1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Will that "One Detail" Prevent you from Buying?

Dec 22, 2010

    1. I once didn't bought a doll because in the owner pictures, you could see his nose had this real thick nosebridge which I didn't like. You couldn't see that in the company pictures though. I still thought (and think) it was a lovely mold and all, but it was not what I had in mind at that time. I guess if I would remember now which mold and company it was, i might rethink buying him. Good thing for my wallet I don't know anymore!

    2. With so many dolls out there I think there's little need to settle for something that's not what you really want. As with most things it's never that black and white: if the fault is minor then I don't see why it would stop me but if there was a more noticeable feature that I found to be a flaw in the doll then I'd just keep browsing, new dolls come out often enough and there's a nice selection on the market as is so don't feel like you should settle on "almost there".

    3. I don't like Sleeping or dreaming face plates. I doubt i'll ever get a doll with a sleeping/dreaming or half closed eye lid detail. If i did get a doll and it came with both facepaltes i'd likely end up selling the sleeping faceplate for extra cash. Its not that i can't stand the the faceplate type it just feels less personal to me if i can't look into the eyes that gives my doll or characters soo much detail and life.

    4. It depends on how much it bothers me and if/how it can be fixed, I guess. I'm in love with a doll with a peculiar nose for example, but his narrow nose and the potential additional modding that'd be necessary to fix it bug me too much to try to purchase him. On the other hand there's another doll I like that has a slightly too round nose, but which I consider buying because sanding it slightly down isn't much of a hassle compared to fiddling around with epoxy like in the first scenario.
So all in all it really depends on what would be necessary to fix the detail I don't like.
