Would you buy a Felitaur?

Feb 27, 2010

    1. Mods: I couldn't find anywhere for this to really go so please do move this to its appropriate area- i did think it suited general, thus its position.

WTHecks a felitaur? you may ask...
Otherwise known as a Leotaur etc - These are the feline counterparts to Centaurs.

Centaur's are few and far between in the dollstakes - i know of Souldoll's (which i am saving for) and Domadolls (didnt love them enough OxO). [any more and please do let me know <3]

But what's the reckoning that eventually with enough words here and there, that companies will start making other 'taur varieties?

Minotaur's are quite common since parts are interchangable for the most part... But would the Felitaur be a mod on a centaur or an entirely new sculpt?
I am hoping for the latter since I would like a felitaur to look a little different from Chiron after-all xD

      Whats your thoughts~?

Good idea? or waste of resin?

    2. I think I would like to see more animal mods like in Noctarna Circus before they branch out on the taur line... I am really in to the cantaur... And may even LOVE a Minotaur but I personally would go first for a different type of anthro.

    3. *nodnod* Fair enough ^^ My friend doesn't even want to begin to understand why i like Centaurs...

Since I created an OC or several (a whole world to be honest xD) I've not looked back and analysed it xD

I saw Chiron and fell in love (so to speak), and Domadoll's are a little too tiny for me (from what i can tell >x<) then a week or so ago i wanted to be able to have a Felitaur to complement my Centaur xD but i was wondering on the interest ^^

I mean i *could* commission someone who sculpts to do it, but if it's easier just to wait on the market then i will do <3

    4. well, I wouldn't buy one, but I wouldn't buy a centaur either... Anthros that are too human, I don't like. The pipos dolls are cute because they are more like wind in the willows type, but anymore human than that, i've no interest.

I doubt that anyone will make one. I mean, are you talking about one like a centaur that has six limbs, or like a minotaur with 4? something with a feline lower half i can imagine someone making, i mean soom has already made the wolf guy, but if we're talking something like a centaur but feline version, i really doubt it. The companies tend to stick with things more familiar to real mythology or lore, but I can't say i've ever heard of a felitaur, especially outside of modern lit.

    5. Fair enough ^^

I can't really think of a contemporary felitaur to use- the Sphinx's of old are more the theme ^^'
And yes, like a centaur but with feline lower's.

Thanks ^^ Trust me this input is helping- I may have to commission to be honest since they aren't all that popular-
      In Mythology there is only a variation of what i seek ^^;

      Wikipedia's answer to Sphinx's
And searching 'Leotaur', and 'Felitaur' in google comes up with enough images to get a general idea ^^

    6. Nope. Would not be interested. I prefer more traditional fantasy creatures. Now if there was a griffin or a dragon....

    7. OxO Oh gosh a dragon- if only! xD I have more than enough Dragonlings to make a good family and a half out of xD

      Thanks ^^

    8. I say, enough with the fantasy creatures already. Just so tired of everything having animal limbs or wings or a weird body. I know they come with human bodies and you can sell off the parts, but there are days when I'm just like "if I have to see one more creature with an animal body, or hooves, etc. I quit." So no, I wouldn't buy any kind of 'taur. I liked that Chiron was offered with a human body option because I dug his head sculpt but there's no way I want a centaur, was very happy with my human guy.

    9. To be completely honest most of my dolls at any one time would be humanoid/human (one is an angel so i bought him some removable wings... Fancy dress ones like a kid would have). 3/4 dolls in my planned family will be human.

Each to their own, if I want I'll have to ask around to see if anyone can make one.

    10. I thought they were called Wemics, but that may be my D&D history talking.

    11. I'm personally totally not interested. I could see myself tempted by a Soom tiny with fantasy parts maybe someday (and am kicking myself for not getting Alk once I saw people putting the wings on the back), but generally I don't even want elf ears (my Karsh excluded there), just humans. It's an interesting idea, though! I do think the best bet for something like that would be a custom. I think the companies are much more likely to come up with something like Soom's monthlies with fantasy parts which sounds like it's not what you're looking for.

    12. Like anything else, it would depend on a lot of factors. If it was the wrong size for me? No. If I disliked the head sculpt? Probably no. If it was some weird color I disliked... no. If it was a sculpt and size I liked? Sure. It's an interesting idea, but there are a lot of interesting ideas that I fancy that I still won't buy because some element of it is 'off' to me in some form.

    13. Lol, depends on how it looked. I'm an anthro lover so sure, I'd be happy to check it out! <3

    14. It really doesn't help that they all come from pretty much the same few companies...

    15. Personally, I love the fantasy dolls. So if someone came out with a felitaur or anything like that I'd certainly find it interesting. While feline isn't my thing, I love hooves and wings and stuff like that.

    16. Princess Aris: Haha I've never played D&D - but still xD

AmyAngel: Fair enough ^^ this whole thing is to scope out what other people think too ^^

Kaiser-Serena: tbh i take quite a few things with a pinch of salt- rather removing it from the wounds so to speak *cough* And abundancies of humans aside i suppose it would be a bit of a downer if every company did decide to do pure fantasy xD

Surreality: True true- if i didn't like the sculpt i would pout terribly and consider getting him (or indeed her) to be modded terribly.

-6o3-: Yeah, it would all depend on the look!

      gwenithcoy: fair enough ^^

All in all there is a bit of interest expressed haha, but it would be quite the closed market and would be quite the wait, but for 'taur lovers who do like kitties i think it might end up worth it ^^

    17. No, I personally wouldn't. I like the "werecat" look, like Iplehouse's Luna and Yur, but an entire feline lower body--not for me.

    18. Personally, I think a sphinx would be cool. :) Either way, mostly beast, or mostly human.

    19. Variety is the spice of life.

Honestly, if the same companies didn't make the same things as a similar repeat with their anthro dolls and became more creative with the sculpt I don't think I would have a problem with it. But then, they might loose that "Asian aesthetic" and become off topic. I'm just picky about fantasy dolls when it has to deal with animal parts.

The only one I have 100% liked was someone's custom doll made from nobility doll http://www.nobilitydoll.com/shop/step1.php?number=724

    20. Other than Soom Skoll/Hati and maybe Pipos' cat and rabbits, I've never really been a fan of anthro. While I am kinda 'blah' about fantasy parts lately, unless it was something totally different and never done before, I have to pass.

I have to agree with Bunnydots about liking the human head molds over their fantasy/animal parts. If it weren't for the head molds, I personally wouldn't even be interested in some of the Soom MD's.
