1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Would you go to a physical BJD store?

Dec 21, 2014

    1. Would you go to it?
I would love to, it would be amazing to see the clothes/shoes/wigs/dolls in person, and maybe to meet other people.

What would you expect to find there?
Anything to do with dolls tbh, Wigs on tiny wig heads, lots of clothes from different companies. Maybe an import service and a taobao service too?

      Dolls as well.

What would you want it to have?
      Everything I said above

Would you be fine with it having other hobbies in there too?
I would be okay with that, I assume it would help supplement the store itself.

If you have been to a physical bjd store, how was it??
      N/A

    2. Would you go to it?
      Of course~

What would you expect to find there?
Wigs, Clothes, Shoes, Eyes. other items from different companies!

What would you want it to have?
      Everything I listed above!

Would you be fine with it having other hobbies in there too?
      Of course!

If you have been to a physical bjd store, how was it?
Been to Mint on Card 3 times now~ I live only a couple hours away and my local doll group plans events there! They also carry Star Wars items along with all the awesome dolly stuff. I love driving up to Traverse City to one: get delicious fresh cherries and two: always hit up mint on card and see what they have! ^_^

    3. Would you go to it?
      For sure :)

What would you expect to find there?
Dolls, spare parts, face up materials, eyes, lashes etc. Tools, BJD books and support supplies for the hobby. It would be good if they had shoes and some classes or workshops on the hobby to sign up for.

What would you want it to have?
In addition to above, I would like to see many lovely finished dolls from various companies similar to yarn shops having finished knitted items.

Would you be fine with it having other hobbies in there too?
Yes, but not at the expense of having limited space and stock because they had too many different hobbies in the store.

If you have been to a physical bjd store, how was it?
Only in my dreams - it was wonderful and I didn't want to wake up :love.

    4. Man, definitely. I love hobby stores in general, but going to a BJD store in particular would be so cool. Too bad one would never come to my town, haha.

    5. Would you go to it?
If it was close enough, yeah!

What would you expect to find there?
      Wigs, clothes, shoes
      Faceup supplies
Maybe some miniature furniture & props in various scales?

What would you want it to have?
I'd love to have a little photoshoot area, with in-scale backdrops -- I think it'd be really cute!
And a little cafe maybe, so doll owners can socilize with others in the community.

I also think it'd be really cool if they had like a classroom area (like in craft stores) where you can sign up for lessons like: sewing for dolls, faceups 101, basic maintenance & care, modding for beginners, etc

Would you be fine with it having other hobbies in there too?
Other doll related hobbies maybe -- I'd be okay with sharing the space with other dolls like Monster High/EAH, American Girls, ect

    6. I live less than 2 hours away fron both VOLKS USA and another small BJD shop, but I haven't had the money or time to go to one! If there was one within an hour of me I would probably not eat any food due to lack of money spent on doll things. They'd know me well because I would be there as a regular.

    7. Would you be fine with it having other hobbies in there too?
Sure why not. They have to make money with selling other things probably.

If you have been to a physical bjd store, how was it??

I've been to Volks USA and another store that was in Glendale (I can't remember the name anymore). I loved both stores. The representives where super friendly. Of course I liked Volks a lot better they had everything that I needed for face ups and eye mods which I needed at the time. Of course the prices on items where expensive but my doll needed those shoes! Anyway this was years ago and I heard from the reps that Volks doesn't have a decided store in LA anymore but you can visit their offices and still look at their items that they sell on the website.

    8. Would you go to it?
      Definitely

What would you expect to find there?
      Accessories, Dolls, shoes!

What would you want it to have?
Classes on Faceups, modding, restringing, etc.

Would you be fine with it having other hobbies in there too?
      Yes

If you have been to a physical bjd store, how was it?

    9. Oh the bjd cafes sound amazing.

    10. While I love the idea of a bjd shop, I take a lot of time comparing and deciding which doll/clothes/shoes/wigs to buy. I'm just not sure how much I would actually buy in a physical store. I just can't see them getting lot of traffic.

But a cafe, selling food and drinks instead of/in addition to bjd stuff? Could work. maybe

    11.
    12. Would you go to it?
      Of course yes

What would you expect to find there?
      Dolls, outfits, clothing, wigs...

What would you want it to have?
      Accessories, exclusive dolls and food!!!!

Would you be fine with it having other hobbies in there too?
      Yes, no problem with it

If you have been to a physical bjd store, how was it??
      I haven't

    13. Would you go to it?
      Yes! Once in a while.
What would you expect to find there?
Dolls, wigs , clothes, eyes, accessories, face-up supplies...
What would you want it to have?

It would be nice to have some display of the dolls.
Would you be fine with it having other hobbies in there too?
Sure, I wouldn't mind at all.
If you have been to a physical bjd store, how was it??
      I've never been to one.

    14. Would you go to it?
If it was possible to go then I'd go very often. I love going to proper stores rather than do all my shopping online

What would you expect to find there?
A great mix of things. Wigs, Clothes, accessories. some dolls as well. Items needed for creating face-ups and modding, perhaps also the items to make your own dolls.

What would you want it to have?
      All the things stated above

Would you be fine with it having other hobbies in there too?
Yeah I would not mind having to share with other hobbies since BJDs is such a niche hobby

If you have been to a physical bjd store, how was it??
      Unfortunately I haven't

    15. Would you go to it?
I would love to, but I live in Europe, with neither physical no virtual BJD stores here.:...(

    16. Of corse i would (no shipping costs ha ha)
I would expect to find there new friends and tons of stuff (it would be nice to be able to try clothes on :P)
I would like for them to have spare parts for Volks dollfie dream since they breaking a lot
Of corse i would like for them to have other hobbies in the store

    17. I would love to be able to go to a physical BJD store, because sometimes I find looking at dolls online to be intimidating and I'd just want to take the doll home right then and there without having to wait. The closest I've ever gotten to a BJD store in my area are conventions with Japanese centered themes (anime conventions; Japanese Festivals) that have BJD booths.

    18. Would you go to it?
Yes! It would definitely omit the cost of shipping, which is amazing haha.

What would you expect to find there?
Mostly doll accessories, like wigs, eyes, clothes, shoes, items for maintenance.

What would you want it to have?
I would wish that it would have everything that I expect there, but also dolls! Of course.

Would you be fine with it having other hobbies in there too?
I wouldn't mind if there were other hobbies there!

    19. #1 I would love to go to a store. My daughter got to go to several when she was in Korea.
#2 I would expect to find dolls, clothes, wigs and other accessories.
#3 I would want to find a doll that I have been hoping for.
#4 I would be fine if there would be other hobby items there.
#5 As I have not been NA.

Once again, it would be awesome to be able to go to a store that actually sells bjds. To see if a sculpt is one I really want and to compare bodies, to try on different wigs, clothes, etc. Maybe one day!

    20. Most definitely. With being new on the scene, I would want to view as many options available and then decide which is the best for me and my budget!
