1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I have to agree with Zalem. The warning doesn't say anything about the poster - or the pictures - except that the member posting is being considerate. :D

    2. someone's boss may not be so understanding, however, and it's just common courtesy on a mixed-user board, to label posts appropriately. labeling a post is not saying that nudity is somehow unnatural or "evil". It's just being courteous to other users who may not feel the same way as you ^_^.

    3. Yeah. I browse the boards at school in my freetime, and the librarians are very uptight. Some artistically nude drawings of mine were confiscated as 'porn,' even though they were for a school project. So, I'm sure if I stumbled on pictures of a very nude doll, they'd take this the wrong way (They also confiscated photos of a nude Dollfie Dream I had for artistic reference) and ban me from using the school's computers.

I have nothing against nudity, obviously, but would prefer to avoid pictures marked 'Nude' untill I was safe at home.

Anyway, on topic, I'm drawn to a) the dolls I like and want, b) good photos - not necessarily good quality (not everyone has the same quality cameras or photoediting tools), but are taken with a purpose and convey something more than 'Look, its a doll sitting on a shelf' Like Lugi-Moo's pics; the quality isn't good, but you still get a clear impression of the Ttory's personality.

Also, I don't like romantic stuff... so I tend to avoid it >XD Just because I find it boring.

    4. When I would browse at work, I would expressly avoid posts that said "Contains Doll Nudity" as my bosses would just be horribly wierded out. Of course, I would go home and view the posts there, but I have to agree with Aimee, it's not because the poster thinks there's something wrong with doll nudity, but there are a myriad of issues associated with -any- form of nudity online. It's just respectful, esp. if you have bosses that wouldn't understand or young children that might want to look at the dolls with you. It might not be something you want them exposed to and clicking on a "seemingly harmless" gallery post only to find it's chalk full of nudity might make you angry and wish there had been a little warning that would have taken all of 5s to type.

    5. Nice to get this much feedback really!!
To all of you who replied thanks.. this helps solve one of my issues here on the board.

I guess ppl around me are less uhm.. how should I say it... prune about it.

I dunno I have just never encountered anything that made ppl gro crazy or view me badly (not directly anyways)

The labeling is good then I guess... but sometimes... I just.. I dunno... the post states a warning.. and.. there's like.. a naked torso at most... I dunno... just weird...

And hey I never stated that the poster has issues with nudity, why would he or she have taken the photos then?

Ah well.. anywho.. thanks for the reply guys

    6. Oh, I have also noticed that some people mark posts with 'Nekkid' or 'Nude' to be cute; like, "Ahaha! My modest little [insert doll's name] is being bared to the world! BWA HA HA HA!"

<XD Which I find very adorable and that usually compels me TO click the link

    7. When I log on in the morning, I usually check out the gallery in this order:

      1. I scan the list of posters to see if anyone whose things I have liked in the past have posted something new.

      2. I check out the titles of the threads to see if anything catches my eye. There are some dolls that I always want to look at and some that I'm not as interested in, but if the title sounds interesting, I'll check out most anything.

      3. Then, I look at the number of replies and compare them to the posters name. If there are few replies and the poster seems new, I'll check out their thread.

As far as commenting goes, I only comment on what I genuinely like and if I can say something beyond just "Aw, cute!" That goes for the posts in category #3 above as well -- I don't do "pity" posts, but I do try to make new people feel welcome if I can.

For my own posts, I'm learning to not feel bad if I don't get a lot of replies, because I usually get fair amount of hits and so I still feel like I am sharing.

And this will sound funny coming from me, but I usually don't check out the threads with nudity warnings, obviously not because I have any problem with it and I have a private office, so I don't have to worry about people looking over my shoulder, but it's because a lot of what I enjoy in BJD pictures are great clothes.

    8. About the nudity: not to mention that if someone takes a mere quick glance at the computer, it might look like an actual human or something.

Ahh... I'm lazy about commenting. Then again, I'm lazy about browsing the gallery too.

I know I'm getting shoes thrown at me for this but some of you might think that only looking at pics of your fave dolls is bad: I commonly only look at pics of boy-dolls *snerk* and only boy dolls that I'm interested in.
      ...
Well, okay... more like, I'm only looking at pics of the dolls I'm interested in and they all happen to be boys ( with the exception of DT Estella... ).

Alternatively, I gladly look at any rare dolls' photos. Always interesting.

So, from those few posts I'm most likely to comment to them when:

      - The post is funny.
      - The photos are very nice in some way. No need to be a pro photographer but there has to be *that* *something* there...
      - The doll(s) looks interesting ( I'm not using the word "beautiful" intentionally )
      - I can figure out something other than "oh wow cool" to say, or better yet; ask something.
      - There is a nice story ( I'm not so hot for random photoshoots )
      - There isn't bazillion comments already.

    9. Just curious ;D

      I seem to notice that sometimes, even though people have nice pictures, theres NO comments on them o__o; But sometimes I notice that people comment on their friend's posts, or owners that have 'popular' dolls (I dont mean the mold.. i mean that doll is popular on the fourm ;D) have pages of comments XD;;

So why do you comment? :D

    10. I'll often check out gallery threads based on popularity and whatnot, though whether or not I comment depends on how impressed I was with the photostory/photoshoot. I suppose it also depends on my mood, since sometimes I just don't feel like commenting on anything, whereas on other days, I can't keep myself away from the keyboard!

    11. First, I only read photostories, I rarely visit the normal gallery.

Second, I dont read any of the photo stories with the hearts by them because I'm looking for funny things.

Third, It doesn't matter how well they are photographed (IE: lighting, focus, etc), for me its more important that the dolls feel alive and that the story plot flows.

Fourth I only post if the story is something I love...maybe I should be posting even if I mildly like it too lol

    12. Generally, I don't comment. It's in my lurker nature :3 I'm especially disinclined to comment if a lot of comments have already been made, because it seems almost....pointless some how:sweat But if I see something that really grips my attention, and gives me something a bit more specific to say than just "pretty picture" I'll feel compelled to comment.

    13. I know what you mean! Ive read photo stories I like but they already have like 4 pages of comments so commenting seems so pointless ><;;

    14. i comment on something when I know the person as a friend, WANT to know the person as a friend, like the doll mold, like the character, or i particularly like the photos enough to say so.

The last one doesnt happen that often actually. I mainly comment because of dolls or people i want to see or talk with more.

I tend to not comment to popular people much..unless i already know them..because if they have 4 pages of a fan-club support group all going "zomg! so pretty! lolz! (oh god, pay attention to me, you're famous!)"

then im not really going to bother with a well thought out, coherent reply that wont get much notice.

    15. I checked "other" meaning one or all of the above... ^_^

      Plus:
      Sometimes I just comment randomly,
or make a special effort to say something nice to someone who's newer,
      plug a friend's posting,
or because yeah the pics are exceptional,
or because I'm interested the doll being shown.

I'm not sure I understand the "Popularity" reference. I find I'm less likely to bother posting if a doll has a big "fan club" unless I happen to really like the doll itself.

I may also post "OMG YAY" on a given doll then miss it the next time...

I guess it's a random thing, not an exact science!!! ^_^

Oh and I tend only to surf the 'regular' gallery. I don't usually check out the photostories... I think it's because I got in the habit of cruising "The Gallery" before it was split.

This is a great question, BTW!

    16. I comment only because I like the pictures! Popularity, etc. shouldn't matter, I don't think it matters to most people... maybe if it's your friend, but I would comment on my friend's dolls anyway 'cause I love them~ I haven't ever seen a really good thread with an inadequate amount of comments.

    17. I only go see posts that state exactly what sort of doll it is (or if the title is just too interesting!) otherwise it would take hours. I do this because there is a limited number of molds I go REALLY crazy over.

The thing with popular dolls is that you know their actual name so, in my case, when I see a name of a doll I'm familiar with I already know it's one of my favourite molds, even if the title doesn't say anything, so I check it out.

But I only actually post a comment on pictures I find truly remarkable, regardless of how many comments they already have :)

    18. usually I'll comment if I know the person, if the pictures are nice, or if I can relate to the doll in one way or another.

    19. I only open threads that have the doll molds that I particularly like in the title. If its a doll I've seen before and liked, I'll look if I recognize the name. Then if I have something to say I'll post, if not I'll simply move on. I also don't visit the gallery every day, only when I have more time on my hands and my internet connection is good. Pics sometimes choke my wireless card. :p

    20. Wow, i'm glad somebody asked this question, because i didn't want to for fear of sounding... disgruntled. XD

I post only if something interesting catches my eye, or if i really find their pictures amazing. Photography is what catches my eye, and the overall feel of the doll. There has to be something special about them, non-generic.

I also have a pet peeve about crappy photography getting rave reviews and really nice photography getting only... five comments. Yes, it's personal, too. >> Just because i don't own an El, or a Lishe, or some other CP doll, it feels like my less popular but still gorgeous looking dolls get way less attention. And it's not so much that i want attention for me, it's i think that they themselves deserve it, as [for lack of a better term] people. They're so wonderful in my life, and such blessings, that i'm just proud to the nines of them. :3

      That was... vaguely on topic. XD;

PS. If you own a Lishe or an El, or a CP doll, don't get offended. I love the doll molds, i just don't have a character for them, and until that happens, not in my house. *shrug*
