IRL that live close enough to me to share my dolls with. The only chance I ever get to show them off to people who appreciate them is through pictures and this forum.
But I also think if you don't feel compelled to comment that's fine too. At least you did take the time to look and that alone is a compliment.

    14. Actually I comment most posts 'cause I usually love most of them. I really like arrivals. Sometimes I don't really know what to say but: pretty... but... that doesn't shut me up heheeh! I just go on and say it. I specially like arrivals. They feel special.

I never comment anything when I'm tired. Even if is the best shoot or story EVER, I just read and ignore the "reply" button.

I think just that: if i like I comment. I usually like. And everytime I like I comment (if I'm not tired) 'cause I think people enjoy comments so if I have something good to say, I say ^^

Today I'm a lil bit tired but I'm trying to answer everything

    15. That's a good question...I guess I tend to comment on posts of dolls that I like...either specific to someone's dolls or the general type of doll I may be interested in at the time. I would also comment on anything new or different or unusual...I enjoy seeing new face-ups and outfits. I usually comment if someone has posted and gotten no responses...I tend to feel bad for the person. I've experienced the lack of responses a few times so I know it can be disheartening. I tend to post pictures on my blog more than in the gallery...if someone wants to look, that's great and if not...I don't have to know about it!!!!

    16. To tell the truth, my favorite forum is this one (General Discussion), and I don't have much time for the other ones left, Gallery included.
This is why I don't post many comments to it: I seldom go there, sorry!
But, when I do, I usually leave comments for all of the posts I have the time to see :daisy

    17. I really only look at dolls that I'm interested in. So if it says there's a DOD or a Serendipity in the pictures, I'll look. And I'll usually comment if the doll is one that I find beautiful .... or if it doesn't seem like a lot of people are commenting (because it's sad for the person who posted :( ).

Arrival stories are definitely my favourite. I don't care what type of doll it is, if it's an arrival story, I'm clicking. :)

    18. That pretty much summarizes what moves me to reply.

    19. I tend to comment on arrival pictures and photo stories, I love seeing dolls in their new homes and photo stories entertain me. I also comment on dolls that I own or would want to own.

Of course, I always enjoy seeing wonderfully photographed dolls in fine clothing, eyes, etc, and will comment on those. But I also like to see and usually comment on dolls that are perhaps less extraordinary, but are obviously very well loved. A new Too & Bee-A in temporary clothing can be as interesting to look at as a suberbly dressed Madoka or FCS doll. :daisy

On the other hand, I tend to pass over posts of dolls with headmolds that I don't like, or dolls with headmolds that I've seen a lot of recently. And if the photography is REALLY bad so I can't make out much of the details then I won't even bother to look.

    20. I have to add that a lot of pictures can daunt me too - especially if they're high res. I have a slow connection. ^^;;;
