Would you own a doll with this facial expression?

May 23, 2014

    1. I always wanted to own a really sad doll... It might sound strange but if I am depressed I also start to listen to sad music, reading depressing books or watching sad films as crazy as it may soud. I just can't stop even if my mood gets worse. Guess I love to torture myself a bit sometimes. But it also kind of helps me to get through bad times so would a sad doll. I would enjoy her company if I am back to depression once again.

So yeah I would defenitely buy her ;)

    2. I also saw the disgusted/sick face not sad xD

    3. I think she's a very unique sculpt and she is pretty but I would feel bad if I owned her or a doll with a similar expression. I need positive energy in my life and I think she would bring me down.

    4. I think she's pretty, but she's too sad for me. If she had alternative heads/faceplates, then possibly.

    5. exactly my feelings. plus i think that dolls of this kind such have the option of being purchased with a standard face plate. i definitely could not put up with that sort of misery 24/7

    6. Awwww, my god she looks so sad. I'd have to agree that having her around wold be depressing but all the same I want to hug her ; _ ;
Although the "Candy for Mona" contest mentioned on the buy page is the cutest thing ever.

    7. While she's a lovely girl, she wouldn't fit my tastes. The eternal expression of pain would just... meh. It would limit me. If I had another similar face to exchange out I'd be more interested (like if they had different emotive faceplates).

    8. YES I would but they forgot to give her tears. The tears would make her crying so realistic !

    9. The artist did an excellent job conveying pain in the sculpt. I would enjoy seeing photos of her by other people, I myself have no desire to own her though.

    10. I agree about the artist's work on her, you can tell that they did quality work. That being said, I couldn't own her either... I already complain about how so many sculpts look sad and seeing that crying face everyday would probably bring me down too

    11. God, I'd feel guilty everytime I'd look at her...

    12. no......I think I'm going to feel like I'm doing something wrong when I see her :O
      Beside I prefer neutral expression..

    13. I wouldn't want to own her. Not because her expression is too 'extreme', but because it looks very phony to me. To me, it looks like someone jokingly pulling a completely over-the-top drama face, not someone who is actually sad or crying. I also find dolls with such specific expressions too limiting, unless there's an option to buy a neutral head in the same sculpt with the same face-up (so I can use two heads to represent the same character).

    14. For me I think the Ringdoll Mona's expression is going a bit too far (for me personally), but I bet someone would want her :')

    15. I thought Ringdoll Mona is a beautiful doll of its kind. Although I must agree with others, the crying face is too real and depressing. Cannot unsee, ugh~ I would probably cover her with a face veil/mask and make her look like a fancy Arabian, so she can take a break from crying all the time :daisy

    16. Well, I was very tempted to buy her... then, I wandered what I could do with her ! After a few photos, I'm afraid to be stucked in always the same stories...

    17. Nope. Just not my cuppa as they say. I don't like seeing dolls with painful back stories, blood, bruises, scars and the like. I also don't like dolls with what I consider awkward or weird faces. They may be different and interesting, but I'd find them too odd to live with after a while. An expression like this one, it would get old for me very quickly. I'd probably end up unable to stand the sight of her and wanting to get rid of her.

    18. The sculpt itself looks really good, but I wouldn't want to own it.
I think it's much too expressive to really do anything with. Plus she would look really weird in any kind of "happy" style.
She would have to have a sad story and sad looking pictures. I wouldn't really like feeling so restricted.

    19. Mona is a beautiful sculpt, but she's not a doll I could see myself owning. As others before me have said, her expression would be very limiting. That's a turn-off for me.

    20. I'm really impressed with this sculpt. I think Ringdoll makes really interesting things of very high quality. If I had the money I would buy her straight away. I think she is SO beautiful and SO full of expression it's just poetical to me. ^__^ *loves*
The sculptor has some crazy-awesome skills :D
