1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Would you buy damaged dolls from the company?

Mar 6, 2013

    1. It depends on how flawed the doll was and where the flaws were located. If the flaws are really noticable then it would probably bother me. I've had dolls in the past that that had very visable flaws and I ended selling them off.

    2. I would buy one,but I don't think it would be a good business decision for the company to sell them,it would just put more product out there than is expected

    3. It depends how bad and where, if the damage is on the face then I won't consider buying the doll, I hold the majority of my love for their faces, but if its something that could be hidden then I wouldn't mind

    4. I've seen people do mods on dolls that looked like they'd been attacked by a large angry dog or something and they make them look good as new. If I tried to fix a doll or something it would probably look worse so I'd rather just spend a bit more and get a doll that's in good shape.

    5. I would totally buy one! I wouldn't mind a blip here and there. I am pretty cheap as well. ;p

    6. In this case, probably not, even if it was an LE. As sad as I am to say, a great part of my attraction to these dolls is their near-perfect aesthetic and if I couldn't fix the damage, I probably wouldn't buy it.

    7. I would in order to practice face ups or blushing. I believe it was already said, you could mod the part and now be crushed if it got messed up. I have been dying to sand the seams on my dolls but I am just too afraid to wreck them. And it is just a seam!

    8. For me it'll depend on how bad it is and if the company reduce the price to like 50% then i'll buy it xD and try to sell it somewhere else for a bit higher xD im being honest, don't judge! xD

    9. This has actually happened! Recently, Sugarble released a defected version of their beautiful 70cm Genie body in a custom colour. the only flaw was a white patch amongst the otherwise gorgeous reddy brown skin. but it was hidden on the doll's bum and needless to say, I snapped that baby up! If something similar came up for a good price again I'd definitely consider doing the same a second time.

    10. Of course I would :)

    11. I would really consider buying a damaged doll, as long as the damage was minor. These dolls are so expensive as it is and it would be nice for discount on the price.

    12. I would definitely be interested. Even if the flaw was too severe to fix or hide it would make a great modding dummy or salvage for other dolls. Depending on the defect it could even look great as a unique character aspect with no work at all.

    13. I probably would. Though it would have to depend on the discount given and the kind of damage the doll has.

    14. I totally would as long as the face plate was okay. I love experimenting with doll face-ups and a discounted/miscast doll would be perfect for that.

    15. I do not mind buying a damaged doll if I can live with the damage. If the damage is not so bad, maybe I can do something about it. :kitty2:kitty2:kitty2

    16. it really depends on how damaged the doll is, if its unnoticeable and can easily be repaired (and a lowered price) then I would buy it UvU

    17. I probably would if I liked the doll enough and depending on the booboo it has. I'm all for getting character development from "defects" :)

    18. Depends upon what's damaged, but yeah I would. There's a lot of stuff you can just fix that wouldn't bother me and if it saves me a few $$$ why not?

    19. It depends on what parts are damaged.

For some Soom LEs, I don't like all of the fantasy parts they come with. I really didn't care for Agate's hooves when she came out, and if Soom ever has a special release of Mad Hatter in normal skin I'd cheerfully buy him even if all his fantasy parts were damaged to oblivion. To me, it doesn't matter if the perfect aesthetic of the dolls is marred by damaged fantasy parts if I have no intention of ever using these parts. However, really obvious damage on the face, or parts that I care about, which could never be covered by clothes... that, I don't think I could deal with.

    20. it depends on the doll for me, if it was my grail and she was significantly damaged I don't think I would buy her
but there are some dolls I'd like to own someday that little flaws like bubbles or a few cracks would actually look better so I'd definitely buy those (and the price drop is just an added bonus)
