1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

You ever feel like your dolls are obsolete?

    1. Oh, I know My Crew are old-fashioned. I don't really care. I've been in this hobby since for a long time, and I know that trends come and go. :3nodding:

      I'm not into realistic human dolls, I much prefer the anime styled dolls, so that is what most of My Crew are. I have a couple of more realistic human dolls, but for the most part, my BJDs are anime-styled, fantasy, or non-humanoid boys.

      Lately when I buy human BJDs, I tend to look for older sculpts. Many of the newer, more popular dolls are either MSD sized girls, or too realistic, which makes finding dolls to buy difficult when you prefer SD-sized, anime-looking boys. There doesn't seem to be as much diversity in sculpts anymore, at least not to my eyes.

      Many of My Crew wear older styles too, rock star, lolita, Goth, stuff like that. I know that the "MSD girls in Old Navy/mall shoppers/millenials/every day people" look :huh?::yawnis in, and again, I don't really care. I like what I like, and they like the styles of clothes I get for them. Unfortunately, right now, many of my dolls' styles are either difficult to find or expensive when I do find them. Especially for my SD-sized boy dolls.

      I'm going to go read what other people said, just out of curiosity. :abambi:

      Edit:
      Speaking of Delf El, I just found a Luts Cerberus Project Delf El not too long ago, and he came home on Tuesday! I've wanted one since the first BJD I saw in person back in 2005, and to finally bring one home was a long-time dream for me.

      Now to find other Old School BJDs that I've always wanted....:XD::thumbup

    2. I'm getting back into the hobby after pausing for a long time (school, moving, etc)... but a large portion of my dolls are 6-11 years old. O.O; I definitely feel as if we're a little dated. But I'm also really proud of how long I've kept them and in how good a condition they are (no drastic fading or yellowing, just general mellowing of the skin).

      I'm currently working on making them my original visions, or reworking their visions while enjoying all the new dolls and companies. My personal tastes have changed a bit so I'm excited to see what happens :)

    3. Comparing my LUTS Delf Clary from seven years ago to the FairyLand Miwa I got two weeks ago, I definitely see the difference between the two. Obsolete? No way! Just different :3

      Miwa is double jointed and poses beautifully while my Clary is single jointed and in need of restringing but I love both just as much. I've thought about buying the newer double-jointed delf body for my Clary but even then, I feel like changing out her body in that manner would "take away" from her; I feel like she'd be a new doll and not one I'm familiar with. This is really strange but when I first got my Clary, she accidentally slid off my couch and had scratched her faceup so if you look closely, it looks like she has a faint scar along her left eye. I thought about sending the head back to LUTS to redo the faceup but I also felt like she'd be a different doll than the one I had grown attached to. So seven years later, scratched faceup, yellowed resin and all, I still love her to bits and I can't imagine thinking otherwise.

      Can she pose as beautifully as my Miwa? Maybe not but she's special in her own way. I think because she was a limited doll too makes it more special for me. I'm sorry if I went off on a tangent, I tend to ramble a lot XD;
