1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. Yeah...
I usually don't click on a link with "pic heavy" in it.

    2. What I feel compelled to comment on is almost always the unusual. For instance, even though I think Els are lovely and the Luts standard faceups are pretty, if I see a standard-faceup El I'm likely to think 'Oh, that's really pretty' but not be moved to type out 'Oh, that's pretty' because with the amount of standard Els, or standard Lishes etc, I'd be saying that every 5 minutes and it'd lose all meaning. But if I see someone who has given their doll a face-up with lots of expression, or lots of odd makeup, tons of body tattoos or rockin' clothing or something, I'm very likely to try and remember to leave a little note stating how neat their doll is... Even when it ISNT on a face-mold or doll type I usually go for personally. I swoon over pics of great ideas much more than I swoon over pictures of LEs or even a doll type I personally want to buy in the future, and I have more to say about them too.

Though like other people here, I likewise try and comment on the posts of people I think are nice, or that I know personally, but usually with people I think are neat or who Ive gotten to know, I have done so because they also liked the interesting/unusual.

    3. Lots of pictures are daunting for me too and I have a really fast connection. If the host server is up to it, I can get download speeds over 1 MB per second.

...but very few servers can handle that. If a post is crammed with 50 pictures hosted on an average site, even I have to wait for them because the server can't manage the upload. There have been a few times I've had to wait over 5 minutes for a single gallery post to finish uploading. No matter what kind of connection the viewer has, it's easier for them when large photo collections are divided among several pages.

I comment when something really impresses me. It depends on my mood, though... Sometimes everything seems to look great. Other days I'm just really grumpy and nothing seems to get through, "oh yeah, another beautiful doll, whatever." (LOL)

    4. I'm with you ALL the way Dez!!

    5. ooh.. and forgot.. things in the title that can make me NOT look sometimes is the use of "nudity warning" not that I have issues with doll-nudity.. for christs sake it's a doll!! I just get so damn annoyed at that stupid useless warning.. come ON ppl.. it's... a DOLL omg nudity... it's a piece of plastic!

I can understand if there is suggestive stuff in the post like poses or text.. but god damnit.. to warn about nudity. How iffy do you all think users on DOA are??? I almost feel like posting nude-pictures of Luciel, up-close and personal and NOT put a stupid warning lable on... God.... nudity is natural.. even if it IS a doll.

aaaaah.. sorry.. had to get that of my chest

    6. I can kind of understand that, though, because not everyone's as comfortable with nudity - doll or human, particularly if you don't view them so much as just being dolls. I'm actually ridiculously shy about...er...boy-bits ( ^^;; ), so seeing a boy doll unclothed makes me squirmy and uncomfortable the same way seeing my leash-holder without his clothes on would (yep, I'm one of them girls who insists on the lights being out). I don't mind girlish nudity, but only if it's mature girlish nudity - so I'd rather not look at the smaller-chested dolls unclothed, because that makes me feel like I'm looking at kiddie porn or something. ^^;

      Bizarrely, I've got no problem with hentai, yaoi, or dolly porn - just straight-up visible bits nudie shots. I'm an odd bird, I know. ^^;

And then if you have parents who don't understand that the whole point of knocking is to wait to be told to come in...RAR.

    7. I usually only look at pic-heavy posts if they're of specific dolls I love, unless I'm at work and it's a slow day (we have DSL). What draws me in is the title. If I see a post for a type of shoot that I don't usually see, I'll look, even if it's a doll I've never heard of. Uniqueness and creativity is very important, even for molds that I love, like the F16.

I don't reply to gallery posts much though. I only do it if the doll is one of my favorites or I'm really struck by the photos (which tend to be unique clothes or cosplay, now that I think about it). I guess I'm still shy when it comes to telling people how much I admire their dolls and I don't want to sound trite by saying simply "your doll is so pretty." I always hated it in drama competitions when judges would say "very good!" without telling me why, so I like to have reasons behind my compliments. Sometimes it's hard to come up with the right wording to do that.

And I have to agree that the best way to get compliments is to give compliments yourself. It works like that in real life, not just here.

    8. I dont have a problem with doll nudity at all but i like the warning on there because a lot the times im at work when im looking in the gallery and some people at my work may be more sensitive or offended. My grandma is one of the people that works at the family business and i know she would be a little "weirded" out at some of the nude doll poses since her mind frame is still set back in the 1950's lol. Also customers are always walking in and out and since i work a sheet metal fabrication shop most of them are men and i know they would be uncomfortable and it wouldn't be very good work ethics to have it showing when they walked in.

    9. Same here! I usually see the pics at school or work or even with my familly by my side so... I just check the posts with doll nudity when I'm alone at home.
I know my mommy would be a lil bit offended, my dad would freak out and my sister would make funny of it...... so I just preffer keeping problems away.
I must confess I like doll nudity 'cause I love how perfectly sculped and detailed.... but I also must confess I feel a lil shy over boy dolls nudity... by the fact it looks like the human body ^^''' I feel shy... it is something I can't control. I look but if you look at my face at the moment I'll problably be red.

    10. Such Fantastic posts everyone!! I am super pleased that although this could of brought up bruised feeling, it hasn't and I am glad that everyone has kept an open mind through all the comments. It was of course not meant to provoke bruised feeling or any such thing. was just curious of the diverse compellings of the people we call peers because of our common hobby and passion for all these beautiful dolls.

Thank you all so much for putting in your comments and replies :D

Remember, no matter the comments here or anywhere else...the only thing that matters is that your doll is beautiful to you, and no one else. :)

    11. as a reply to ppl around here... hmm I see your point.. but I veiw these posts at work and at school too... I'm quite comfortable with this hobby and don't care what ppl say.. they usually ask me directly "what.. the hell is that.. a nude doll???!" And I reply "Yup.. a nude doll.. I collect dolls.. I like them.. they're beautiful"

I really don't give a rats ass what other ppl think of me. My parents have accepted it even if they find it weird. And folks at work, friends and such, they know I'm a weirdo so they're fine with it, god knows this is one of my more innocent hobbies (counting so androgynous men that you almost can tell the difference. Jrock- oh yeah men in make-up. Yaoi and so on).. mostly they just get interested.

To each their own. Now you at least know why I don't reply often.. and almost never on "nudity-warnings"

    12. All anyone ever asks , is that you be yourself. :) Just don't you listen to those others that say you're a rude bitch Leechy!!! (LOLOL I am so joking and if you don't get it...well tough shit :D )

    13. Oh ho ho.. I get it!

    14. haw...that wasn't supposed to be a if YOU don't get it...it was an in general...everyone "you"...heh

I dunno why i bothered to explain that kinda diffuses my oroginal statement..lol oh well

    15. Im not sure I should continue this.. but really I'm tired and so I didn't get it and I'm to blame XD

      To keep this on topic:

Interesting different titles make me look at a post and often reply... some ppl here on DOA have a way with words that just impress me alot!

    16. hehe :D

      Very good point...
That's the main reason for using a "Nudity" warning. Not everyone is at home with no one looking over their shoulder and folks at work could get in a heap of trouble if a nude shot was glimpsed by someone else...as real as some of these dolls can look, someone seeing a nude pic of a doll may not realize it's a doll. If I post any nude shots I include the warning just because I think it is a good idea, not because I have a problem with dollie nudity. I believe in giving fair warning...

    18. if i look at a picture and go "wow!" and have to look at it again and again, i leave a comment. i'm hopelessly in love with alot of other peoples' dolls on here. XD probably because i don't have my own yet...plus ones that look like what i want my future doll to look like i leave a comment on.

    19. Before I had my boys I had such a huge ollection of pictures going, i looked at the gallry ritually and commented quite often. Now that I have my boys i'm more liable to just look without commenting. Although i do still collect pictures of outfits off of Y!J, and such thinking i can get ideas of outfits i want to someday make for my boys.

    20. Eh, I have to disagree with you here. Now I have nothing against doll nudity obviously. However, some of us are at work (maybe on lunch break, but still at work) looking at DoA. When I have spare time at work I mod the forum and I really can't have doll nudity popping up on my PC. Yeah, we might be used to it and think nothing of it but it is enough to probably get me in trouble at my job. I work at a law firm too and they are strict about these things. So I must insist that people use warnings whenever possible. I know I'm not the only one who goes on DoA at work either. It seems silly, but it is necessary.
