Would you go to a physical BJD store?

Dec 21, 2014

    1. Oh wow, that would be a dream coming true!

      Would you go to it?
I would spend all my free time there!

What would you expect to find there?
Lots of accessories and all necessary tools for taking care of my dolls.

What would you want it to have?
Dolls, clothes, wigs, shoes and spare parts. Oh and also tools, brushes, colors, etc.

Would you be fine with it having other hobbies in there too?
Not really, I don't like to mix things up.

    2. Would you go to it?
      Of course!

What would you expect to find there?
I imagine it'd have in-stock dolls for sale, little racks of clothing and accessories, a little area with little wigs for sale on stands, and maybe a little photo corner with a great lighting setup where you could take a little photoshoot before you left.

What would you want it to have?
I'd really love it if they had it set up where you could sell or buy good-condition pre-loved dolls and doll related goods. I'd also like the option available to try on wigs or clothing before I purchased them. I'd REALLY love it if the store carried faceup supplies such as MSC, pastels, acrylics, etc. That alone would be enough to keep me coming back, as I HATE ordering sealant online as much as I hate wandering around all the towns here trying to find anyone who sells another usable brand.

Would you be fine with it having other hobbies in there too?
I'd like for it to be as doll-centered as possible. It would be cool if they carried other kinds of dolls though, such as Pullip or Hujoo. Like a little haven for all kinds of doll lovers.

If you have been to a physical bjd store, how was it??
Never been to one, but I'm sure it's wonderful.

    3. Would you go to it?
      Yes, definitely!

What would you expect to find there?
Dolls, clothes, wigs, accessories, and furniture. :3 Plus maybe some carrying bags and books about BJDs.

What would you want it to have?
The things I expected plus maybe a few tables and chairs where you can sit and talk to other BJD owners.

Would you be fine with it having other hobbies in there too?
Yes. I love checking out all sorts of other hobbies.

    4. Would you go to it?
      Yes
What would you expect to find there?
Dolls, clothes, shoes, eyes, wigs, meetup space, face up supplies, kips, s hooks, nice people, guest speakers, workshops
What would you want it to have?
Clothes and wigs to try on, rotating photo sets, meetup space, a tea room (hey, I can dream!)
Would you be fine with it having other hobbies in there too?
Sure, as long as they were hobbies frequented by people with good hygiene and manners. LOL
If you have been to a physical bjd store, how was it??

Only in my dreams, it was great.

    5. Would you go to it?
      I sure would!

What would you expect to find there?
Doll accessories, clothes, eyes, wigs, maybe even furniture.

What would you want it to have?
Workshops, s hooks, restringing supplies, clothes and wigs, eyes.

Would you be fine with it having other hobbies in there too?
      Sure!

    6. Would you go to it?
YES. Oh my gods, yes. I'd practically live there if is was only a short walk away...

What would you expect to find there?
Doll stuffs including, but not limited to, the whole clothing, wig, eye, accessories, and shoes set up. Also, I don't ask for an extensive set up, but basic stringing and face up supplies would make it awesome.

What would you want it to have?
Props, furniture, maybe an area where people can meet up and/or take pictures? I'd love to meet one or two other doll owners there...hopefully. It'd be absolutely spectacular if the staff of the store knew their doll stuff and I could properly chat with them.

Would you be fine with it having other hobbies in there too?
Yep? I'd be a-o-k with it, as a number of hobbies have some quite a bit compatible supplies that can be worked into the hobby. Even if they didn't, sharing a space with another hobby is a small price to pay for a physical shop...heck, if the other hobby is interesting enough, I might just take it up.

If you have been to a physical bjd store, how was it?
      N/A (;n;)

    7. I see you are from Mass? Is this store in Mass and where?

I would love to go if you are!! so that would answer this posts questions!

    8. My boyfriend takes trips to Japan quite frequently and he said there are many doll stores there! He said when we finally go together he would bring me to a few of the stores. I'm expecting to see lots of clothes and maybe even people there with their dolls! I'd love to see other people's dolls even though there may be a bit of a language barrier it would be fun to talk to the community from a country other than my own! Hopefully when I go I'll be able to pick up some eyes and wigs. Sometimes buying online leads to getting items that were different from the pictures and that's always so sad. No chance of that at an actual store!!!

    9. Would you go to it?
Would I go to it? I'd work there! I'd volunteer, if I had to!

What would you expect to find there?
Clothes, definitely. Possibly a catalog of the dolls they could order, or an ordering system. Secondhand dolls, too!

What would you want it to have?
All of the above, plus furniture, accessories, and some new dolls. Maybe a photo station area, too, where you could rent by the hour and play with accessories and donated/secondhand outfits! For a BJD shop, I think a major source of revenue will be in the accessory sales and the space rental for meets, classes, and photo-taking purposes. If it was more activity based and less sales-based, I think it could be successful!

Would you be fine with it having other hobbies in there too?
Uuuuuh heck yes! Our hobbies often overlap. BJDs have introduced me to all kinds of new hobbies.

If you have been to a physical bjd store, how was it??
I have! It was the Volks store. I've been a few times. It was nice, but it was in the middle of nowhere and I wasn't aware of any functions they might have. It was definitely cool to visit, and it gave me ideas for what I'd like to have and/or improve if I had my own BJD shop.

    10. Would you go to it?
Absolutely! Best addition to any location.

What would you expect to find there?
Big brand name dolls and lots and lots of clothing and wig options.

What would you want it to have?
A mix and match section for bodies and heads, and a place where you could get custom faceups done on site.

Would you be fine with it having other hobbies in there too?
      Of course!

If you have been to a physical bjd store, how was it??
      I wish...

    11. Would you go to it?
      - Yes ! And my wallet would hate me forever.. .__.

What would you expect to find there?
      - Some clothes, few dolls hanging around and such.. :3

What would you want it to have?
      - Much much much clothes for all sizes! And some dolls and all little props for them and all stuff !

Would you be fine with it having other hobbies in there too?
      - Yes, sure, why not :3

If you have been to a physical bjd store, how was it??
      - I wish !

    12. Would you go to it?
In a heartbeat. Hell, I'm saving to go to Japan and hope to go to one or two while I'm there.

What would you expect to find there?
The usual, doll wigs, eyes, and clothing. Also show-models of whatever company the store represents.

What would you want it to have?

Clothes omg...to be actually able to hold the clothes and see the sizing and colors and such before buying would be such a dream. Also would be pretty great to have a photo op section. I'd imagine taking photos with other people's dolls in little setups would be a ton of fun.

Would you be fine with it having other hobbies in there too?

I think that'd actually be really fun. If it's cohesive in theme, then chances are whatever hobbies are also in there would be something I also might be interested in. It'd be a chance to expand my horizons :)

    13. Would you go to it?
I Dream the day I can go to a store like that XD

What would you expect to find there?
would be nice to find models of many companies to do comparisons and, I think seeing in live the dolls could make me take better decision of wich one buy next. Also, I like a big department of clothes and shoes, an I mean a big one square size
      :XD:
What would you want it to have?
All section of the hobby: clothes for all size, shoes, wigs, maybe some place with faceup and blushing service, and maybe doll modifications (that can promove local artis too)
Would you be fine with it having other hobbies in there too?
will be fine, can learn more from others hobbies
If you have been to a physical bjd store, how was it??
like those big grocery store and marketplaces but full of dolls
      :love

    14. Would you go to it? Yes!!

What would you expect to find there? Dolls, limiteds maybe, clothing or accessories for that company?

What would you want it to have? If possible, everything; including specialised cleaning lotions (rather annoyed no vinyl companies have done this yet to my knowledge)

Would you be fine with it having other hobbies in there too?Yes! there are hobbies that overlap or go along with BJDs i.e the photography, the diaramas, the sewing, figure collections etc.

If you have been to a physical bjd store, how was it?? N/A

    15. Would you go to it?: YES. A hundred times yes. I would probably never come out.

What would you expect to find there?: Possibly some of the smaller sculpts, definitely behind glass cases. Wigs and clothes most definitely, and accessories! Maybe some resin kits and books on making clothes, doing face-ups, etc.

What would you want it to have?: The above, especially the books, actually. Those would be hella useful.

Would you be fine with it having other hobbies in there too?: I think so, since a lot of other hobbies can really integrate into this one. Knitting, sewing, jewelry making, photography, cobbling... SO many possibilities!

    16. Would you go to it?
gYes! Definitely. I mean, just imagine to be able to see the doll you would like standing there, falling in love and being able to take him or her with you immediately! It would also help because some pictures really don't do a doll justice (like resinsoul) while some owner pictures that you can find might be made more beautiful with photoshop. I think that seeing the things in real life would be far better than seeing it on the internet.

What would you expect to find there?
I would expect to find dolls, clothes, shoes, wigs, accessories, ...

What would you want it to have?
Everything listed above. I have high expectations I guess xD

Would you be fine with it having other hobbies in there too?
Of course! They would have bjd stuff, that's all that matters, I wouldn't mind if they sell other stuff as well.

If you have been to a physical bjd store, how was it??
No I haven't but I'm going for my birthday in a month :)

    17. Would you go to it?

Heck, I would definitely go there very frequently, I would run there probably ._. I have always wanted to go to one.

What would you expect to find there?

Lots and lots of bjd merchandise, e.g., wigs, eyes, clothes, shoes and other accessories; meeting other bjd owners :D and lots of bjds (owned either by the shop owners/presented by some companies)! Materials and supplies for customization; cute little studio corner for photoshoots; maybe a nice little cafe too?

What would you want it to have?

      EYES & SHOES mostly ><

Would you be fine with it having other hobbies in there too?

      Sure, why not XD

If you have been to a physical bjd store, how was it??

Never been to an actual one :( But I seen a video of it in Korea :D it looks awesome!
