1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I tend not to comment on gallery posts because I often don't visit the gallery... And I'm a big time thread killer XP
There are also a lot of times that I write out a comment, then delete it before posting because it either doesn't seem to be constructive (Oooh, so pretty!) or because I feel it may be taken the wrong way for whatever reason... Always a hazard when you combine an odd sense of humor with the language obstacles inherent in a worldwide forum like DOA.
That said, I will occasionally comment on friends' threads when they've been sitting for a long time with no comments...
And not even open threads when the little blurb shown is nothing but pictures or links...

    2. I post if I like the story or if the dolls/outfits interest me, usually. I try to post the most for newcomers showing off their dolls because I know I love getting posts on my pics. Encouraging so that people will want to post more pics of their beautiful dolls. ^^

    3. I comment in my friends' galleries/stories 'cause I love them. ;) (and their little dolls, too!)
But basically, I just go with the whim. I do try to comment in galleries/stories for folks that comment on mine.
Back when I had tons of time, I just went through and commented on many because I really liked what was presented. Either the photography itself or the story grabbed me in some way.
Currently, I'm working six to seven days a week, so I won't be commenting quite so much. :sweat
But I do like to let people know that I like what they've done! Even if it's just a mindless squee. ;)

    4. i chose other:

i comment if i have somethin to say. If the picture sare nice...well...chances are at least 40 other ppl will have said the same thing.
if i'm friends with the person: always!
if the dolls have popular reputation: NEVER! i don't like joining the masses. I normally find that people who recieve over 200 posts about their dolls won't read all of them so i don't bother. If i really like teh dolls i'll send a private message
otherwise, i if i have something new to contribute or if not many other people say something, i'll post.

    5. I tend to seek out pictures of molds I like and they're what I'll usually comment on. I don't even spend much time in the gallery and such, though.

    6. I tend to lurk more often than not, because I'm shy and I'm afraid I'll say something incredibly stupid because, despite the fact that I've known about BJDs for a little over two years now, I've only just recently been introduced to these forums, and I don't know as much about the different sculpts and companies as other people.

Otherwise, I just sort of randomly comment. :sweat

    7. I comment usually because the pictures are nice, but I really don't have the time to go look through every single thread in the gallery. BUT whenever I look through a thread I always comment, because I know that for me even if people leave tiny comments like, "Pretty." or "Liked it :)", I still feel happy. Or maybe that's just me :sweat

    8. this is actually a great question. i tend to be very very shy online so lately i've been trying to get over this. i usually look for molds that i'm familiar with but like. i also really like the handmade dolls. if i like the photos or what they represent or if they are original i try my best to comment.

    9. there are so many posts in the gallery, it's impossible to see all of them.

when I have some extra time to enjoy the gallery, I typically just open whichever threads of pictures are at the top of the gallery. I'll comment on whichever ones I really enjoy. That's all there is to it for me anyway.
I don't often view the photostory gallery.

I also have : http://www.another2am.com/eyecandy/ on my LJ-feed, so if I see a picture there I really like, I'll go to the thread and comment there.

if you see a thread that has really great photos, make sure you comment and tell your friends about the thread! if more people comment, more people get comments. it's up to you.

imho, the more you post gorgeous photography, eventually people will notice and start looking for your threads.

everyonce in a while I find an owner who takes gorgeous photos that I haven't seen before at all (just cuase I dont have enough time to view the gallery as much as I'd like) and then I go and look for their previous threads to see more of their photos!

I dont really worry about not saying "squeeee cute!". I mean really. If that's how I feel about the doll, that's what I'll post. Just because someone else said "I like that doll's eyes" doesn't mean I can't also say that. I imagine the owner appreciates 5 posts saying similar things just as much. I doubt the owners going "wow, I wish that person HADNT commented since they didnt have anything new to say"

I'm combining this thread with the other one, hope you don't mind! :sweat

    10. Basically:
      1._) I love the pictures
2._) The doll is beautiful, even if picture aren't.
      3._) I'm a fan of this doll!!!

      ;)

    11. I usually only comment if I like the type of doll. But sometimes when browsing through I will stumble across pictures of a doll that maybe I not usually keen on and actually find myself quite drawn to them.
I usually just look but if I feel like a comment is deserved I post.

    12. I comment usually when I click a link because I feel it is only right to. I am usually sure there is something I can comment on and I feel that even if my comment is short it could still make the person happy.

Of course right now I know how it feels to see how many people viewed my thread as opposed to commenting. So yeah it made me even more certain that when I view photos in the gallery to comment so that people do not feel like I do.

    13. I voted "The pictures are nice", "I'm friends with the person" and "others".
The "others" is because I also like good titles of threads.
I always watch threads, but I don't always comment them.

    14. I'm the first to admit that I don't comment nearly half as often as I probably should, considering just how many pictures I look at. I'll comment if the pictures really speak to me, even if it is to say the exact same thing as 10 other people have said - I would think that the OP will enjoy the comments even if they do say similar things.

    15. There are lots of different reasons I'll comment on a thread- I like the type of doll, I like the photos, I like the story behind them, I like the clothes / faceups, or because I am friends with the person who posted.

    16. I'll only comment for good photography, something that I'm interested in or an interesting topic.

    17. generally, i lurk- but i'm actually more likely to comment if the post has fewer comments, than if it's obviously very popular. i'm not sure whether this is because i'm trying to provide positive reinforcement or because i have unconventional taste.

then there's the fact that i'm afraid of inadvertantly insulting the person, ex. by commenting on the "otherworldly" quality of their photos when they were going for realism :doh

    18. I always comment on posts by my friends, and then after that I will comment if I like the pics, the dolls, the story, etc. I go through periods where I'll comment often and then I might not leave a comment for weeks though. I don't feel guilty about just going "oooo, pretty!" either, because sometimes that's what I'm thinking (and I don't mind getting comments like that on my threads!). I also try to comment on threads posted by people who comment on my threads.

    19. I comment if I feel compelled to especially in the Galleries because I felt it was something I really wanted to say what I truly appreciated about each set of photos, no other reason :)

    20. I comment when something in the photo strikes me as beautiful or moving. Sometimes, it is the beauty of the sculpt of the doll that compels me to comment. Other times, it is my interest in a certain sculpt or topic depicted in the photos.

Usually, I don't leave a comment after looking because I really cannot offer much critique/advise because I myself am not a good photographer. :) Or I just don't want to come off as someone who is trying so hard to get comments in return.

As for myself, I post a photo that I really like just to share to other people. If a few people like it or take notice, that is wonderful! At least there are few out there who appreciated the photos even though nothing in them was very interesting. :3
