1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Would anyone buy a talking doll?

Jan 10, 2009

    1. I dont really know if i would like it. On one side it is pretty cool to be able to "communicate" with you doll, maybe even choose her ir his voice and develop their characters.
But on the other side it would kind of creep me out if my doll would be talking back to me. I know doll is a doll and wont become human, but there is something creepy about talking toys for me...

    2. Probably not. That'd be very creepy.

    3. I'm used to quiet and not talking. Hearing something taking in my room would horrify me. I have many issues about that which are personal but I wouldn't discourage some one from getting one. If you like it then go with it.

    4. I think that would just be to creepy to me.

    5. Hmm very interesting. Yes I think I would, because it would be novel.

    6. I'd never buy a talking BJD. It is associated with children talking toys

    7. It would be an interesting idea, but I wouldn't buy one. Not only are my characters defined enough that a 'stock' script would never fit any of them, but I also have a strong idea of what their voices would sound like, and I doubt it would be possible to find voice actors to fit them well enough.

    8. i have a talking Sumomo doll, the character from Chobits, in amongst my vast collection of weird and wonderful anime stuff, i think she has about 6 lines from the series.

its a cool idea, i think the closest thing we have now is Danny Choo's smart doll which is being released as we speak.
